Was your Medco order canceled??

I posted about some incredible deals on health and beauty products at Medco Health last night. A lot of you were able to get in on this deal before it expired and I had full faith that Medco would ship out the orders — like they had done with their past promotions.

However, sadly, it appears like they are canceling some, if not all, of the orders placed last night. And it seems like they aren’t sending out emails to let you know that your order was canceled, they are just canceling it. 🙁

At any rate, I’d suggest you log into your account and check on the status of your order. And let us know whether yours is canceled or not.

I’m so sorry that it turned out like this. I do my best to vet the deals before I post them and based upon the past track record with Medco, I felt pretty confident they’d honor the deals they posted on their site. But apparently, they didn’t expect the massive stampede of orders they received last night!

    Yes it happened to me….I placed my order at 8:00pm (central time) and it acted like it went through…even got an email confirmation. I got 9 items and my total was $6.11. But when I logged into my Medco account it showed cancelled 🙁 Bummer!!

    It’s not your fault. These kinds of deals sometimes work and come and other times they fall through. Best to try them anyway (if they are items you want) just not spend too much time. Keep them coming 🙂

    I placed an order this morning and it’s still being processed, however i didn’t use all the free coupons. I used the coupons for Axe body spray and dove deodrant. 4 full size dove deodrant ended up being $5.16. I bought 9 things including Watkins Salve (which is 14.99 here and very hard to find) used coupon code DR10 and spent 16.90. So I’m happy. I got everything for what I would have had in the Salve.

    Looks like mine was canceled. I got all the deals, but it looks like I won’t be getting them now.

    I placed a second order for some other things I needed and it was canceled too, which is weird and irritating!

    Not your fault though, thanks for posting all the deals, sometimes they don’t work out and that is just life!

    Too bad! I did a bunch of orders on their last deals and they all came through. By the time I logged in all the toothpaste deals had been pulled, so it wasn’t worth it for just the shaving cream. Bummer. Sometimes these things ARE too good to be true…

    They only canceled the pepsodent toothpaste on mine the rest say shipped my total stayed the same just with less of an amount saved because the tooth paste they canceled was free.

    Wow…mine was cancelled too, except for one thing of shaving cream which shipped out by itself. I paid $1.29 for it, plus the $.99 shipping and got nothing else. Very, very frustrating. =/

    I placed two orders. My first order which included chapstick, shaving cream and KY was canncelled. The total was 4.xx My second order which was just the 4 Aim toothpaste was already shipped. Go figure.

    I didn’t get in on this deal, but I’m sorry to those of you that had orders cancelled. I am a customer of Medco and it really concerns me to be doing business with a company that does not honor their legitimate advertised specials. I dropped their customer service a line to cancel my account.

      I’m shocked by the comments here on the MEDCO deals….. People were posting here that they were ordering 10 and 40 tubes of toothpaste for free? Obvioulsy that was not their intent..and I feel like many of you were taking advantage of a hole you found. Did anyone think to call them and ask MEDCO? I’m sure they would have said..UM no…the intent was never to let people order a 40 tubes of toothpaste for free…thanks for catching the glitch in our system.

      Someone caught the glitch of the high $12 shipping charge and contacted Vision Forum about it? Why didn’t someone think to ask about all the seemingly too good to be true Medco deals people were posting about….?

      Just some of my opinions on “the store deals” gone “bad” lately…. these stores don’t owe you anything…so you should be angry when unvalid orders are cancelled.

      @trixie, Trixie, just wanted to thank you for using your status as a customer to communicate to them that they should honor their advertised deals.

      To avoid abuse they should have a coupon limit of one per household like CVS and other businesses, but to fail to communicate at all to people about cancelled orders makes me know that I won’t be shopping at Medco again. I was planning to switch to them from my normal purchases at drugstore.com, but I won’t be doing that now.

  • From what we’ve heard, if you had an item that was back ordered (the shave gel and some others) or you used more than one coupon per your household (ordered 12 pepsodents and used 3 of the $4 off coupons) your order was cancelled. There was a glitch and it was only supposed to allow 1 coupon per household. We had the shave cream portion cancelled but the rest of our order says shipped. Not sure if this is 100% accurate – just what we’ve experienced so far. Hope this helps.

    I had three small orders, due to my error of leaving things off each time as new stuff was added and ALL orders were cancelled.
    No email–just cancelled 🙁 And very sad to add that this was my first experience with MEDCO–not a good one.

    I just talked to a customer rep at Medco and she said that it was a glitch in the system and that they cancelled everyone’s orders from last night. It really was too good to be true. 🙂

      I am not convinced that the coupons they put on their site were a glitch, but I do believe it was a glitch that people could order more than 4 of each free item and only pay $0.99 shipping!

        For giggles, I put in a number to see how many Aim toothpastes I could get free and shipped for 99 cents…
        44!!
        And the rep i spoke to said MANY people were doing this.

          @Lisa, Guess I should say it was only to see how many I COULD get. I only ordered 4, but alas, my order was cancelled. Talked to a very nice lady, but no credit. Would have liked one! 🙂 I wished her luck with the rest of her night; all the couponers calling!

    Canceled…thanks for all of your other great posts though. I got in on the Medco deal at the beginning of the month:) Tonight I got $60 worth of stuff for $14 between Target and Wags…my small budget thanks you!!!

    Mine was cancelled as well. I still think this is a great company because of the past promotions and the fact that their prices are very good and the shipping of $.99 on anything is spectacular! I would definetly order from them again and hope they still offer promotions but fix any glitches!

    Both the orders I placed (one for me and one for my Mom) were canceled too. I only used one coupon per product and there weren’t any backordered items. I’m only disappointed that we didn’t get an email notification. Thanks anyway for all you do! 🙂

    The medco deal I did back several weeks ago was canceled without notification. I called today to check on the status of my order and they said the order had been canceled due to abuse of the promotional code. The code msh10(i think that was it) was only intended for medco health insurance members.

    i only used 1 of each of the available coupons, and when i logged in i was excited to see that mine was still processing. unfortunately when i refreshed it said cancelled.

    My order was also canceled and I just ordered the coupon amount allowed of each item..4 toothpaste, 5 floss, 4 chap stick and all was canceled and no notice or email

    I placed 2 orders and 90% of it was cancelled. I only have 2 items shipping; 1 item was a non-sale item and 1 item is a higher priced Chapstick that I ordered (but was part of the Chapstick promotion).
    I did not receive notification and I have 3 pending transactions through Medco, I’m not sure if they will all go through.

    I also only used one of each coupon and none of my items showed as backordered at the time the orders were placed. Both of my orders show as canceled, and as a previous person stated, my only frustration is not receiving an email giving me a heads up. Other than that – oh well, it’s not a big deal. 🙂 Thanks for all you do on your blog.

    I got both of my orders with no problem except one of my items was backordered, so they cancelled that particular item, but sent the rest of my 2 orders.

    Mine was cancelled as well. When I called I was told that because the deals were posted on third party web sites there were people abusing it and ordering 100s of the items and depleted the stock so all the orders waiting in quue to be processed were cancelled because they don’t know when they will get more from the manufacturer.

    I can’t really blame a company for canceling orders when people order enough free stuff to stock an entire grocery store.

    Crystal, you keep those deals coming 🙂 I know you are so vigilant about what you post and it is no reflection on you when a company rescinds 🙂 We are so thankful for you!!
    my really great order was cancelled- even with my paying extra shipping – and they made no apologies for it either. The rep said that “rather than go through the hundreds of orders and see which promotions applied properly, the IT and Marketing people decided to cancel all the orders”. I told her they are not going to have happy customers. She said they did know that. They must not have heard about the Omaha Steak fiasco. She also said Medco is just like the grocery store that has a misprint in the flyer and they have the right to refuse. What they need to realize is that people are not going to be so quick to take advantage of their deals in the future. sigh…

    This is what happens when people take advantage of a reputable company offering a good deal. I read one person’s comment that they ordered almost a hundred toothpastes because the webstore had a glitch in that it did not have a limit on the number that could be ordered under the deal. I foresee that Medco will likely never offer a good deal again after the last few disasters. In fact, I think it is going to become harder and harder for smaller (or even moderatly sized) businesses to offer sales and freebies online now that the entire world becomes aware of them and jumps on them within 24 hours. Oh internets, sometimes you are wonderful, and sometimes you make the world just too darn small!

      I have to say I couldnt agree more – nearly every blog or ‘freebie’ site that I visit linked this sale – which, by itself, isnt a big deal – but when I read the comments there were nonstop people saying they ordered huge amounts of the toothpaste (up to 100!!!) and all of the other items that were free just expecting to pay shipping. Its very much apparent that this was a glitch within the system that people took advantage of – to the point that they had to cancel everyones orders because there was so much riff raff mixed in.

      I know that people are upset by the ‘glitch’ in their system that allowed people to order 30-100 tubes of toothpaste and only pay .99 shipping but I can completely understand the reason they cancelled everything – if you got a credit card bill that they had charged you 10 times for your order because of a ‘gitch’ in their system would you pay it without complaint? No, you would demand they fix the glitch.

      Bottom line for me – considering that the week before this happened many many people were able to get basically $10 worth of stuff for free from their site and they didnt cancel any orders then, why cant people give them the benefit of the doubt in this situation?

    First, I would like to say to Crystal that we all love you and appreciate the hard work you put into this site everyday. I have been reading now for several months and I have learned so much from you! You are truly an inspiration and I am starting to turn some of my family onto your site as well…

    After seeing your posts about all the canceled orders, I checked mine and at first it says the order is processing but when clicked on to find the details of the order, it says that the entire order was canceled. I, like others, only ordered the allowed amount of each item and used the coupons the amount of times allowed, but unfortunately mine was canceled, too.

    I will definitely be calling them tomorrow regarding this. While glitches can happen, a simple email from them would have been nice. 🙂

    Like others have said, this is not your fault at all. I appreciate all of your hard work and look forward to seeing all of the great deals you post each day!! 🙂

    On the previous Medco deal ($10/$10), the coupon was honored at checkout. Then the confirmation e-mail showed it not deducted! It was shipped the same day, so I couldn’t even cancel the order. A long series of e-mails to Medco customer service resulted in… nothing. They would not give me credit, said I’d have to pay $4.50 to return it!

    To top it off, they charged me full price when the offer was BOGO 1/2 price. I called customer service, and she said that I should have seen another button on the cart to click so that the BOGO price would show up! What?? I’ve never seen a computerized cart system that couldn’t do discounts/offers automatically. Bad way to treat a first-time customer. I say “never Medco again!”

    And somehow Medco is related to Drugstore.com (did you notice how similar the online cart looked?) – it even says so at bottom of shipping receipt. I’ve never had any trouble with Drugstore, so I hope that they bring up the quality of Medco’s customer service

  • I ordered from the first promotional deal a few weeks ago. One of my orders was cancelled for no reason.

    When I received my packages, the bottle of gummy lil’ critters vitamins I got was damaged. All the vitamins had melted together in a ginormous blob. I took a digital picture and emailed it to their customer service. Their customer service claimed I was emailing from the “wrong address” and did nothing to help me with the issue.

    I finally had to call and talk to someone. Supposedly they are shipping me a new bottle of vitamins at no cost.

    I decided not to try to order again because I wasn’t very happy with their service.

    Canceled here too… but what irks me is no notification of the order being canceled, and my debit charge is still pending. Charging me for something you won’t ship.. not ok.

      Was it a hold on your card for $1 or was it the order amount? Most often its just a hold on the card that shows you have the funds and it drops off within a couple days depending on your bank.

    My medco order is already shipped. I ordered at 6:30 pm on june 23. I only ordered two items, and one was the butterfly bandages that were free. Maybe people were only allowed to to get one free item per household. I don’t think everyone should fault medco if they were trying to take advantage of them.

      My guess is that they need to update their computer system to address loopholes that they don’t want, such as ordering more than one free item. I usually trust a company’s system to let me know if I can’t use more than one code, for example, or order more than one free item.

      That said, I’m not completely upset at Medco at this point. I understand if they were suddenly flooded with orders for free items and couldn’t fulfill them all – perhaps they are now learning the power of coupon bloggers! 🙂 But it would be nice at least to get an email or an explanation.

        @Jenni @ Life from the Roof, Yes, an email with an explanation would be nice from Medco, but it did seem some people tend to go over board and try to get as much as they can when it’s a good deal. Most of us love a bargain, but I think we all need to be careful not to get greedy. It might hurt us in the end, and result in less good deals available.

    I placed my order at 9:14pm PST. Part of my order shipped, and the rest is on back order. Still shows processing. So mine was NOT cancelled.

    Crystal, you’re a doing a terrific job! You’ve helped me get lots of free things. I do not have time to organize all these deals for myself. While I am disappointed in missing out on the good bargains and wasted time spent ordering, etc., I do understand Medco’s problem. I talked with a lady as well because I had ordered two things which weren’t free/discounted (things I normally wouldn’t pay to have shipped here). Since they had already shipped, she said they’d label them as “donated” and waive my fees. I asked her about the cancelled orders. She said they shipped all they had in stock and then cancelled the rest. So yes, there are conflicting rep. stories out there, but all in all, most of us are not out any money, just time. 🙁

    I spent 35 dollars with the deal. Some of the order was cancelled. So, I just cancelled the rest. Regretfully, I will not do business with someone who does that to their customers. I will get my vitamins and Clear Care else where!

    Half my order from 6/23 shipped with a tracking number (K-Y, 1 ChapStick Lip Balm, Peppermint, 5 Butler Dental Floss, 2 Aim Toothpaste, Ultra Mint Gel, 2 Aim Toothpaste, Whitening, 1 ChapStick Lip Moisturizer SPF 15) but what was backordered was canceled without notice (ChapStick Classic Lip Balm, Cherry, 1 ChapStick Lip Balm Strawberry, Gillette Series Shaving Gel, Band-Aid Butterfly Closures). Still a great deal for $3!

    Mine was cancelled too. I am going to receive shaving cream (I paid full price) and .99 shipping to boot! I did call the company to find out what happened. They told me they ran out of stock. O well, $2.31 spent on shaving cream that I didn’t need.

    The portion of my order that dealt with the promotions–the free toothpaste and Gilette shaving cream–was cancelled. They were happy to accept my money for the other items I purchased while I was on the site. I spent a lot of time surfing their site for deals that night–never would have if it weren’t for the lure of their promos. Disappointed in Medco–not you!

      @Kathleen, That is what happened to me too. I’ve been e-mailing back and forth with their customer service basically going around in circles as to why they shipped the items I paid full price for without notifying me that the other items were canceled but I’m not getting anywhere. Glad I got the deals last time but I won’t bother if other Medco deals come up.

    I have to say I will never order from Medco regardless of the deals now. They just really peeved me off. If you are offering something at a discount rate then you should honor the orders that have been placed & paid for. If you have run out of the items DONT ALLOW PEOPLE TO BACK ORDER THEM & CHANGE THE PRICES ONLINE BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ORDER. You do a great job lady keep up the work.

    My order was cancelled as well. I contacted customer service to find out their reason and this is their response:

    “We’re writing to notify you of the cancellation of your recent order that included one of our special offers. This promotion was available “while supplies last,” and due to overwhelming demand the item is now out of stock. Accordingly, we have now terminated the promotion. You will not be charged for the cancelled portion of your order.”

    This should have been emailed to me when they cancelled my order. I should not have had to contact them to find out why.

    Just checked my order–still getting the Carmex and the shaving cream–but the toothpaste and Chapstick were cancelled 🙁 oh well—thank you so much for finding all of these great deals!! No apologies necessary on your part!!

    Leaving aside the issue of a hole, computer glitch, or customer overuse/abuse…

    Canceling orders without notice to the customer is extremely poor business practice. I will not be ordering from Medco in the future, and let them know it and why.

    I did not order because I did not need any of the items. I was able to take advantage of the codes a couple weeks ago. I am a Medco ins. customer. Thank you for letting me know this deal. It saddens me that I may not have deals like this again with my insurance company due to the abuse. Medco should have sent out emails but maybe it is easier to click cancel order than to submit emails to each and everyone??? I dont’ know.
