I wasn’t planning on going to Walmart today when I was out doing some errands and shopping while Grandma was here watching the children, but I was right by it and had my coupons with me, so I popped in. Here’s what I purchased:
2 packs of strawberries — price-matched them to Aldi — $0.99 each
5 lbs. of bananas — price-matched them to a local store which has bananas for $0.18/lb. on Thursdays
Nivea Body Wash — $3.97, used $3/1 coupon –$0.97 after coupon
Bic Soleil Razors — $3.97 each, used $3/1 coupons — $0.97 each after coupons
2 YoPlus Yogurt 4-packs — $1.68 each, used $1/1 coupons — $0.68 each after coupons
2 Taco Bell Taco Seasonings — $0.50 each, used $1/2 coupon — Free after coupon
My total after coupons was $7.83 for everything pictured above.
See more deals at Walmart this week here. Did you get any great deals at Walmart this week?

My walmart said they don’t price match aldi’s or Kwik trips fruit prices anymore, I even work there so I have time to ask, and not be in line at the time, not sure this is what they are supposed to do, anyone else have this happen? And really watch the prices I know I have seen prices are supposed to be one thing and they are different for every store. Here in WI they are saying “by law” they can not sell the pepsi products for The advertised $5 not sure which “law” they are going by.

Our Walmart has all of the ads from stores in our area at a customer service area at the end of the cash registers. (Not the CS desk…this is something different, I think it’s near aisle 13 at our store) We have a great Walmart and many times I don’t even have to show my ad, but just say “I’m price matching this from the Kroger (or whatever) ad.” You can’t price match a b1g1 or a %off. HTH!

I have a question how do you price match fruits do they have to of one particular brand;or is it just for that particular fruit no brand needed.
catherine says
Also wondering about the price matching. Do you have to check out at customer service or can each cashier do it if you have the sale flyers with you?
Courtney says
@catherine, I’ve never had to go through customer service for price matches. The cashiers are able to do it as long as you have the flyer with you. Our Walmart is pretty strict that you have to have the other store’s price in print – you can’t just verbally say, “Such and such store has this item priced at $x.xx”.
catherine says
@Courtney,
Thanks so much! I might just try it next time I go.

I got .18 bananas yesterday too… but they’re so green it will probably be Sunday before we can eat them! I’ve never thought about price-matching strawberries before, but I’ve never really liked strawberries until recently, so I have to have really good ones, therefore it’s Driscoll’s or nothing. They’re just so good!

I second a post on how to price match at Walmart. We actually live near a Walmart grocery store now, so I have started shopping there regularly and would love to learn how to price match without causing a hassle!

Wow, the prices you got on the bananas and strawberries is great! I sure do wish we had prices like that down south 🙂

Great deal on the bananas! 🙂 Unfortunately, I have never seen bananas here cheaper than Costco’s price ($0.44/lb) although Trader Joe’s is probably close, at $0.19 each! 🙂
I am not complaining though, as when we lived near Aldi’s we got free over-ripe bananas at times. 😀

Though I’m glad that Wal-Mart price matches, seeing the prices makes me thrilled that I have a Publix where the same Bic razors deal from last week made them free and the Yoplait deal from this week makes them $.25 per 4 pack!!! I have to say that I’m jealous of the fruit prices, we never see them that low where I live in Florida to even have Wal-Mart do a price match.
Jessica @ Life as I See It says
I am so envious of your banana prices!! Even our “red band” (marked down) bananas are .39/cents a lb!! Regular bananas at their cheapest are .49/cents a lb! We eat about 16-20lbs of bananas a week with our green smoothies and I so wish we could get them cheaper!
Katherine says
@Jessica @ Life as I See It, Do you have a Kwik Trip near you? Their bananas are generally 29 cents/lb. by us (southern MN).

Cancel my last question. I just noticed you have a different coupon. Ours was 4 dollars off Nivea not 3. Sorry!!!
Toni Caldwell says
I want to know how you used the Nivea coupons. The ones we got in the Concord area expired May 31st and of course, Walmart was out of Nivea until June 1st!!!!

Nice job! Could you do a post on how to price match at WalMart? Or lead me to the info on how it works? I am curious about this and would like to try my hand at it. Thanks much for sharing all your knowledge. 🙂
Michelle Z. says
When you price match, do you need the flyer from the other stores? Do you just carry them with your coupons?
Courtney says
@Michelle Z., At our Walmart, you do need to have the flyer with you to do a price match.
Allison says
@Michelle Z., WM has their corporate price-matching policy here: http://walmartstores.com/7659.aspx While it is fairly vague, it does state that they will match an advertised price from a competitor’s printed ad. My stores will also “price match” competitor’s store coupons by just adjusting the price down that amount, but that is not stated in the policy. You can also find their coupon policy here: http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx but it is even more vague, and IMO it’s rarely worth the trouble to try to do anything tricky with coupons at WM. I have talked with a manager on the phone, and they don’t match RR deals, and you can’t use a cents-off coupon combined with a B1G1 coupon. I have had trouble using coupons that have a higher face value than the cost of the item, and I get a different answer each time I try.
Allison says
@Michelle Z., You can show the cashier the ad (if they ask, sometimes I just tell them “XZY store has these for $XX this week) and they change the price manually. You can find WM’s corporate coupon policy and price-match policy on their website, but they’re a little vague for specific scenarios.

@Michelle Z.,
When I do price match at our Walmart, they have ads from all other stores at their cash register and the cashier will check the ad you tell her to for verification.
However, I also carry my ads with me and on my note put which store I want to match to, and I circle it on my ad. This helps me out so much. At times, I find Walmart is cheaper on some things that are advertised!

You are awesome. I wish my brain would work like yours!!!!
