After anticipating it and planning for it since November, it’s finally moving week! Our house is all packed up and almost all the last-minute details are done, so we’re excited to load up the moving truck, drive to TN, and start the adventure!
Since most of this week will be spent moving and unpacking boxes and settling into our new home in TN, I’m just going to set six goals again for this week:
Last Week’s Goals:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Finish packing up the house.
2. Write a love note to Jesse.
3. Take the kids on a fun outing.Personal Goals
4. Work on memorizing & reviewing Romans 1:1-29.
5. Exercise four times. {I only got in exercising three times, but does packing boxes count for something?! ;)}
6. Finish reading Secrets of Dynamic Communication, The Busy Homeschool Mom’s Guide to Daylight, and Chasing Francis. {I basically didn’t pick up a book all week long — I think that may be some sort of record! And one I hope to break this week! ;)}
This Week’s Goals:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Move! 🙂
2. Write a love note to Jesse.
3. Read Captured on the High Seas aloud to the kids (while in the car driving to TN).
Personal Goals
4. Work on memorizing & reviewing Romans 1:1-29.
5. Exercise four times.
6. Finish reading Secrets of Dynamic Communication, The Busy Homeschool Mom’s Guide to Daylight, and Chasing Francis.
How did you do on last week’s goals? What are your goals for this week? I’d love to have you share your progress on last week’s goals and your goals for this coming week in the comments. Of, if you’ve blogged about it, leave your direct link below. Let’s cheer each other on to live purposeful and productive lives! You can download a free customizable weekly goal-planning sheet here.

You can expect a lot more personal/peek-into-our-life type posts after we move. 🙂

Wow. It’s finally here! Prayers for safe travels and a beautiful new beginning.

Guess this answers the question about when you are moving.
Congrats on the move to the Volunteer State!
I sure hope when you wrote “while in the car driving to TN” you meant “while riding in the car!” Yikes…I’ll warn other drivers if not.
Crystal Paine says
My apologies if you asked the question about when we were moving and I didn’t answer. I thought I’d answered everyone… but it’s very possible it could have slipped through the cracks.
And I use the term “while driving” referring to us all “driving” in the car together. 🙂 In reality, I typically do very little driving myself on trips since my husband loves to drive!
Matt McWilliams says
I figured that 🙂 I say the same thing.
I usually drive on trips but Tara usually drives around town because we take her car and it’s too small for me in the front with Aracelli in her car seat.

We just sold our house (in a whopping 48 days!) and had to be out in a short time frame for the buyer’s, 3 weeks from the accepted offer. It has been a jammed packed 3 weeks with finishing up the sale requirements on the house, finding an apartment and storage unit, packing with a toddler, and getting moved out. We just moved this past weekend to an apartment short term while our next house is being built. We are building in a new area where they haven’t even broke ground yet, but we will be the first built there. We are very excited! But, getting to this point was so stressful. We close with our buyer’s this afternoon. Once we complete that, my stress level is over! Then it’s just time to let the money sit in our account and wait for the new house to be done.
Anyways, even though we are a tiny bit ahead of you in moving, it was nice to read your posts regarding it and go along with you in the journey. Moving is tiring! But, once you get to your new area and start getting your belongings unpacked, it starts to feel exciting and like home again. I wish you all the best of luck, a safe trip, and that everything arrives in good shape! Enjoy it, it’s a memorable event for your children as they grow.

Moving is possibly better than other forms of excercise! Carrying tons of things back and forth from truck to house is a workout! I hope you love your new place and that you start to feel settled quickly!

Thanks so much for your kind encouragement!

I hope your move goes well and you have a great week.

Just an idea for your drive – we LOVE books on CD’s. The actors who read them are usually fantastic with all the character voices and everything. If you have Audible.com, you could hook your phone up to the car audio system and let someone else do the reading for you.
Crystal Paine says
Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Anna @ The DIY Mom says
We too love audio books for car trips.
May your move go smoothly and may you all have peace about leaving and excitement for new beginnings.

I didn’t blog about my goals or anything, but I was just looking back over my goals for April. It’s freaky – I set stretch goals and then realized they were a little TOO stretch. I stressed myself out all month and didn’t feel like I was going to make it. (Totally need to be more realistic). But looking back, I realized that I actually got most of them done just by working on them one piece at a time each day. Sometimes in just 15 or 30 minutes here and there. Yay! It’s like this intentional living thing actually works or something – even when it doesn’t feel like it! 😉
Jamie Rohrbaugh says
Oh yeah – and welcome to Tennessee! 🙂
Crystal Paine says
Woohoo! Way to go!

I wish that I could read in the car. Makes me sick. Ugh!

I’m blessed that most of the time, I can read in the car… which makes car-riding so much more enjoyable. 🙂
