My dad rented a big cabin outside of Gatlinburg and almost all of my extended family met up for the weekend. (We missed you, Nathaniel, Katherine, Genevieve, and Herbert).
We had multiple bear sightings — which was exciting! (See my video here for an even better view.)
Gatlinburg was really bustling with people so we mostly stayed at the cabin to avoid the crowds.
But we did get donuts from The Donut Friar.
And we watched them make taffy at the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen.
“Just sitting here working on my blog.” 😉
My youngest brother with Kierstyn.
Lots of cousin time!
Reading with Grandpa!
And Grandma reading with the boys!
This little guy spent so much time playing with water bottles this weekend! It would roll and he would chase it and it was so funny to watch!
And more reading (the babies LOVE to be read to!)
My brother posted this on his IG stories from his grocery shopping trip with my parents to buy all the groceries for the weekend.
Here was the menu plan for the weekend. It was so yummy!

Word of the Year Goals (my word is “savor”)
10. Watch an episode of The Amazing Race as a family.
I came here for the pumpkin twist recipe also! 🙂 But while I’m here, would you mind sharing what season of amazing race you’re watching? We’ve tried to watch this as a family but are having difficulty finding seasons that we feel are “family appropriate.” Thank you!
We’ve watched all of the seasons and are currently watching the latest one. We watch it with our kids and they are older, so while we don’t agree/endorse everything in every episode, it sparks great conversations!
What is the recipe for Pumpkin Twists? I LOVE your upside down pizza recipe. I also made that for a family with a newborn, and they loved it. Thanks so much! Baby K looks sooooo cute in that green outfit with the headband. And Champ is adorable chasing that water bottle. Love seeing your posts!!! And Silas!!! I remember posts when you were freezer meal prepping for his birth. Time flies!!! 💞
I’ll need to ask my sister for the recipe for Pumpkin Twists. It was a new recipe, but it was yummy! They were something like this: https://onelittleproject.com/pumpkin-pie-twists/ but I’m not sure what site she got the recipe from!
I also want to know!
