My Crockpot, which I bought for a steal at a surplus and salvage store, cracked without warning last spring. Your post reminds me I must replace it and soon!

  • Why didn’t my mom know about these when I was a kid?! LOL! I love these ideas – excited to try them.

I’ll have to try of these, though 5+ hours for lean chicken breasts is way too long though. Anything more than 2ish results in such dry chicken! Thighs are fattier and can tolerate more time, or a cut of meat that has marbled fat and connective tissue that needs time to break down.

Crystal, I love that you’ve been sharing so many freezer and freezer/crockpot meals. I tried freezer-to-oven one a couple of weeks ago and it really changed my food budget, not to mention my stress level after getting off work. I’m trying to remember all the ones you’ve led us to so I can save them for future months of stress-free cooking. The shopping lists have been a huge help! Thanks for all you do!

I’ve tried crockpot freezer recipes before and have found that when i use chicken breasts and cook it in the crockpot for 4-6 hours, per the instructions, that they usually end up really dry. is there a way to remedy this?
