I’m a little obsessed with eating and drinking from jars right now. I got a few jars from Amazon and one from TJ Maxx and rarely does a day go by that I’m not using them instead of a bowl or cup.
There’s just something fun and unique about using a glass jar instead of a plain bowl or glass. Plus, it makes the colors look beautiful.
I love salads and eat one almost every day (sometimes twice a day!). If you want to eat more salads, but you don’t have time to prepare them during the day or you eat lunch on the run or at work, here’s an idea for you: make your salad in a glass jar with a lid or a plastic cup with a lid.
Not only are the colors gorgeous and make you just look forward to eating the salad, but it will stay fresh and be portable. Just leave off the dressing until right before serving and you have salad on the go!
Today at Tanga, you can purchase a set of 2 Salad on the Go Cups on sale for $6.99. Shipping is just $2.99. As a comparison, Amazon is offering single cups for $8.95.
These cups make eating healthfully a breeze. At night, just layer a colorful salad in the cup, put dressing in the cup, and stick it in the fridge. In the morning, grab the cup out of the fridge on the way to work or school and you’ll have a fresh and healthy salad ready to go for you for lunch.
If you’re weird like me and don’t use dressing, you can use the cup to put some nuts or cheese in to sprinkle on your salad before eating. You could also use the cups for fruit salad and stick some Greek yogurt in the cup to top the fruit with!

I am curious if I’m the only human being who gets terrible reflux from lettuce?? It seems like all women love salads but all of that lettuce makes me absolutely ill. 🙁
Crystal Paine says
Have you tried just doing a salad with cut up veggies and no lettuce? That might be a great option for you?

My husband can’t eat iceberg lettuce. I always buy the field greens, baby kale or spinach for our salads. They don’t bother him like iceberg does.

I LOVE chopped veggies, just not lettuce. lol, so I understand what you’re saying. I still eat a little lettuce, but mainly just a bunch of chopped veggies instead.
I think the lettuce gag, for me, came from when I ate a TON of ceasar salads during my 1st pregnancy, after that I just couldn’t eat lettuce the same. I don’t know why.

Quick question:
Are these cups on Tanga made of plastic? If so, do you know if they are BPA Free?
Thanks!

I make mine for the week for my lunches. I use the wide mouth jars and layer it – dressing, vegs, nuts, and then the greens. That way all the vegs. Can marinate in the jar without making the greens wilt. I make them on Sundays (usually only m-w b/c I want some variety) and they are preserved well.
