It was so good to be home all last week! I even ended up having a few days where I stayed home all day long — which was a nice change of pace after almost two months of lots of activities and travel.
We’re excited to have another week at home this week! I think we’re starting to really feel settled in here in TN and we’re starting to get on a good schedule, too. That’s helped me not only feel a little more organized but also helped me be able to get back to accomplishing more of my goals!
This Week’s Goals:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Read 4 chapters of Brother Andrew: Behind Enemy Lines aloud to the kids.
2. Take the kids to the library.
3. Write a love note to Jesse.4. Finish embroidering quilt square for my sister’s baby quilt. {I made some progress on this, but didn’t get it all done — hopefully this week!}
Personal Goals
5. Work on memorizing & reviewing Romans 1:1-29.
6. Make a hair appointment(I’ve been putting this off ever since we moved — finally got one scheduled for this Tuesday!)7. Finish reading The Traitor’s Wife, Breathe, I Thought It Was Just Me (But It Isn’t), and The Measure of Success. {I did a lot of reading this past week, but didn’t even up finishing any books — hopefully this coming week I’ll have more progress to report here!}
Business Goals
8. Work on writing a new ebook. {I decided to shelve this for a week since I wasn’t feeling inspired for it!}
9. Write one guest post for another blog.10. Shoot one video for my YouTube channel.

Hey Crystal! I’ve been reading the archives before I go to bed at night. Last night I read the post about the Tyndale Rewards program. I just signed up less than 15 minutes ago and I have already earned enough points to get a free book. Thanks so much for all you do daily on your blog! God Bless!

I hope you get to your You Tube video this week. I haven’t made one in a while but with a little more free time this summer and better lighting from the sunshine, I’m hoping to get a few done.
Jennifer says
Will you give us any hints at what the product will be?
Per the video, I’m curious if you aim for a certain time length when you do a video? I’ve heard shorter is better.
Crystal Paine says
More details coming soon… we’ve actually got a few different things we’re working on, but only one that’s almost ready for launch. 🙂
I usually aim for 3 minutes or less on videos.
Denise @ My House, My Rules says
I am so happy to see you back to writing on the blog regularly. I also especially love these kinds of ‘goals’ posts as I think they help to keep us all accountable. Question – do you plan to do another 30 day declutter challenge like you did last year?
Crystal Paine says
I may do another 30-day decluttering challenge sometime… but probably not for a bit since we did pretty massive decluttering before we moved.

Every week that I read your goal post is another week my “wish list” grows on paperbackswap.com. Love your book choices. I read Love Idol last month ( I got it free from Tyndale Rewards a while back) I really liked it.
Crystal Paine says
😉 I started Love Idol yesterday and am already on chapter four. Really good and thought-provoking.
Jenny @ Women With Intention says
I agree with the growing “wishlist” so please keep listing your reading goals! I started, “Margin” by Richard Swenson after your recommendation last year. I am really enjoying it, as I have most of the books that you have recommended!
Crystal Paine says
So glad you’re enjoying Margin… and that I’m giving you some book ideas. That makes me so happy!

It has been a long time since I’ve posted my goals, and a long time since I’ve felt like I’ve gotten anything meaningful done. Then reading Crystal’s “Say Goodbye to Survival Mode” reminded me how important accountability is in acheving our goals, so I am back to actually writing my goals down and posting them. 🙂
I totally get the “lack of inspiration” you felt in writing your ebook, Crystal. I am also trying to write an ebook that I plan to offer free on my website, but I just haven’t been feeling the inspiration, either! I really want to crack down, and hopefully get the rough draft done this week, though.
Crystal Paine says
So glad to hear you’re back to writing out goals — yay!!
Glad to hear I’m not alone in lacking the inspiration last week. I’m hoping we both have more inspiration this week! 🙂
T2Nashville says
Crystal – I’m not sure what area of Nashville you live, but I highly recommend the Franklin Farmers Market. The one in downtown Nashville is OK, but it’s really big and can be so overwhelming. Franklin’s is only open on Saturdays from 8am-1pm, and it’s just made up of local farmers, craftsmen, and the Amish community. It’s where I pick up my CSA each week, and I love the quality and price of the fresh veggies they have to offer. They also have Ellie’s Doughnut truck there – hot donuts made right in front of you! As well as a couple of food trucks for your b’fast or lunch needs. I think this is something you and your family would enjoy. Just a suggestion! P.S. I’m in Spring Hill, and would love the opportunity to meet you sometime. So happy to have you in TN!
Crystal Paine says
We’re so happy to be here! And thank you so much for the Franklin recommendation. That’s the one we were looking at checking out this week. Glad to hear it’s a good one!
T2Nashville says
You’re very welcome! Please let me know if I can assist you in any way to make settling in easier for you. P.S. I saw you did Carnton – if you haven’t done Carter House, you should! A great video of the Battle of Franklin history that helped me understand it even better. NO IDEA what a pivotal battle this was in the Civil War!
ronnie says
Thanks for sharing. Always fun to review someone else’s goals and progress!
Amy says
Such a good idea to have your goals split into the different areas of life. I need to do that. I also love the days when I don’t leave the house. Sitting around playing a board game with the kids and firing up the grill is my idea of a perfect Saturday night!
