I’m over on Life Your Way talking about Why You Should Get It Done Early — a concept that has revolutionized my productivity and helped me to be a lot less stressed about life. Here’s a snippet of the post:
Get it done early. Such a simple concept, but it’s revolutionary if you implement it. I know, because I’ve experienced the fruit in my own life!
You see, for years, I’ve struggled with being on time. I was always waiting until the last minute to do what I needed to do and then I’d breathlessly rush out the door barely making it to my appointment in one piece — and late again, as usual.
It wasn’t just getting places on time that I struggled with. Getting things done on time was also my constant nemesis.
Oh, I always had great intentions. But inevitably, something would come up that seemed to need my attention more. Or I’d get distracted and put things off until the very last minute.
I *loved* Mandi’s post from last year – I even printed it off and saved it in my homemaking binder in the “inspiration” section.
Your post was great, too! I really enjoyed the practical application and suggestions for specific situations.
So funny that I posted about a very similar topic that same day! Giving yourself more time (so you will be early!). http://behealthybehappywellness.com/2012/10/tuesday-tip-give-yourself-extra-time/
It really does make a wealth of difference. The days I am ahead of schedule go better, I feel better, I treat my family better, get more accomplished, etc.
Definitely a goal worth pursuing!
Thank you for this post. Amazing how God knows exactly what you need, when you need it.
Today I needed to be reminded to get things done early!
Great post! I am going to start, NOW!!! I struggle in the same areas you used to and look forward to becoming more efficient! 🙂
I need to start putting out my keys and fully packed purse by the door several hours before I am expected to go out, those two items are always the things that I end up searching for last minute and cause my family to be in a rush .
This is such a simple concept, but so important. I love your suggestions about getting ready for church on Saturday night, right down to putting the diaper bag into the van. Duh! Such a great idea, because more than once we’ve forgotten it in the rush.
Also, I recently started a blog. I love your idea about posting all of next week’s posts this week so I don’t feel rushed and behind. That’s going to be a big help to me! Once again, a perfectly timed post. 🙂
