Why You Should Try Subscriptions For Kids
Monthly subscription boxes are an excellent gift that keeps on giving — great for Christmas, birthdays, Easter baskets, or “just because.”
They provide opportunities for children to learn, create, and grow — not just consume — and the child feels a sense of accomplishment when they can enjoy their finished craft project, toy, recipe, or other creation.
Subscription boxes are also an extremely convenient gift as you can simply order them online and set up the shipping directly to the child’s home — no shopping or debating in stores!
Also… what child doesn’t LOVE getting special mail from a special person every month!?!
FAQs About the Best Subscription Boxes for Kids
The 10 subscription boxes listed above are favorites for our family and for our readers. Choosing the “best” one simply depends on the ages and interests of your children.
KiwiCo is one of the more popular ones as it has many options for various age groups and interests.
Many of the toy subscription boxes contain toys that are worth MORE than the price of the box — so you often get a great deal on the toys. The toys are usually very high quality and often educational in some way. That said, if you’re intentionally trying to limit toys in your home, you may want to consider a different subscription box.
Yes — definitely! These subscription boxes are a great way to promote creativity and learning from home. They are an easy gift idea and so fun for kids to get in the mail each month!

My kids get KiwiCo(preschooler) and CrunchLabs(upper elementary and middle schooler). My middle school girl gets Baktivity. Every month something fun to bake! They provide most ingredients. It is step by step instructions for how to make the baked goods. Many ingredients come in marked and sealed bags. All of my kids enjoy their subscriptions!

Has anyone tried Radish kids?
We have done Raddish Kids for the last 6 mo and Love it! In fact we just signed up for a year since our 6 mo just ran out. Tonight we had the Turkey Noodle Soup with the muffins (Novembers partial box) and it was excellent! My daughter has learned so much about cooking/baking, and I am also throwing in my math 😉 She also gets to learn about different cultures or different cooking terms/ingredients. I get to spend some time in the kitchen with her which is fun as well. She is starting to do more and more on her own though which is fun too! Highly recommend it 🙂 There is a black Friday special right now I believe until the 2nd. otherwise I can give you a code as well 🙂
I hit Little Passports on a sale and my son was hooked. We learned so much about different countries and years later my son still has a lot of the toys and items that came with it. And he retained everything he learned. We used the 50 states in our homeschool as a US History curriculum as well. Now my son is in 7th and when we covered bigger subjects like The Civil War, Ancient Egypt, and Medieval Japan, he still relates back to what he learned. If you sign up for emails, you’ll periodically get coupons too.
What is your opinion of Bitsbox? My 6 and 9 year old boys are enjoying it, so far. It is nice that they are learning how to read and write programming code in Javascript.
I used to advocate for Pley but since they added all the other toys instead of just Lego the customer service and communication have really gone downhill. I was charged for 5 months despite cancelling many times.
Yikes! Thanks so much for letting us know.
