Saw you’re reading Sarah’s Key. Get your tissues ready! 🙁 great book!
Crystal says
🙂 I’m kind of scared to read it… but I’ve heard such great things about it that I have to!
Shelly says
The 12 months to a healthier you challenge sound like just the challenge for me. I need to lose some weight, I’m hoping this year will be the year I can make it happen.
rachel says
you are going to read all those books in a week!? wow!
Crystal says
I’m not sure that I’ll finish all of them, but they are the ones I’m hoping to start and/or finish this week. 🙂 Right now, I’m reading about an average of 3-4 books per week, so I doubt I’ll finish all of them. But hey, you can always aim high. 🙂

I loved the book Sarah’s Key…enjoy!

Crystal,
I just wanted to say my husband and I have loved P90X and had awesome results. We have finished 3 rounds of it. We also did P90X2, but didn’t like it as much as P90X. For Christmas we bought ourselves P90X3 and we will be starting it on January 6th if everything goes like we are planning. Check into signing up with WOWY (SuperGym) every time you workout and you may win money. I workout every morning at 6:00 am CST and always leave a encouraging scripture when I sign in. Hope to see your there. Oh, I sign in as TinMO.
Have a Healthy, Happy New Year!
Theresa

Thanks so much for the tip! And yay for P90X! Can’t wait to hear what you think of P90X3!

Congratulations on accomplishing all your goals from last week! I’m experimenting with posting my goals on Google Plus – quick and simpler than a blog post!
Jenn says
What is P90X? I know it’s an exercise program but nothing past that. Why do you choose it for your exercise? Thanks for your goal posts! They’ve really helped me make some progress with my priorities.
Crystal says
You can read more about it here: https://moneysavingmom.com/2010/07/p90x-on-a-budget-phase-one-downloadable-menu-plan.html

I can’t wait for your Reading List and Favorite Books of 2013 posts! Those are my absolute favorite posts you do. I always love your suggestions.
Crystal says
Thanks for your excitement and encouragement! I’ve had fun working on those posts and both should be up in the next 2-3 days. I’m doing my reading posts a bit different this year, but I think it will work better for me and be more helpful to my readers, too… hopefully!
Amy says
I am excited to read your post about goal setting this year, especially since I know you said that you were making some changes in how you choose what goals to set.
Not to sound hokey, but your writing on this topic has really been life changing for me.
On another note, did you know that Beachbody just released a 25 minute Power 90 program?
Crystal says
Thanks for your kind encouragement! I’m so grateful that my posts have been an inspiration to you!
And I’ve heard about the Power 90 program, but I’ve not looked into it. Has anyone here tried it?
Sunshine M says
Thank you for blogging! I first heard you on FamilyLife Today this summer and your blog posts and resources have been very influential in our conversations and actions the past few months!
Good for you for restarting P90X! If you would like to participate in a private Facebook group for support and encouragement in completing the program, I am a Coach and would love to help you reach your goals. The FB group has particjpants that have completed the program and will share tips and encouragement. I have done some of the Focus T25 workouts and enjoyed them, and P90X3 was just released. (30 minute workouts). Let me know if I can be of assistance to you!
Crystal says
I’d love for you to send me info on the private Facebook group. Thanks so much for the offer!
And thanks for being a reader here!

Hey, good for you relaunching P90X. I’ve only done P90 and I’ve been thinking about doing it again but haven’t decided. But I do need to get cardio into my routine. Sigh. I don’t enjoy cardio.
Wishing you continued success in 2014!
Crystal says
Thanks so much for your kind encouragement! And all the best to you in 2014!

Thank you so much for your pieces on goal making. I read the one you wrote last January and decided to set some goals for myself for the upcoming year. Get organized with my time (I use your day planning sheets for this, thank you), read the Bible at least 5 times a week, set and stick to a budget (use more cash and hold monthly budget mtgs with hubby), learn how to spell nessacary and dissappointed (with out the aid of auto correct) and some others. Thank you so much. For this week, 1 Pick a Bible reading plan 2, hold a budget meeting with hubby and 3 stick to my daily plan for housecleaning and homeschooling. So far so good.
Crystal says
Way to go on your goal-setting!
Christina says
There is something so simple and basic about this that I just love and feel like I can accomplish. I’ve started my own, as of today, and I’m looking forward to doing this in the new year.
Thanks!
Crystal says
Yay! I’m so glad I could be an inspiration to you in this!

I would like to see what you’ve been knitting and embroidering! I’ve crocheted since I was about 9, so for 25 years now. I taught myself from a library book. I just can’t seem to figure out how to knit, but I would love to learn. With my three little kids (ages 7, 3 1/2 and 1), I just can’t find the time when the house is quiet and I have nothing else that needs to be done. I’m lucky to get 5 hours of sleep a night due to kids! Add to that cooking, laundry, errands/appointments, cleaning up messes and kissing boo-boos, and, well, I still don’t know how to knit.
Crystal says
I’m *hoping* to do a better job of sharing my handwork projects and progress in 2014. I’m always inspired by seeing what others are making so I thought it’d be fun to share what I’m making, too. Plus, it would certainly encourage and motivate me to find little snippets of time here and there to work on these projects, too. 🙂
Jessica says
I can’t wait to hear your goals for next year! Although I don’t copy you, you are certainly an inspiration to me as I map out my coming year. I have learned so much about goal setting just from watching you track yours. And one of the most important things I’ve learned? To be content when it doesn’t all get done, because a little bit towards a goal is better than nothing at all. Can’t wait to see what you have to say over the next few days!!

Let us know what you think of Sarah’s Key….I’m curious.
Kim M says
I read Sarah’s Key earlier this year.. lets just say, its one of those books that will forever stand out in my memory.

I love making my own lavender bath salts. One recommendation that I would make is don’t use actual lavender to “pretty it up”. I tried that once and ended up with lavender in all the wrong parts 🙂
Congratulations on your new book. I hope you guys have a fabulous New Year’s.
Crystal says
Thanks so much for that tip!

I made Lavender Bath salts not long ago – my kids LOVED them – and they were so simple. Here was my recipe: http://behealthybehappywellness.com/2013/04/fun-projects-and-gifts-using-lavender-oil/
