Lindsey emailed in the following tip:
Did you know that there are many Christian publishers who offer free books to bloggers in exchange for a review on the book? I have personally done this and gotten countless children’s books and DVDs, marriage books, cookbooks, devotions, and Bibles from well-known authors such as Mark Driscoll, Max Lucado, Randy Alcorn, Joshua Harris, and countless others.
The companies that I use are:
I think that last year, we received well over $1,000 worth of books completely free. The companies pay for the shipping to your home and you get to keep the book! Some of them I love and end up keeping, but with most of the books, I end up donating to a church library and passing on a good read to someone else or giving them as a special gift to someone who I know will enjoy them.

I am a new Christian fiction Author can you recommend places and people I can contact for free book reviews?
Thanks

I can tell you that Book Sneeze is great, as well as Blogging for Books (Waterbrook) I highly recommend those two for sure. The titles offered to read and review consistently change and you will always have plenty to read. They also offering ebooks, and there is always a large selection!

Another tip for those who want to avail themselves to thousands upon thousands of free eBooks (mostly classic Public Domain database of eBooks) by going to http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Gutenberg:About
One late night (early morning rather) I found myself wide awake and loading up my iBooks app with free downloadable classics and many out of print books that depict time periods of days gone by. It is well worth your time to check out the site.

I recently started doing this, too! I use http://www.CrossedFocusedMedia.com but I’m definitely going to look into others mentioned here. 🙂
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Good topic Crystal!

Thanks for posting this! I currently review for Cross Focused Media and Destiny Image. But I typically read 4-5 books a month, so I would love to review more for a few different companies. I will definitely check these out now. Thanks again.

I signed up for Bethany House a couple of years ago, as well as Waterbrook. I get dozens of free books every year, truly enjoy the free opportunity to read such new books! I hadn’t heard of Tyndale. Thanks for that information!

Thank you so much! I am so excited to get a chance to get some free books and review them on my blog. Of course, I get a lot of free e-books already from Books Should Be Free.
(http://www.youthfulhomemaker.com/books-should-be-free/) but physical books are great too! 🙂

Thank you so much for the tip! I’ve been looking for them!

You’re welcome! I LOVE reading, but really do’t have a budget for buying new books every week, lol. 😀

We do this also, I haven’t looked into some of the suggestions, but Book Sneeze and Tyndale are very easy to work with. You can get books fairly frequently, but I believe that Book Sneeze is changing over to where you have to review a book every 90 days, so if you only want to do this occasionally it probably won’t work as well.
You can however just contact the publisher/author and request an individual book, I’ve don’t this a few times and usually they are happy to send a copy for review.
Just remember to count the cost of the book into your “income.” I think it goes under gifts (my husband handles all that for me), can anyone with more knowledge fill us in?

Here are a couple more programs for bloggers for Christian books:
First Wild Card Tours: http://firstwildcardtours.blogspot.com/
LitFuse Group: http://litfusegroup.com/join-the-flock

Revell Books is another company that I sometimes work with. Basically, if there’s a book you want to read, all you have to do is send a request to the publisher or author, put the review on your site, and your all set!
I wish I could say I never buy books anymore, but that’s just simply not true. 🙂

Thanks for sharing. Bethany House also does this. I love their books too.

O’Reilly Media does this as well if you’re looking for technical / computer books.
