2. Write a love note to Jesse.Personal Goals
3. Review Romans 1:1-16.4. Exercise six times. Run 12 miles. (I did exercise 6 different days, but most of those were really short sessions on the treadmill so I only ended up totaling 8 miles this past week.)

6. Get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night.Homemaking Goals
7. Work for 30 minutes on my embroidery project.Business Goals
8. Finish making the edits to the recipes for the new recipes page.(Yay! I finally got this done!! I’ll be rolling out the new page design as soon as my designer gets it up and running!)

I hope you are all enjoying Trumpet of the Swan. That is my absolute favorite family read aloud. When my youngest 3 were toddler/preschool/kindergarten age I read that book and my twenty something and older teen would camp out in our living room to listen in. We loved that story and have read again a couple of times.

It’s totally different than I expected, but we’re really getting into it and enjoying it!

The one summer goal that I have felt really great about is reading aloud to my kids during breakfast and lunch. Thanks so much for the suggestion! We’re reading a book right now that I saw on your site – Caddie Woodlawn. I found out that you can visit her home in Wisconsin which is close to where we will vacation later in the summer. I always love to hear what you are reading for yourself and to your kids – keep the reviews and book suggestions coming. It is one of my favorite parts of your site!

Do you mind sharing what kind of treadmill you have? I’ve decided my best option is to get something for home.
Crystal says
My best advice is to look on Craigslist or at garage sales. You can usually find a treadmill that has only been used for 6 months or less that someone just wants to get out of their house and will gladly sell to you for much less than they paid for it!

Good advice – thanks!

Good idea about putting a mileage goal in for your running. I used to do that and should probably start again. It was very motivating. I’ve been struggling to even go for my walks lately. 🙁

I love the book “Number the Stars”–I used to read it over and over as a little girl! I hope your little girl loves it as much as I did!
Crystal says
We’re really enjoying it and I’m hoping to finish it this week or next!

I love that you are spending some intentional time just playing with the kids this week. That really should go on my goals for the week. The other day I got some special one on one time with my daughter and we made clover chains and talked about 3 year old stuff, it was really special.

It looks like you did a good job on your goals last week. 8 miles instead of 12 is still a good amount of running to get in, more than I could do. 🙂 But I have improved on my exercising and I am consistently exercising now 5 days a week. So I have really made progress this year in the exercising category.
I am also working on getting more sleep, I am so tired of feeling tired.

I love how you can read more than one book at a time. I have never been able to do that… too much of a one book woman, I guess. 🙂
Crystal says
I find I read a lot more when I have a few different books going — because I’m not always in the mood for the same kind of book. 🙂
