If you loved using the Shopkick app, this news is super sad.
For years, Shopkick has been one of our favorite reliable apps our team both used and promoted to get cash back on purchases. But yesterday, Shopkick appears to have shut down entirely and without any warning. Users discovered that both the app and website stopped working at the same time, with no prior announcement or explanation.
Sadly, it appears employees were reportedly just as blindsided and it seems that staff learned about the shutdown at nearly the same time as the public.
The most immediate concern for users is simple: What happens to my unredeemed kicks?
With the platform offline, it seems that any accumulated rewards are gone for good. However, if you already redeemed a gift card and saved the code, it should still work.
This is a good reminder that any cash back app could disappear at any time—and when they do, your points might disappear with them. We suggest to always cash out early and cash out often when using any cash back app.
If you’re using apps like Fetch, Ibotta, or similar platforms, this might be a good moment to log in and hit “redeem.” Unfortunately, even the most familiar apps don’t always give you a heads-up before they disappear.

I had forgotten about it completely until I noticed the icon for it was still St. Patrick’s Day. I can’t be mad, though. I got so much stuff for free over the years.
Thanks for the info! Was wondering what the heck was going on with this app. So glad I regularly redeemed my points over the years. I was close to earning my next gift card though, so still pretty annoyed to find out these points are now lost.

I was a Shopkick app user. I lost $10 worth of points. I deleted the app a couple of minutes ago thinking I would just reload because I haven’t been able to use the app. I did not know that it was gone. Bummer!! That was a fun app to earn a little pocket money.

I think the least they could do is give you what you’re due if they wanna close the app fine they should’ve said something to the people that used it or a regular basis. I had almost $50 in credits money and now it’s gone shame on them.
I was using Shopkick regularly and was close to a $25 reward when it just kept saying “IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE OFF-LINE” Decided to reach out to customer service and now I see that they are gone.
Does anyone know where they operated from? We can maybe file a complaint with the Attorney General’s office.
I had over 200,000 points lost. I have never redeemed them since I joined. I am so pissed.
Very deceptive of a company to shut down with no warning. Have now lost all my points, 40,000.
This was a shock – I had over 36K points saved up and was even thinking of cashing out to a gift card. Boo to the company for not giving people forewarning. It’s like the time I had a gift card to a nearby restaurant only to find it closed before I had an opportunity to use it 🙁
Yes been using for some a few years …. Had saved 187,000 to use for birthdays and presents throughout the year …. Done with apps ! This is not fair with out warning. Put me in the class action lawsuit lost equivalent to over $650

I went to Walmart and opened the app the scan and nothing, figured it was my phone so waited till I got home still nothing. Really sucks cause I had 7,000 points ready to cash it in for a gift card.

I logged on Shopkicks when I went into Walmart and my screen said I was off line. I signed on to the Walmart website and Shopkicks still didn’t work. I decided to reboot my Shopkicks ap so I erased it and was going to reinstall it but there wasn’t an ap to install. That made me really curious and googled Shopkicks and got the bad news. I was sorry I hadn’t taken a picture of my Shopkicks earnings as I had about $25 worth of gift cards–now down the drain! I loved doing Shopkicks. My husband and I did it together and usually used our rewards for Starbucks. Otherwise it was hard to afford Starbucks.

My son and I would look for the products together that would get us points and purchase them when they were affordable. When I went through chemo, making our Sam’s club purchases or Groupon deals as gifts for people through shopkick got us a little closer to a gift card. We were saving to redeem them toward the new cricut maker machine. Now we have 50,208 kicks that we cannot redeem because they shut their site off and won’t allow redemption.
When I think of all the things we bought that I spent a little more just to get the kicks, and now we ended up with nothing it makes me very upset. I will never install or use another app for points or kicks or rewards again. They just aren’t worth it.

I have been a loyal Shopkick user & am very upset my points that I earned are gone. I feel that we should at least be able to redeem them even if we can’t earn them anymore.

My wife and I together lost over 250,000 points. I had wondered if they were having trouble because points were getting harder to get. I guess we should have cashed in for gift cards before this debacle. On the bright side we had redeemed about $1100 worth of points over the years.

I have been a loyal app user since 2014. I lost 3,285 points shy of a few for the next level. I’ve redeemed thousand of points in the pass and this just hurt my feelings without any warnings to just shut down the app.

I lost over 75,000 points! I didn’t know they shut down and deleted the app thinking I would just reinstall it. I was looking in the App Store and was really surprised I couldn’t find it there. Now it makes sense. I really wish I’d have redeemed them instead of holding on.

I had a $100.00 visa gift card that I redeemed points for at the end of February. Never got an email with the information but it was in my app. Now what do I do?
Go into your rewards in the app and screenshot your gift card. Mine was still there.

Yes i lost Alot of Points i clicked to redeem $50 GC and Nothing happened this is just wrong to not let there customers know they were gonna do this… They should have to send GC to those customers that have alot of kicks to at least gc they got b4…. that should be illegal to not give us our gc …. and i am still getting email from them but u can not ck on any of it says forbidden….
I’ve been doing Shopkick for over 10 years, I put a lot of time into this app and also saved my points for gift cards for Christmas . All those points GONE!

I see that when I first open the app. I wonder if they tried something new 12/4 and it didn’t work out. Why launch something new and 4 months later they just shut down with no notice. 13,000 points I was just going to redeem.
I too was saving points, 25,000 sitting out there in the universe now. Would be lovely if we still were able to redeem. As a member from the start I enjoyed the app and used frequently. Such a shame when these things happen. We all lost out on this one.

I lost a lot of points. I was saving for my home repair. I was a big time loyal Shopkick person. I used cards for Lowe’s for my remodeling home expenses. And I had many people join because I was sharing this great experience. Now I am out a lot for Lowe’s and Home Depot that I counted on for these repairs. I am heartbroken

This is ridiculous with theses apps. I have 180,664 points to use and now I’m screwed! Would have been nice if there was some warning about problems on their end after all the months of working to earn them! THey made their money and screwed us!
I have been using shopkicks since 2015..it saved me a bundle especially when the holidays came. And to see how fast they shut it down is really disappointing…I was saving to by new decor for a new home when we got it. And now all that is out ..I had aro7nd $180 worth of kicks and not all was from.scans and walking but also purchases. I have 42,158 unused kicks that I feel they should give me the giftcards I wanted.
This is sad. Luckily I had redeemed points recently and only lost 1085 points. I used this app regularly!
I have been a loyal Shopkick user since 2012 and am deeply disappointed by the sudden shutdown. I lost over 104,000 points that I had been saving toward several gift cards—both for personal use and to donate.
It is very disheartening that Shopkick would close without providing loyal users an opportunity to redeem their points. This reflects poorly on Trax Retail, the company that owns Shopkick.
I sincerely hope they reconsider and provide a way for users to redeem their hard-earned points. Loyal customers deserve better communication—and hopefully, some positive resolution.

I have saved in the shopkick app for months and I want my points redeemed. I would have had around $700 to use for family use.
I had about 17750 kicks, over 50 bucks towards gift cards. This is sad, horrific and disappointing all at the same time. I was trying to save up for a 100-gift card. I feel like the biggest IDIOT for not cashing out sooner.
I feel ya. I lost 135,980 kicks. I was saving for a new apple i-watch for my daughters birthday. Oh well. I have been a member for a very, very, long time. I have enjoyed 5 i-watches throughout my time so I really can’t complain too too much.

We I lost over 8000 points. I told my wife in January that I thought it would be shutting down soon. I move copies of our Walmart gift cards to our personal pc as soon as we get them. I also make copies on an external hard drive. I have been doing this ever since we started doing Shopkick. I just used $300 worth of gift cards and have another $300 safely tucked away in our pc.

I am/ was a member and was 400 kicks away from a $50.00 gift card. That sucks. I thought it was just my app and uninstalled and reinstalled twice but it kept saying trouble with the servers come back later. I emailed them yesterday but have not heard anything from them. I am so disappointed and pissed
I lost over 9,000 points , was tring to get 1,200 pts to redeem another Cinamark movie tickets for $50! I saved the code that I got on 3/17/2026. I hope it works when we go to movies in April!!
I am upset Shopkick isn’t working? I read it is just shutdown now- for good! I have points to redeem as I’m sure I’m not the only one. I think that is not a good way to go out. We should be notified and given a chance to redeem our accumulated points.

Yes, I lost points. It was my favorite app for earning extra money for incidentals and back when I first started using it putting food on my table. It was easy and fun to use. I’m going to miss it
