Today’s the big day! My book, The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget, is officially released and is available in stores nationwide!
I made this video to share a bit of my heart behind why I wrote this book and what I hope you gain from reading it.
You’ll have to pardon the odd cut-off. I started to share my gratitude for my husband and you all, and I broke down and couldn’t make it through.
So instead, I’ll just have to write that out, since I’m so emotional today that I don’t think I’ll be able to do a video on it! 🙂
You All Mean the World To Me

I just feel like crying all day today for how blessed I am by you all. You have no idea how much your amazing support of my book means to me. There Would Be No Book Without My Husband
Secondly, and more importantly, I want to thank my husband. Today, I celebrate nine years of being his wife. Next to my salvation, marrying Jesse was the best thing that ever happened to me.
While this book says I’m the author, truthfully, there would be no book without Jesse. From the get-go, he’s believed in this project. He’s shouldered extra burdens to free me up to write. He’s stayed up late with me to go over edits. He’s listened to me when I needed to bounce an idea off of someone. He’s cheered me on when I’ve felt like giving up. He’s prayed with me for wisdom, grace, and strength.

I pre-ordered the book, got home last night and was so excited to read it-only to find that only the cover was showing on my kindle, and there were no table of contents or chapters!! I tried to re-download it again today and still nothing! I am so bummed, but still so excited to eventually read this book!!!

Still having issues. I have returned it, bought it again, returned it again, and bought it again, still having issues. It will download the cover of the book-just nothing else. No table of contents, no thank yous, nothing. I have contacted customer service and they refunded my money again……but advised me to re download the book again 24-48 hours later…..so here I am trying to re-download this book and I am still getting nothing but the cover of the book. 🙁 I am so bummed, I was so looking forward to reading this book!

I’ve been married to my hubby for 8 years this spring, but we don’t have plan to visit my home country for at least next 2 years because of our financial situation. I’m a SAHM mom to 3 kiddos and always feeling lost. It gets alot better since I started using coupons, but still struggling to become debt free. But I decided to quit whining or crying. Woke up early this morning, so I watched your video. What a blessing. Had to go to the book store yesterday ( one place I love to go to) with my older son who loves to read like me just to get your book. They only had one and I was so glad. Would have been willing to drive around town to find it. Stated reading it last night. Liking it. I’m older and my 7 kids are almost all gone but need help to get things right. You are so kind. They ordered 8 copies since it is a network of libraries for the county. However it is just hard to be patient because there are a bunch of people on the waiting list and they still have to process the books before they can be checked out. It just isnt the same though as my own copy that I can highlight and write notes in. I guess though that I am lucky to have a library close!
I have followed your blog for about 4 years now. Today our marriage is much stronger and less stressful due to the lessons you have taught me. We now have 2 kids, and we bought our last vehicle with 100% cash. We did that because you inspired us!

Oh, Crystal! You’re glowing in this video! You brought ters to my eyes! 😀 I got my book hand delivered this afternoon. The other day I had thought about it, and knew it was coming…but, then I was still caught off guard today when the doorbell rang. Anyhow, I sat right down with it, and started reading…I got through chapter 1 and had to pull myself away…I had much more to be doing this afternoon. 🙂 When my husband got home I started reading it to him…and he is all ready into it too…this is a fabulous read..It’s so practical…and real..It’s just SO real. I immediately told him that I know what’s in this book works, because it’s worked for you and your family. We’re in a great place financially right now, ( no debt, et cetera,) but this book is definitely for our future. This is exactly what we need to get us on board for retirement. We’ve recently become very serious about making a budget and sticking to it. This book couldn’t have come at a better time in our lives. You are such a wonderful woman. I love God, and he put you in so many lives with this book.

I have been a reader for several years and have learned so much. I had this blog on my favorites and checked it daily along with a handful of others. Today, of all days, seems like the best time to tell you this:
I found your blog three (nearly four!) years ago as a newly married young woman. My husband and I were taking on consumer debt at an alarming rate. I started couponing and we started curbing our spending. We put off having children because of the money we owe in consumer student loans. In the last year or two, though, we’ve really grown up a great deal and set our budget and tried very hard to stick to it. We have 40+ combined years of watching our parents set very bad examples of spending and we have found ourselves heading backward, but for every step back, we feel like we’ve taken two forward.
However, I wanted you to know that because of this site and what we’ve learned and have been able to put into practice, my husband and I have decided to start the journey of having children. I am thrilled! Thank you for everything, Crystal. You have NO idea what you’ve done for so many of us.

Long time reader, first time post-er…. I got teary eyed telling my husband your story last night. Wondering what God can do through me, also a stay at home mom to 3. You are an inspiration, Crystal. So thankful God has used you in the way he has.
God can do big things you! Stay faithful–even in the little things. And realize that sometimes the seeming “little things” are big things in God’s eyes!

It’s been a long journey–but God has been faithful, even when I’ve faltered and made so many mistakes. I’m rejoicing in how He uses broken vessels for His glory. Without Him, I am nothing.
So glad I have a kindle so I can order your book and start reading it right away all without leaving the house! I wasn’t going to order it but I started reading some of the glowing reviews on amazon and decided since the proceeds were going to such a worthy cause I should order the book and give it a look. Last night, at the dinner table, we were discussing a difficult extended family situation. I searched my mind for something happy to talk about and brought up the release of your book and all the women and children in the DR that will be helped by its proceeds. Back in 2008, you were one of the first frugal blogs I found and I’ve followed you ever since. We’ve gone on our own sold out, debt slaying journey have paid off over $118K and are on course to be debt free {except the mortgage} in 4 months. God has taught us so much AND you’ve had a role in that story. Thanks for inspiring, encouraging and so willingly serving others.
