It’s Day #10 of the 500 Things Decluttering Challenge. Today’s assignment was to tackle the laundry room.
Our laundry room is pretty sparse, so I went through our two cleaning products/household products closets.
Yes, we have two. Yes, I know that’s not #KonMari approved. Don’t judge.
I ended up coming up with 30 items we no longer need or use — or that needed to be tossed!! Yay! And yay for a Snow Day so I could wear my comfy pants!!
Today’s total: 30 items decluttered
Total for the entire challenge: 437 items so far!
I’m keeping a running total of all my items decluttered during this challenge as I thought it would be fun to not only do Daily Totals but also Overall Totals.
How many items did YOU declutter today?? Leave a comment and let us know.
P.S. You can read more about the Decluttering Course I’m going through here. If you’d like to join me in going through it in January and get the videos, information, and printables every day, you can go here to purchase and get it for just $5.99 right now!

Kathi,
I took your advice and took a few days off from decluttering. Restarted with 10 more good items today- old shoes I didn’t need, worn inserts, magazines, another expired food product we never used that I came across, and some tupperware I sent to a friend. We also made a big run to the salvation army and one to the dump so all the stuff I’ve decluttered the past few weeks is officially out of my house!

I had guests over the long weekend (MLK Day), so of course I didn’t get any decluttering done while they visited. Unfortunately, I also did not get back to decluttering after they left! So today I hit it hard and tried to catch up on the areas of the challenge I missed. I managed to get rid of 44 items from various rooms. Now I’m back on track and ready for tomorrow’s challenge!

We all have those times when it’s impossible to declutter. And having friends for a visit is always more important. Glad you got back on track!

No De-cluttering today. Garbage can, and everything else, under 2 plus feet of snow in PA:-)

I’m not doing the Challenge yet, but I do love the fun socks you’re wearing in the photos! 🙂

We don’t have a laundry room, our washer and dryer are in our kitchen. We did de-clutter the shelves above those though. Got 3 things off of them. Total for the 10 days – Over 359 items. On day 1, I quit counting after I hit the 100 mark.

I haven’t been doing the challenge myself, but I probably should have since it would be extra motivation! But, I’m excited because my mindset is changing even when I am going about normal housework. When giving our kitchen a good scrub down, I took time to declutter all the magnets and pictures on the front of our fridge, and only put back that ones that I really wanted to look at every day. Baby steps! 🙂
Kathi Lipp says
Baby steps is right! At least you’re moving forward. 🙂

Everyone is doing so great at the challenges! I’m so glad you’re all excited!

I have been slowly making my way through Kathi’s eCourse this month and am loving it! Going through two kitchen cupboards I was able to clear out 52 items.
Denise @ Finally Get Organized says
Most of my cleaning supplies are in my laundry room, so that’s mainly what I went through today. Tossed a bunch of old, unused, or ineffective products. My challenge total is now 421… hoping to hit 500 this weekend!

45 items today, 787 total.
