Love Centered Parenting was one that I reread this year.
Thank you for sharing — and thank you for re-reading LCP. That means so much!
I read several fiction books on your list. I enjoyed If All Else Sails and God of the Woods. The Sanatorium was . . . interesting. Good story, but I found the main character unlikeable and somewhat unbelievable as a detective. She didn’t seem very good at it! 🙂 I started The Retreat and decided to stop shortly in. I’m curious what you thought of that one and if it got better as it went along. I have Theo of Golden on my “To Read” list for 2026.
I liked The Retreat and am currently reading The Wilds. If you don’t like the main character, though, you may not like those!
I am around 170 with the book I’m currently working on.
I have read the Little House series multiple times. The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife is on my TBR list!
Woohoo! That is amazing!
I remember you said you read The God of the Woods also, right? Curious as to your thoughts on that one.
Oh! I totally forgot to include that one since I got it from the library! Thank you for the reminder. I guess it was 43 books!! That one was well written but the ending was a let down!
I just saw the Dinner for Vampires audiobook on my library app and I’m so curious what you thought of it! It sounds so interesting but I’m not familiar with the TV show or actress so I don’t know if I’d get as much from it.
I thought it was very engaging and the audiobook was very well done… but word to the wise: it has a lot of language and deals with a lot of raw (and potentially triggering) topics.
I had the best time reading Lynn Austin books this year! The Waves series and the Refiner’s Fire series were my favorites! I also enjoyed The Let Them Theory. I am currently in the middle of Child Proof: Parenting by Faith not Formula by Julie Lowe
Thank you for sharing!
I am always eager for your book reviews and books you read. I was also on an Alli Worthington streak thanks to you with Fierce Love and Remaining You While Raising Them. I still to this day absolutely love your book Love-Centered Parenting and have recommended it to many. It changed me and how I parent. So thankful for you!
Aw! Thank you so much for your kind encouragement!
I shared my 2025 books as well – http://readersgottaread.com/?p=526. “The Frozen River” was my favorite book of the year.
Thank you for sharing!
Do you have any suggestions of a good book or devotional to read with your teen daughter?
I don’t because I’ve never done a devotional with my girls, though they definitely read devotionals and I read them.
