Do you normally get your meat from Aldi and stock up? Just wondering because I love the shopping list with the meals you plan to make, but just realized the meat used in the dishes isn’t included.

I was wondering the same thing. Is the meat at Aldi, particularly the ground beef, healthy?

I’m so sorry – I am just now seeing this comment. I rarely buy meat at Aldi (I will buy pork products – bacon, ham, and pepperoni – there). I buy all my chicken and beef in bulk from Zaycon. If you follow my posts for long enough, you will find weeks where I show an 80-lb chicken purchase, or a 40-lb ground beef purchase. My husband also is a hunter and fisherman, so we have LOTS of venison and fish in my freezer (He’s already gotten 3 or 4 deer this season). Hope that helps!

I’m curious if you’ve ever experimented with shopping every other week or a non-weekly schedule and its effects on your spending. I’ve been trying to shop twice a month strictly (no filler trips for produce or sales ) and still can’t tell that I’m saving money although I am saving a little time I guess . I do keep a strict cash budget.

I haven’t! I’m not very good at “long-term” planning, and my husband is HORRIBLE about making “filler” trips (on his own) if we’re out of something. 😉 I’m guessing my family wouldn’t work with me on this one! Ha! Let me know if you do find that you save money this way. I’d be willing to give it a try if I heard rave reviews. 🙂
