If you missed the Day 16 assignment, you can read it here.
We had a great and productive day today — even though my alarm clock didn’t go off and I never made it out of my lounge pants! When I woke up and realized that somehow my alarm clock had failed to go off, I just decided to not let it defeat me, like it sometimes has when I’ve overslept. Instead, I revamped my morning schedule, skipped my long morning run, and tried to make the most of the day that was left.
And the positive attitude worked wonders because while I didn’t get everything done I’d hoped to do today, we got the important things done, and I spent quality time with each of the kids.
But tomorrow, I think I’m setting like three alarms, just in case… because I really do find my days run so much better when I get up early, exercise, and get showered and dressed before the rest of the household gets up! 🙂
Oh and I got my vents cleaned, too:
How did you do on Day 16? I’d love to have you share your progress and success with us so we can be inspired. Either post a link to your blog post below or leave a comment with your update.

We had trouble getting moving yesterday as well although our alarm clocks did work properly. I did find a bit of Lego “treasure” in one of our vents along with a lot of yuckiness.

LOL you don’t want to see the before and after of my vents. I try to keep up them semi regularly the worst is the spots on carpets because all my vent covers are rusted (have been since we bought the house) so they are horrifically hard to clean. I keep looking at buying new ones and go walking down the isle at Lowes and then have a heart attack when I see the cost 🙂
Yeah I’d have to murder my alarm clock if it didn’t go off. I have to be up at 6 otherwise the children won’t get up for their breakfast and buses in time. My oldest is the worst … preteen oy to think when she’s a teenager I think she’ll spend it in a glass case and we’ll have to rename her to sleeping beauty.

Crystal,
You make me smile because you still accomplish way more then me in a day!! My day started off late too! I woke early and discovered my husband still in bed! I woke him but fell back to sleep myself. We had a very late night going to see The Story and volunteer for World Vision!!! Then it was off to two appointments, home long enough for lunch, off to get the kids, and then home with the crew and time to make dinner!! I did manage to get the dishwasher loaded and ran after realizing I had no more clean spoons or bowls this morning, due to a very busy weekend. But good news was the kids did some chores which helped and we had dinner thanks to preparing the taco meat ahead and freezing! Vents will be another day. We spent the evening as a family decorating the tree that has sat bare for too many days!!

My vents weren’t too bad as I have been keeping up with cleaning them out about once a month since completed the first time through this series. But I hadn’t been doing the cold air returns and oh my they were just terrible.
I know when I don’t get up on time I usually feel like I am running to catch up all day long. Good for you that you decided to let some things go and get done as much as you could. I need to work on doing that myself more often.
