1. Our Current Read Alouds
We’re loving our current read alouds: Justin Morgan Had a Horse and The Lewis & Clark Expedition. These are part of our Sonlight curriculum for this year and we’ve really been enjoying them together. Have you read either of these?
2. My New Be Still Shirt
Should I confess that I’ve worn this Be Still shirt three different times this week already? Yup, I have.
And I’m not going to be embarrassed about that… because the message of this shirt speaks to me in such profound ways that the more I can be reminded of it, the better! (You can read more about what this shirt means to me and where I got it from here.)
3. Introvert Bingo
My husband texted this to me this week and it made me laugh! 🙂 I wouldn’t say all of it is accurate… but there might be a lot more truth here than I’d like to admit. How would YOU score on this Bingo??

4. Speaking at the Business Boutique in Dallas/Ft. Worth
I was so pumped to get to speak and share my story of building an online business + how I monetize my blog at the Business Boutique event in Dallas/Ft. Worth this week. There were over 1600 women there and it was such an amazing, life-giving experience!
One of the highlights for me — in addition to getting to meet so many of you in person! — was getting to bring Silas with me. He was absolutely over the moon that he got to be my travel buddy on this speaking trip!
He’d been counting down the days for months and we went over the agenda multiple times over the past week because he was just so excited he could barely stand it and wanted to talk over every detail of the trip. 😉
He did so well and I was so proud of his endurance to be the only child in a sea of adults for hours and hours having to sit beside me during the event or stand next to me while I was meeting attendees. And it was fun for him to get to see a little peek into my world.
However, our favorite parts were getting to hang out in the hotel room or spend time at the pool/hot tub. There are parts of this entrepreneurial life that are hard and stretching, but it’s moments like these that make it all feel worth it!
{By the way, I am so excited about this swimsuit I found on Amazon recently (pictured above). I love the sort of retro swimsuit look and was thrilled with how this one fits and that it is cute and modest and inexpensive. Score!}
5. Argan Oil + NuMe Straightener
Of course I had to mention the products that changed my hair this week. Because I just can’t help myself… I’m still SO jazzed about my hair epiphany. It only took 34 years for this to happen. 🙂
If you missed my earlier swooning post, be sure to read it here.
What are YOU loving this week? Tell us in the comments!

Crystal, Walmart sells bathing suits similar to yours on their website. Catalina is the manufacturer. I have one and it’s really cute! Thought you may like another source for cute one-piece suits.
Thanks so much for the recommendation!
What a wonderful week! I love that Silas got to tag along with you. So special for him <3
Here's where I found joy this week: http://www.myjoyinchaos.com/home/2016/5/my-weeks-joy-516-522
OK I am RIDICULOUSLY excited about this deal. Just ordered my own hot pink straightner! I’ve been wanting one for ages and couldn’t figure out how to choose one or what brand or how to use it. Super excited to give this a go. Thanks for getting us such a crazy steal of a deal!
Woohoo!! And you’re welcome!
I enjoyed your interview with Focus on the Family today about Money Making Mom’s today. Listening to you in your own voice made it just that much more real today. Thank you! Joanne
Thanks so much for your kind encouragement!!
So enjoyed meeting you and hearing you speak this weekend! I don’t think the audience drew breath during your interview. They were spell-bound by this miracle from heaven called affiliate marketing! Ha! And, thanks to Silas for providing entertainment while I waited in line. How he surprised me when he popped out from under the table cloth! Ha! He is a delight.
Aw, it was GREAT to meet you — and thank you for your kind encouragement!
Thank you so much for the swimsuit recommendation!!!! I was on the hunt but living in Alaska, we don’t have many suits around haha. I couldn’t believe the price wonderful. I ordered another by the same brand can’t wait to see them.
thanks again
Sarah
YAY!! I’m so glad I could share a great find! I was so excited about it!!
I’m going to order it in the Pink!! Thank you SO much for ending a lllllloooonnnnngggg search for me!
I can relate to your hair issues. Mine was thicker when I was younger and definitely not as dry as now. But I’ve found a great hair dryer by Revlon. It’s ceramic, ionic and tourmaline. It was $35 at Ulta. Best $ I’ve spent. My hair looks great and straighter to where I don’t need to use my straightener everyday.
Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Does the bathing suit run true to size? If so, I want one!
It did for me! I was very happy with the fit!
That moment when you’re casually checking your email, and you see yourself staring back at you in Crystal’s email!!! I had to do a double take, hahaha! I love that picture of us, and it was SO cool to meet you and Silas! I loved every moment of the Business Boutique, but I wish you had been a main speaker! We really enjoyed hearing your story. You have inspired me in every aspect of my life, from marriage to homeschooling to my business!
🙂 🙂
Thank you so much for your sweet words of encouragement! It was so fun to meet you… and I just realized that I didn’t credit your photo link here. That’s what happens when I wake up in the middle of the night in a hotel, can’t sleep, and decide to finish a blog post. 🙂 I’ll go add in the link now.
Oh my goodness, thank you!! 😀
I’d get 100 percent on that bingo and I am an extrovert! LOL!
I grew up with the M. Henry books, and I loved them!
It was fantastic to see you speak at BB Dallas. I’ve followed the blog for years, so it was a treat to see you among the other awesome speakers. 🙂
Aw, thank you so much for your kind encouragement!
I love the picture of you and Silas!! He definitely seems like a “Quality Time” kind of a guy! Thanks for sharing your gratitude with us!
Yes! He LOVED it!
Wondering which color you opted for on the cute suit
I went with blue. 🙂
Thanks for the post about the NuMe hair products. I ordered it and am so excited. I also have very thick straw like hair with a wave. I found that coconut curling cream really helps my hair. I can buy it at Target for 5.99 a tub. I still struggle with frizz however. Hoping this argan oil helps and I’m excited to try the straightening wand. I have lost over twenty pounds in the last four months. I kind of found my spark in life again. I went through my thirties being kind of frumpy. I feel so much better. I plan on taking care of myself better, but frugally:) I bought smaller name brand jeans for myself at GoodWill for 4.50. You are truly inspiring! Have a good week!!
We also recently read Justin Morgan had a Horse. My son loved it. We’ve enjoyed Henry’s other books also, especially Misty of Chincoteague.
The Introvert Bingo made me laugh too. Not all of them apply, but I would score a pretty good score. I could definitely call a Bingo or two. 😉
😉
I’ve got a lot to be thankful for this week. The least of which was hanging out at the conference this weekend with my best friend, meeting you, and feeling encouraged. 🙂 oh…and in the off hours from the conference, I was able to experience top golf like you did. It was really cool. My first time with a real club. Then I dressed up line wonder woman and danced the night away at a birthday party. And today, I go to church with my bff’s. Overall a fabulous weekend. 🙂
So fun! And it was great to finally meet you!!
Love the introvert bingo! I’m loving your make over your evenings course, the baby robins we have on our house eave, fresh from the clothesline sheets, The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew (current read aloud) and our really great local public library.
I love a great public library, too! One of life’s greatest frugal joys, in my opinion!
Wondering which color combo you got?!
Silas was awesome. The line to meet you was crazy long plus I forgot my book to have you sign. So excited you were there and excited about the information you gave. Thank you so much!!!
It was GREAT to meet you!
