Welcome to the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified} series!
From November 5 to December 7 (skipping the week of Thanksgiving), every weekday morning at 9 a.m. EST, I’ll be posting the day’s assignment and then every evening at 7 p.m. EST, I’ll be posting my progress and pictures, along with a link-up for you to share your progress and pictures, too.
Day 4 Assignment
::Get dressed in something that makes you feel great {there’s something about dressing in clothes that make you feel great that just gives you more energy and zest for life! Get your free copy of SarahMae’s ebook, Frumps to Pumps, if you need more motivation in this.}
::Sit down with a cup of coffee or tea, refer to your list of weekly goals, and make a list of no more than 5-7 specific things you want to accomplish today.
::Set the timer for 15 minutes and do a quick-clean of your most-used bathroom (if you have more than one bathroom!). Need specific directions? Read this article on How to Clean Your Bathroom in 15 Minutes.
::Set the timer for 10 minutes and quickly clean out underneath your beds and furniture. Remove clutter and trash and put it away or throw it away. If you have more time, move the furniture (if possible) and vacuum underneath.
Take pictures of your accomplishments and blog about them, if you’d like. And then come back here at 7 p.m. EST to share your progress posts or tell us about your accomplishments in a comment.
Are you joining me today?

My home is so messy that everything here will take me longer than suggested for each task! I am going to try though!

This is such a great idea! I just got started today but here is my post on my day of organizing! http://mrskstreasurehunt.blogspot.com/2012/11/a-little-organization.html

I can’t get the link to SarahMae’s book to open:(

I’m in, except I’m basing the “most used bathroom” as the one we go pee in the most. The master bath is the most used but I’m all clean because I met my husband for lunch. I don’t want to smell like cleaner. So, I’ll clean our half bath!!!!! The bed challenge should be easy as my daughter has a daybed with drawers and the only thing (I think) under our bed is my husbands Christmas present.

I am LOVING this challenge. I was gone for days 2 and 3 and will probably be gone some other days during the series but it is SO nice to have guidance/suggestions/encouragement to get stuff done around the house! I am a new SAHM to an 11 week old baby girl and after being in a stressful, gotta-get-it-done job outside the home before she showed up, I find I need a little extra motivation to stop enjoying the relaxation of being home (something I haven’t ever gotten to enjoy until now!) and get my butt in gear to do things around the house. Aka using nap times well. 😉 Thanks again!
By the way, here is my post for today: http://reprezent98201.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/catching-up-after-being-gone/

I’m joining you again today.
I’ve made my goals list and I’m already making progress at http://proverbs215.blogspot.com/2012/11/21-days-to-more-disciplined-life-day-8.html
But tell me, why is is that the cup of coffee is the motivation for getting on the treadmill some mornings? Today I actually had to make the coffee and the smell of it brewing gave me the incentive to go do a 30 minute workout. I just kept saying– you’ll have earned that coffee goodness once you get on the treadmill…go on, do just a mile like Crystal says if you’re not up for more…
I’ve got a few catch up cleaning assignments from the past few days so I’m setting a timer for 1 hour this afternoon starting with today’s assignment and whipping through as many of the past few days as I can get to in that time. Cannot wait to report back tonight.

We put the children’s beds on the floor so they could stop putting things under them 🙂
Stephanie says
I have under bed boxes under all of our beds! I need the extra storage for seasonal clothes, blankets etc. I have very little storage space in my house. My son still manages to cram things that don’t belong under there though!
Lea Stormhammer says
Thanks for the laugh this comment gave me Brandy!
Our kids have captain’s beds with 2 drawers under. One holds out of season clothes, the others sheets and extra blankets.

I SO wanted to participate in this but am suffering from adrenal fatigue and insomnia. Anyone who reads this and can pray for me, I would appreciate it. Hope you all are more productive than me. 🙂
Crystal says
You just get rest and take care of yourself, okay? I just prayed for you. {Hugs!}
Stacy says
Said a prayer for you, Sarah. I hope you feel better soon.
Stephanie says
I am so sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you get better soon!
