When I went to update my goals list this week, I was quite surprised to realize that I had actually crossed everything off my goals list for last week. WOOHOO! That feels so good.
We had such a great time at the homeschool conference. I got to spend time with old friends (pictured above — getting to hang out with my long-time friend, Trina Holden), meet new friends, listen to encouraging sessions, shop for homeschool curriculum with Jesse, hang out with my kids, and be inspired by a number of speakers. All in all, it was a great weekend!
Last week’s goals:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Continue on with our Morning Time routine.
2. Write a love note to Jesse.
3. Attend the Teach Them Diligently Conference in Nashville & decide on homeschool curriculum for next year.

I absolutely LOVE that you make it a priority to invite your single male friends to share meals with your family. Women are often (not always, but more often) “covered” in this department, but single young men can “fall through the cracks,” and not see enough examples of how to be Godly leaders of a family. Men need fellowship just as much as we women do!

Wow, this is great! I just started the habit of writing down my goals for the month/week and it has been very eye opening. I am looking forward to becoming more intentional through this process of focusing on them and writing them down. It has also helped me be accountable 🙂

Hey, just wondering what you came up with in terms of solutions for the cafe at church? My husband is a youth pastor and we are trying to work out the kinks in our youth coffee shop as well… I could use all the suggestions you could share! 🙂 We’d also like to introduce frappachinos to the menu if you have a suggestion on what works for the ice for y’all!
Thanks so much!

I researched new commercial coffee machines (because we need a new machine) and purchased one that we think will be a good fit and then researched new coffees to try and picked a few brands/kinds for us to use that are quality coffee and are within the budget.
{Our campus pastor has been completely in charge of the cafe details up to this point and just hasn’t had capacity to research and work on this stuff so I’m excited to be able to help him carry this load and carry out the vision he has for making the cafe a real gathering place/community-building part of our church on Sunday mornings.}

As a young single myself I love your goal number 8. It is so encouraging to be loved on during this season.

Sounds like you had a great week. It’s always nice when you get everything accomplished on your list.

I just love seeing little bits and pieces of your daily life. Thanks for sharing. Would love to know what curriculum you chose for next year!
Crystal Paine says
For the girls, we’re using Sonlight Core for History/Bible/Geography/Handwriting/Reading & AOP Monarch for Science, Math, and Language Arts. Silas will be sitting in on Sonlight Core with us, doing AOP for Math, and doing Hooked on Phonics for Writing/Reading/Language Arts.

Is it just me or does your friend look identical to Jessica Fisher from Life as Mom?!!
Crystal Paine says
I thought the EXACT same thing after I posted it! I WISH I had gotten to spend time with Jessica, too!
Lindsay says
So what did you pick out for your homeschool curriculum? Next year will be our first year!

{Jesse’s teaching/overseeing AOP and extracurricular activities and I’m teaching Sonlight and Hooked on Phonics. We had so much fun divvying teaching responsibilities and curriculum up and figuring out what we feel like will be a great fit for our kids and family this next year. We’ll see!}

Great job getting so much accomplished this past week!
I would love to know what home school curriculum you chose for next year! Maybe you could do a post on it??
I’m sure many would love to read about your plans for next year 🙂

I managed to get caught up with my running goal this week to all but one mile. Hoping this week to finish catching up this week and do the 25 miles for this week. I also am just 50 words short of my goal of at least 30,000 words for the ebook I am working on. Now I am shooting for 35,000.

Cheering you on!
Crystal Paine says
Woohoo on the ebook!
Vickie @Vickie's KITCHEN AND GARDEN says
So great you got it all done. I didn’t quite make it -but almost.
Lana says
Got it all done last week! The big thing that happens this week is the end of the attic clean out. We are stoked that we have almost finished this huge chore! The rest is pretty much the same old stuff except cooking for the homeless shelter this week and a birthday dinner out with our youngest. How in the world did our baby get to 24???
Jen says
Yay! So happy for you that you accomplished a lot in the past week! 🙂
I normally just do monthly goals, but I think I’m going to have to start doing weekly goals because I just realized I am super behind for this month. I need to focus on reading the Bible more! And writing in my prayer journal. I have done well with my reading goals, so I just need to apply that to the Bible.
Are you going to do any posts on how you and your family celebrate Easter?
Crystal Paine says
We usually keep Easter pretty simple… usually doing a few fun things that week, spending time talking about the meaning of Easter, attending a Good Friday service at church, attending special services at church, and this year we’re celebrating Easter meal with some dear friends here.

Good for you on your goals! Last week I bombed a lot of mine but the weather was nice and we had a lot of memory making experiences so it was still a win. Sometimes you can’t judge the week based off of how many things you crossed off (even though I like to)! My major goal this week is to get my new series “Refresh & Renew” up and going on the blog and to enjoy the weather. Have a wonderful week, Crystal and thanks for the link-up!
