I’m so encouraged to look over my Goals for 2012 and see that I’m slowly chipping away at them. Of, if you’ve blogged about it, leave your direct link below. Let’s cheer each other on to live purposeful and productive lives!
You can download a free customizable weekly goal-planning sheet here.
Finally started my weekly goal posts! I had to organize my life a little but I am back on track! 🙂
I have been following you for a while now and just started posting goals on my own blog. It really helps me get the things I want to do done each week. Thanks for the goal sheet I use it.
I love your goal setting posts. It inspired me to write my own for this year and I have a whole binder with goals in 6 areas including DIY goals. I just completed my January goal of making homemade ricotta cheese and it was so easy and yummy! By writing my goals down I have been more purposeful in what I do with my time, such as exercising and staying in the Word and in prayer to name a few. Thanks so much for your wonderful blog Crystal. (Oh, I also love reading about your kids and homeschooling adventures. I homeschooled my kids for 13 years and miss the years of when they were litte and doing all those fun projects and read-alouds. Thanks for sharing your family with me!)
Thank you so much for your kind encouragement–and way to go on your goals!
Love that you are reading Boxcar Children to your kids, one of my favorite series. The first book is my favorite. Hope your kids are enjoying it.
I’ve been a long time blog reader, but I think this is my first time to join in a link-up! My post is long and includes goals for the entire year, but I hope to do a weekly Monday post with goals. Thanks for inspiring me on so many levels, Crystal!
So cool that you are going to be on TV! Did I miss that post?! When will you be on?
It’s supposed to be next Thursday, February 2.
How exciting that you are going to be on TV! I can’t wait to watch it 🙂
Thanks also for all the inspiration you give everyday! I’ve started writing down goals for myself and I think it’s really helping get things accomplished.
Your weekly goal posts are some of my favorites. As a work-at-home wife and mama of young children, I find them so encouraging. 🙂

Could you maybe expand on how you differentiate between “goals” and “to dos”. I’m trying to find a way that my “goals” don’t involve scrubbing toilets 🙂
I am new at blogging and new at weekly goals, but I love the idea of being accountable and tracking my progress through 2012. Your weekly posts last year were very encouraging to me. I always thought my weekly goals should be super detailed and lengthy….that didn’t work out so well. I am enjoying writing goals to help me develop better habits and to live more intentionally.
I just submitted my link of weekly goals. This is my first time trying it out so I went with just a few goals.
3 Cheers for “Loving the Little Years!” That is a great book, I would also recommend “Shopping for Time.”
Well, I did really well with my goals last week. So much so that now I am feeling overwhelmed. LOL. I am trying to get my craft business going, created a facebook page (http://tinyurl.com/theredpoppy), and I am adding more and more to my etsy shop (www.etsy.com/shop/redpoppycrafts. ALL of this was inspired by reading Crystal’s new book.
I’m so glad you were inspired! Just remember to pace yourself so you don’t burn out! 🙂
So proud of your progress!
I love the weekly goal posts!
It’s so inspiring to see everyone’s progress.
Congrats on your upcoming TV appearance, break a leg (not really, but isn’t that what you’re supposed to say?).
We’ve broken our goals up into monthly projects so our weekly goals pretty much stay the same…designated times to work on bigger outcomes.
It’s working really well for us.
I update/blog my weekly progress.
Thank you so much for all you do!
Thanks for the weekly link up. Unfortunately, the stomach bug hit my family this last week and is continuing into this week. Boo. But even though I didn’t feel like I accomplished much last week, I still see some stuff crossed off! Hooray!
I am enjoying this practice of setting weekly goals! Thank you for your weekly inspiration!
I just tried the homemade detangler over the past few weeks.
First time: way too much (thick) conditioner, not enough water. It would clog up the sprayer.
Second time: still way too much (thinner) conditioner and added some curly hair gel with the water. Worked better, but still too thick.
Third time: just a couple squirts of conditioner, a couple squirts of hair gel, and the rest water. Works AMAZING then I just diffuse the hair and my little girl has curls galore.
We get TONS of compliments on her curls. We never use shampoo, just conditioner and scrub it. Her hair does not look dry or greasy, and is only frizzy if Daddy brushes through it!
So excited to be putting your goal planning in action!
Looks like you had fun last week in FL! Here are my weekly goals: http://mylittlebitoflife.com/?p=2940
Crystal, you amaze me! HOW do you fit it all in – AND stay sane? Have you posted about what your schedule looks like at all? You’re an inspiration to me – I just can’t understand how you are able to get it all done!?!
Just please remember that I have a wonderful team of people who help with the blog and business stuff. Slowly I’ve worked up to a point where I can delegate a lot of different things so that I can focus on those things that I do best. I am not doing this by myself–otherwise, I would have run myself ragged a long time ago!
Thanks so much for the response – can you tell me some of the things you’ve been able to outsource and delegate? I’m getting to the point of needing to do that but am struggling with exactly how to go about it…
I linked up! It’s been a while since I did a weekly goals post and I can’t believe how much I feel like I don’t get done during the week without a weekly goal list! =)
My main goal for the year is turning our master bedroom back to a place of rest. It has become “dumping central” for our house. Mainly I think because it is the one room of the house that guests do not see, so when I am in a hurry cleaning for the arrival of guests I dump all the “what do I do with…” stuff in our room, and it just stays there. I think it will be on my “weekly to do list” for the next few months at least.
Please let us know when you’ll be on the 700 Club, and I’ll set my DVR to record it!
It’s supposed to be Thursday, February 2. But things can always change when it comes to TV stuff. You’re very kind to want to watch me; it might be painful! 🙂
Oh Crystal, I don’t want to miss your airing on the 700 Club. PLEASE remind us just before it airs.
Blessings,
Toni
I am reading “Loving the Little Years” right now too!
Just out of curiosity where do you write down your goals? Just on the blog or somewhere else to see everyday? Thanks! Love everything you do!
I find the 700 club to be such a divisive “Christian” program. I have always really enjoyed your blog because of your encouraging christian message. It saddens me that you would promote this type of show and I’m curious as to why you have chosen to do so.
I’m not “promoting” it, per se. I’m just appearing on it as a guest because they requested that I do so. I don’t receive any monetary compensation for being on their show nor am I required to promote it, I just mentioned it in my goals because it’s a project on my list this week. 🙂 My desire is not to cause contention or division but to just inspire their audience with hope and help, just as I seek to do here everyday.
Thanks so much for commenting so I could clear up the misunderstanding!
I’m trying really hard this week to NOT spend any money (my default when hubby is out of town). My kiddos and I are looking forward to doing lots of fun things without spending any money. It’s a fun challenge! Spending money is easy. Not spending money is way harder!
I am so excited about your 700 club appearance!!
I feel like I’ve probably commented on 50 of your posts saying this (and once I sent an email, because I was just so grateful) but, you are really helping and inspiring me to take control of my life. I’m attempting to go cash only (And finding out that it’s not easy). I’ve been making a weekly goal list every week (and only crossing off half the items each week) and I have been trying to get healthy, just because I want to do it for me. So I clicked on your Couch to 5K link here, (because my treadmill is getting dusty…) And what do you know? I think I can do it. I am starting today, in fact. So here I am, thanking you once again for pushing me in the right direction.
I love the idea of goals instead of resolutions. We were supposed to close on the sale of our house last Thursday, but Tuesday morning the sale fell through. All of our energy had been getting ready for it and the move to another town. When it didn’t work out, we kind of let everything go so we could re-group and help the kids understand why we weren’t moving yet. NOW, I can get back to my goal list this week without the guilt of having not accomplished much last week.
This week I want to have one-one time with each of my kids and my hubby, get 75% of the motivated mom list done, make sure everything is checked off our “show the house” cleaning list, schedule 2 more shows for my business, exercise 2x, read 1/2 hour 4x, and really take a look around and see what ministry I need to be involved in while “waiting” to move.
Thanks for being open. We are all in the same boat of trying and not always being successful, but we tend to think we are the only ones. Keep shooting for those goals, you can do it. 🙂
Last week did not go at all as planned after a stomach virus hit each member in our family on a different day. Thankfully we were all able to recover over the weekend and I was actually looking forward to this Monday morning as a fresh start. Best of wishes on the 700 Club!
you know what I think is most encouraging to others about you posting your progress each week, you move forward even when you don’t get to put a line through each item! Seeing that it’s okay to continue working towards a goal even when it’s missed is motivating.
Crystal,
I’m so excited for your appearance on the 700 Club!
Congratulations on you upcoming TV appearance! That is awesome Crystal! 🙂 Love Mother-Daughter Date Nights with my girls too!
Thanks for the link up! Having the weekly goals set and posted have really help me stay more accountable which means I am also making progress in the right direction. 🙂
When are you going to be on the 700 club?
Sorry for the comment. When I click on the comment button, there were no comments posted so I thought I was the first to ask. I will keep my ears perked to watch you.
Last week I was sick all week, so I accomplished very little. I did feed my family every night, and do school every day. But no working out or anything extra.
This morning’s work-out was quite a challenge after missing a week! LOL!!
But I am just glad to be feeling better and get back on track.
I’m glad you’re feeling better–and I love your attitude!
Any goals for this week have been trumped by a sick *almost* 1 year old. All focus has been shifted to getting her better so we don’t have to postpone her birthday party Sunday.
Will you make sure to let us know when your TV appearance is going to be? Looking forward to seeing it!
It’s supposed to be a live appearance on Thursday, February 2. Things can always change with TV, but that’s the plan right now.
so are you coming to Virginia Beach to do it?
Yes, that’s the plan.
Great! Will set my DVR! : )
This year, my goal is to do small things to keep myself and my family on track. Big plans and changes just do not seem to work for me. I started 3 simply things to help me stay on track! I am happy to report, so far so good.
The goal I am most excited about is to volunteer at my sons school this week. The goal I am least excited about is entering my daily meals.
Glad to see you’re going to be on TV! I have wondered if you had thought of going on any of the “secular” morning shows like “Good Morning America,” etc.? They are always doing money-saving segments, and I’m sure it would be a boost to your book sales!
That’s a possibility for the future. I’m thankful to be starting on a smaller scale with a smaller show and we’ll see how that goes. TV is definitely *way* outside my comfort zone! 🙂
I am stuck in the rut of doing the same thing every day. Right on down to the same menu for each week. I have been trying to menu plan some different things. Reading about how you are doing something new or stepping out of your comfort zone is inspiring!
Thanks for your kind encouragement. I’ve done a lot of things in the past two years that have been way outside of my comfort zone. I’m learning that the more I challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone, the more I grow as a person. It’s hard, but good. {Remind me of that when I’m freaking out about being on live TV next week! :)}
Congratulations! So excited for you to be on and I LOVE the 700 Club. I grew up watching the 700 Club. So I will share a bit of advice (from my experiences of being on national TV & live TV this past year) Concentrate on the host and realize you are just chatting with them. It’s just a conversation you would have with anyone. Hope this helps you.
One of my goals this month was packing because we were moving to a new place. We moved a few days ago and I am happy that I can cross this task off my list 🙂
