It’s been 70 and 80 degrees here this week in TN. Say what?!?
Nashville: It’s OCTOBER. The end of October, to be more specific.
Did you miss the weather memo that this is the time of year when we like to wear leggings and boots and scarves?? I think you may have.
I’ve tried to be a good sport and wear leggings. I really have. But I give up. Because as much as I love leggings and boots, I prefer not dripping in sweat more. #StillWaitingforFall
Here are 5 things I’m loving this week:
1) This Beautiful Gift From My Sister
This showed up in my mailbox last week. It was a belated birthday gift from my younger sister, Olivia. (Yes, she designed it and used a wood burner to create it!)
Not only is this one of my longtime favorite hymns, her gift came on the exact day that I so needed this reminder.
2) Getting to Spend Time With Michele
I may have only gotten to hug her neck and see her for 7 minutes in her hotel parking lot before we both had to head to our respective speaking events, but I GOT TO SEE MICHELE!!!! We’ve not seen each other since right after all her chemo and radiation earlier this year and it has been WAY too long!!
My week is now complete and I’m a happy, happy girl. Love you so much, friend!
3) A Sneak Peek at Some of Our Soon-to-Be-Released Products
I just got a sample of our a few of our new products that are coming soon — including this cute fridge magnet.
We created it with the hope that it would encourage women to remember: you matter. The world needs your gifts. The world needs your story. The world needs YOU!
4) Not Checking Email Until After 12:30 p.m.
I committed to this at the beginning of the week and it has been the best.thing.ever. Truly! And honestly not at all as hard as I thought it would be!
Read more about why I committed to this and the difference it has made here.
5) Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Once I’d had a bite or two of these roasted Brussels sprouts, I promptly reneged every last thing I’d said about how much I despised Brussels sprouts.
I was hooked. How come I had gone years of my life not knowing about this amazing-ness?? We tried a new recipe for them this week and I posted it here.
What about you? What are YOU loving this week? Tell us in the comments!
Denise (Life With the Lid Up) says
I’m loving that the Carolina Panthers are 6-0! Gotta love fall football.
Karen says
The average date for first frost here in West Texas is not until 10/31. I did finally get to wear my faux sheepskin slippers and a French terry tunic this week. So I know that feeling, of having great fall clothes and not being able to wear them just yet.
Lea Stormhammer says
Wow, does Olivia have a talent there! Thanks for sharing that with us!
My five things for this week:
1. The beautiful fall weather we’ve been having. I’ve been driving the long way to work just to enjoy it!
2. Acupuncture – it’s been an uncomfortable weekend but I am so grateful that it’s helping in the long run!
3. My children’s creativity – I’m loving all the things they have bee creating lately.
4. My husband blessing me by making dinner every night this last week. It was so very helpful to me and blessed me so much this last week.
5. Telephones! My mother broke her wrist this week and I’m so grateful that we’ve been able to stay in touch across the country as she’s planning for surgery this next week.
Can’t wait to see what other products you are releasing, Crystal! That magnet is super cute!

Oh! I’m so glad to hear that the acupuncture is helping you feel better!

I love your sister Olivia’s artwork! Does she sell these online? I’d love a link to her stuff if she does (and if not, I think she should!)
Crystal Paine says
She doesn’t and she was actually embarrassed that I shared it because she didn’t feel like it was as well done as she wanted it to be. But I couldn’t NOT share it because I love it so much! 🙂
Lisa says
My daughter just moved to Nashville not long ago with her family. 🙂 I’m going to send her your link.
The Frugal Exerciser says
I’m loving the gorgeous weather in Chicago and I love that my garden is still around and producing vegetables.
Crystal Paine says
Yay for garden veggies!

Hi! When you spoke in Acworth earlier this year, you had that necklace on and my mom and I adored it! I would like to possibly get it for her birthday. Can you tell me where it’s from?
One think I loved this week was listening to your periscopes…especially the one where you talked about your journey of growing in confidence. I also loved having the week off of work. I was able to spend lots of time with my kids. It felt like I was a stay-at-home mom again…I was in my element:)
Shaunta says
In speaking of the necklace you have on in your pic with Michele.
Crystal Paine says
Thank you so much for tuning in to the scopes! That means so much!
And the necklace was something from Dressing Your Truth. I just checked and it looks like they might not carry it anymore. 🙁
Victoria says
LOVE the wall hanging your sister made! She is very talented!
5 Things I Am Loving This Week
1. Canadian chocolate bars: We might have picked up a few too many last weekend when we were there visiting family.
2. The amazing show the fall leaves in Indiana have put on this week.
3. Renovation work on our new rental property got started yesterday day! My husband and our three children started tearing things apart. My hubby does the demo and rebuilding and then I do all the painting and accounting.
4. My new washing machine: I didn’t want to buy new washing machine, and I can’t help but find it ironic that it decided to die 15 minutes after my husband announced he was receiving a bonus check later in the month but—the new replacement we got rocks! It is so much quieter and it wrings the water out of the clothes so much better that drying is taking a lot less time. I am curious to see if our electric bill ends up going down.
5. English crumpets: I grew up with crumpets for breakfast on a regular basis but since moving to Indiana 13 years ago I have never been able to find them. A month ago I found them in Trader Joe’s. I am loving starting my day with one covered in butter and honey or butter and jam with a side of fresh fruit.
Crystal Paine says
Yay for renovating a new rental!! I can’t wait to hear and see more about that!
