I had a great time at the Nashville Teach Them Diligently Conference. It was so fun to meet some of you there!
While it’s been a wonderful few months, I’m also excited that my spring conference season is over, my book editing is done, and summer break is almost here! We’re looking forward to a time to regroup, refresh, and recharge. And I’m also looking forward to having some “lazy” and quiet summer days without looming deadlines. 🙂

Do you have plans to read the Nancy Drews books with your girls? They are such great books for each generation since they were written! I know they were some of my favorites as a child!
Crystal says
Yes, they are on our list to check out!
Carol@simple_catholic says
Now that my husband is home from the hospital and doing well, I can get back on track. 🙂 Looking forward to getting some goals done for this week!
Katie Ray says
You mentioned pilates program?! I’d love to hear which one…am looking for something new, and haven’t been able to find much in the pilates realm. Thanks.
Crystal says
I’m trying out some YouTube videos and DVDs from the library to decide which one to do. My chiropractor suggested it for my posture — something that I really need to work on!
Ashley says
When do you plan out your weekly goals and about how long does it take you to do it?
Crystal says
On the weekends, typically. It usually takes me about 15 minutes — and it is so worth it!
Jamie Rohrbaugh says
Glad to hear the conference went well!
Michelle says
Just read “The Power of Prayer and Fasting” and it’s really good. A good one to add to your list.
Jenny says
I want to suggest a “sneak peek behind the scenes of a photoshoot” post and ask for clues/details and DATES about your upcoming book release. So exciting- congratulations on maintaining all of this. You’re really building so many wonderful tools to help others. Thank you!
Anna @ Frugal For You says
We loved Trumpet of the Swan. If you can get it on audio, it’s even better because you hear the swan playing the trumpet! The version we borrowed from the library was also read by EB White.
On another note, would you mind sharing how you schedule preparations for your speaking engagements, homeschooling, and reading time, among many other things you do. You’ve shared your schedule in the past but would love to learn more.
Crystal says
Thanks for the audio tip!
And I’ve got a video on that very question coming tomorrow or Wednesday. 🙂

What do you think of “Candle in the Darkness”? I enjoyed it a great deal when I read it a year or so ago. I read the first two books in the series as well, but I did not like either one of them as much as this one.
Crystal says
I’ve not started it yet, but am excited to start it — hopefully this week!
Whitney @ Making the Journey Count says
Oops…somehow managed to mess up my link when I linked up here. Should have been http://makingthejourneycount.com/weekly-goals-2/
I am amazed at how much more focused I am and how much more I get done since writing my goals down and posting them on my blog! Using my blog as an accountability tool has helped tremendously!
Trish says
I love some summer time down time. I finish my last speaking event tomorrow for until the fall. Then we are heading to our first of many summer vacations next week. Yeah!!!
Shelly says
I did much better this week on keeping up with my reading and I am actually reading two books at this time. We are finishing up our homeschooling for this year this week. We will take a break and then start a much lighter school schedule for the summer. I don’t know who is more excited myself or the kids for the summer break.
Crystal says
I’m so proud of you!
Katie says
You will love “Candle in the Darkness” and you will HAVE to add the other 2 books from that series to your list! Each book is good on its own but it is so neat how all the stories intertwine. By far my favorite Lynn Austin books!
Amber says
I agree!!
Crystal says
Oh yay! I can’t wait to start it!
Karen says
I have to get back to writing my goals down. One goal I accomplished was an interview with a financial expert. Writing things down really help me make this happen. It’s nice to read what others are looking to do. Thanks for the inspiration.
Molly says
Girl, take some time to just BREATHE! lol Be sure you make that sleep a priority… I’m sure it’s long overdue.
Today I started getting up earlier (I’ve been reading back through your Make the Most of Your Morning posts) and I’ve gotten sooo much more done today. Thank you for helping people like me get things in perspective!
Crystal says
Yes, breathing and sleeping are high on the priority list right now.:) Although, truthfully, the past five months have gone so much more smoothly and calmly than I could have ever imagined. That’s thanks to God’s grace and the amazing help of my team!
Abby says
I haven’t set any goals for a few weeks. Our summer is shaping up to be much busier than our spring, though, so I’m afraid if it doesn’t get put on paper, it won’t get done.
Nicci says
Thanks Crystal for the link up! I am amazed at how much you get read, I just started blogging and it seems like my reading time is eaten up by my blogging time, I am hoping I will be able to get into a better groove soon and fit reading back in, right now I’m just reading my Bible, which is most important of course. 🙂
Crystal says
I typically read a chapter in the mornings on my warm-up walk on the treadmill and a chapter or two or three in the evenings before bed. And then I usually read for 2-3 hours on Sunday afternoons (I take Sundays off from blogging). That doesn’t always happen every day/every week, but that’s what I shoot for. 🙂
Michelle G. says
Your link for the 24/6 book was wrong; it brought me to “Lady in Waiting: A Novel.”
Crystal says
Whoops on that! Though Lady in Waiting is good, too. Just finished it recently!
Jillian Kay says
I’m curious how your goals change in the summer. Do you do anything differently to celebrate the “break”?
Crystal says
Yes, we relax our school load and focus more on fun things and fun outings.
Christal Beyer says
My goals for the week:
1. Get rid of this hideous cold through home remedies.
2. Mow the lawn
3. Wash the bedding.
4. Read the first chapter in Psalms.
5. Pull weeds in the yard with my little guy, Gabriel.
6. Sweep the stairs and front entry.
7. Wash kitchen and bathroom floors.
8. Clean hamster cages (new pets!)
9. Clean kitty box.
10. Do a general clean sweep of the house before bed at night.
*Thanks for giving your readers this challenge, Crystal!
I certainly need it. 🙂
Crystal says
Sounds like you’ve got a great plan for this week — and I hope you start feeling better soon! {I kicked my cold last week with elderberry syrup and carrot/orange/ginger juice.}
Christal Beyer says
Wow. I’ve never heard of elderberry syrup. If I may ask, where do you purchase it?
Thanks for the encouragement. 🙂
Crystal says
I first discovered it through a CVS deal. You can also get it on Amazon, at a health food store, or from Vitacost.
