We’re heading to Virginia early, early on Wednesday morning and will be there through Sunday. I’ll be speaking five times at the Virginia Homeschool Conference and we’ll be running a booth in the vendor hall, as well.
So, needless to say, I’m keeping my goals simple this week. That way, I don’t set myself up for automatic failure. 🙂
Last week’s goals:
Family/Mothering Goals
1. Finish reading Quest for Truth:Taken (reading to everyone), Winnie the Pooh (reading to Kathrynne), and The Courage of Sarah Noble (reading to Kaitlynn).

I like the goal of writing a love note. I haven’t written one to my husband in a long time–I’ll do that this week.

One of my big goals this month is to make 4 new-to-me vegan dishes. I made one which was really good, and now I have 3 more to go! The main challenges of going vegan has been trying to avoid dairy. I am making progress 🙂
Kristin says
I’ve been following your goals for awhile and finally decided to start setting and sharing my own!

Still some pretty good goals! Here are mine for June – although I have weekly goals, I only do a post on my monthly ones related to my blog topic for the month (staying healthy while traveling): http://behealthybehappywellness.com/blog/2012/06/june-goals

Jumping on the weekly goals bandwagon. Not making enough progress on the 2012 goals, so hoping that weekly goals will help.

My goal is to get the house organized and everyone packed for a two week beach vacation in NC starting friday after my daughters kindergarten graduation. The whole trip is paid for in cash!!! The vacation will be great, the packing, not so much 🙂

Hope you enjoy Without a Word as much as I did. I read it earlier this week and it really touched me and my family. Even though my child doesn’t have such physical disabilities, she does fight Type I diabetes challenges everyday and has since age 1 (she is now 4). I really connected with Jill Kelly on so many levels! Great and easy read!
Shawn @ Managing The Money Wars says
Great idea to not only write down your goals but to hold yourself accountable for them. This is a great way accomplish what you want and feel good about things you have already completed.

Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip! 🙂

Have a great week! We used to live in VA so it has a special place in my heart. Our first child was born there while my husband attended graduate school at Regent University. Enjoy the conference:)

Hey Crystal will you be at the vendor hall at any specific time? I’d love to meet you! 🙂
Crystal says
I should be there for sure on Thursday evening and then on Friday and Saturday when I’m not speaking. I’d love to get to meet you!
Tara says
I will see you there too! Is your daughter going to the kids camp? I am bringing my 7 year old twins. They are so excited about going to the camp.
Tabitha says
We’ll be there on Saturday so hopefully we’ll get to meet you! 🙂 I hope your travels go well and enjoy speaking at the conference! I know everyone will learn so much from you!!

I hope the speaking goes well in Virginia. My biggest task for this week is to make sure I get the blanket I have been working on done. I had no idea 42 tassels would take a whole afternoon and evening to make up, now I need to attach them, and the wedding is Saturday so I best get a move on!
Shelly says
It sounds like you will be busy at the conference. Hope you have a great trip and get to meet some great people.
I will be scheduling our homeschooling for the summer this week. We just need a general plan for a few days a week. I also need to plan out my projects around the house for this summer.
Praying for safe travel for you and your family.
Chelsea says
Good job going easy on yourself. I habitually try to cram too many things in at the last minute before a trip. I’ll be praying for your travel and your time at the conference. Have fun!
