Kaitlynn asked me to how to spell this a few days ago. And I had to take a picture when she was done.
It makes me smile every time I see it. I love this precious girl beyond words.
Speaking of my children making me smile, earlier today Kathrynne (7) and Kaitlynn (4) were getting dressed. Kathrynne said she was going to wear white socks rather than her brightly colored socks because the white socks make her look more grown up. Kaitlynn looked at her and said, “But Kathrynne, if you wear the colored socks they can remind you of your childhood.”
Cracked me up.
Have your children said or done any cute things recently? I’d love to hear your funny stories!
I am pregnant with my 3rd child and we’re not finding out if it’s a boy or a girl. My 3 year old son always refers to the baby as “she”. I explained in the car one day that we don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl but we’ll be happy with whatever we get. He responds, “Yeah, you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” Apparently they use that phrase a lot at preschool!
One afternoon after my 2 year old daughter woke up from her nap she was rattling the side rail on her toddler bed. I told to her to please stop rattling the side rail and she said, “Throw it away.” I asked her where she would sleep if we threw it away and she matter of factly said, “Sleep in the garbage can.” How logical is that. I couldn’t stop laughing.
My 9 and 7 year old girls were talking about “Justen Beaver” (how they spell/say his name) and I asked them if they even knew who he was. They replied, “Yes! He’s a boy who sings like a girl!”
My four year old cousin confounded her mom yesterday when she kept talking about killing the Easter eggs. Eventually my aunt realized she was talking about dying them!
My husband and my 2 yr old son had a conversation that went like this:
Daddy: You are not having a very good attitude. God wants you to have a good attitude not a bad attitude. You need to decide which one you are going to have.
Son: ok
Daddy: Are you going to have a good attitude or a bad attitude?
Son: I haven’t decided yet!
It was so hard not to laugh. I told my husband “that was funny” his response was “no its not”. I promptly went upstairs and laughed til I hurt.
When my son was about 4 years old he very lovingly told me, “Mommy, when I get big I’m gonna have a mustache just like you” Guess I had let a little too much time go in between waxing. Love that kiddo!
Ohmy!lol
DD, second grade, is doing a report today at school on Laura Ingalls Wilder. No matter how many times we reminded her, she kept pronouncing “Missouri” as “Misery”. Apologies to any Missourians out there but I could not help laughing! I am sure it is not that bad in your state.
Tucking my almost 4 year old into bed the other night he wasnted me to stay in there with him (he loves to snuggle!). He complained that he was all alone in his bed. “no you’re not,” I said. “Jesus is with you.” He started crying hysterically and pouted, “no he is not.” “what do you mean?” I asked him. “of course he is. Jesus is always with you.”
“But my heart is broken and Jesus can’t live there!”
“how did your heart break?”
“When Amber (his 18 month old sister) hit me with the toy it broke my heart and now Jesus can’t live in my heart because it’s broken!”
So we prayed about it and I told him to get some sleep and Jesus would fix his heart while he slept. The next morning he was very excited to learn that Jesus had in fact mended his broken heart.
We don’t have kids yet, but I have worked in a daycare previously and now I teach PS Sunday School with 3-5 year olds. I have heard some good ones!
-At one point, I had a group of 3 year olds convinced that I did indeed have eyes in the back of my head. They really believed me!
-One Sunday, 4 yo Izzy tells me, “Oh Miss Emily…my nose is all stuffy. Mommy bought some lotion and told me to smell it, but I can’t because my nose is broken!”
-Another Sunday, we were drawing a picture of Christmas in Sun. School. A 4 yo girl drew a sheep and a cow…except the cow appeared to be laying on its back in her drawing. I inquired as to what had happened to said cow. She informed me, “Oh, the sheep tipped it over.” Very seriously, too. 🙂 Gives an entirely new meaning to “cow-tipping!”
-And recently, we were talking about what it would be like to see Jesus. A 5 yo boy told us how we could get to Jesus: just get a spaceship and fly through the cloud to heaven!” if only it worked like that, right?! 🙂
My 4-year old likes to save things. She’s the one out of my three that will still have the jelly-bean clutched in her fist an hour after it’s received. I commented one day that she “is a Saver”. My 5 yr old stashed the comment in her memory bank, and later said “My sister’s a Keeper, isn’t she Mommy?”
My five year old was upset upon learning his 7 yr old brother had just won a wrestling award. “That’s uncalled for!” He exclaimed. Apparently he thought he deserved the award. He quickly realized he broke the golden rule of “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” and apologized. I couldn’t get over him using the phrase: “uncalled for” at age 5!
Maybe we NEED a “Like Button” for such wonderful things like these.
Sometimes I like what I see but don’t want to take time to comment.
Love MSM, been with you for about two years, keep up the good work.
Yesterday my 5 year old was hugging my husband before he left for work and she said, “Mmm, you smell good, Daddy. You smell like an omelette. Actually, you smell better than an omelette. You and Mommy always smell so good like omelettes.”
Can I get that in a bottle? Omelette, by Calvin Klein.
Bahaha!
On Sunday my 3-year-old brought me a picture he had drawn – on the front was a flower and on the back he had written my name “M-O-M-E”! He spelled it all by himself and was very proud of himself; not bad for a 3-year-old I’d say 🙂 Nothing better than being a “Mom-e”!
Not a funny kid one, but my husband was grinding his teeth in his sleep last night. I nudged him and told him. After the initial confusion, he said, “I just missed you is all.”
And now I’m wondering…where did I go?
I don’t have kids, but I teach 1st grade. On my Facebook page, I post “1st Grade Quote of the Day” because almost every day the kids do or say something hilarious! Here are two of my favorites:
[We made oobleck during science–equal parts cornstarch and water. It makes a substance that feels like a solid, but acts like a liquid. The kids all wanted to make it at home.]
Me: “I bet most of your moms have cornstarch at home. But if they don’t, it’s really cheap to buy at the store.”
Kid, very excited: “My mom loves cheap stuff!!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[We were discussing how we should be happy with what we have and not be sad about what we don’t have]:
Kid: “Yea, I want a Lamborghini…”
Me: “Me, too, but I’m not going to be sad about not having one.”
Kid: “Yea…but Mr. Phillips could buy one for you, right?”
Me: “Umm, probably not.”
Kid: “Well, you could at least buy a van!”
I had to laugh just yesterday as well! My four-year-old was going around saying, “I can’t wait to be an adult” If she only knew!
Tell that sweet girl Kathrynne I’m 27 and still wear only brightly colored and patterned socks. Even grown ups can have fun in the sock department! 🙂
Although sometimes I think she sounds more grown up than I feel.
My 5-yr-old William says hilarious things all the time, like… “Daddy, is that some kind of beer?” “no, buddy, this is red table wine.” “Oh, do you have to drink it on red tables?”
My 3-yr-old Gabriel is just starting to say funny things. Instead of asking to wear a short sleeved shirt, he says “I just want to wear arms.” Yesterday he cracked me up after a potty accident, trying to tell me he would prefer to go without clothing at all…”I just want to wear a p***s and a bum!”
This morning at breakfast I asked my 2year old son if he slept well. He surprisingly answered that he had not. When I asked him why he went on to explain that Wilbur (his teddy bear) had been up crying in the night and that he had to nurse him and shush him back to sleep. That boy evidently spends a lot of time with his momma and baby sister!
This post made me LOL!!
Oh, that is TOO funny!
Couldn’t sleep. Read the post & comments 🙂 brought tears to my eyes! I cant wait to have little ones someday. Precious are the days as they go by 🙂
*cross, not crass. Guess I should stop relying on autocorrect and actually proofread
My 4 year old is learning about Easter at preschool. Last week they made a crass picture and when she showed me I asked her if she knew what it meant. She said “Jesus died on the cross” so I asked if she knew why. She looked at me like I’d lost my mind and said I her best “duh, mom” tone “because it was Easter!” I love that kid.
Naomi (2.5 years old) has been telling me recently that Daddy looks like Jesus, because he has a beard. 🙂 I love that girl!
Oh my! These comments have me rolling! Children are so precious.
Love Kaitlynn’s heart 🙂
I remember when I was 8 I thought I was basically grown up. I said I was a young lady and my sister (6) was just a girl. 18 year olds were just OLD
Awwwww….precious! 🙂
Crystal – Thanks for this post. 🙂 It made me smile, and so did the comments (some of which made me laugh out loud). 🙂
Yesterday, Kylie, my 6 year old was racing out the door in her superwoman costume, riding her stick horse. I asked her if she was ready for lunch and she said “No mommy I haven’t saved the world yet.” Loved it. To be 6 again and solve the problems of the world in an afternoon. =)
I got out the ironing board and my two year old son asked “what is that?” I told him it is an ironing board to which he replied, “oh can I ride it?” Hahaha Shows how much I iron around our house.
My two kids (1, and 2.5) follow me from room to room, sitting on the couch or bed and staring while I vacuum. It’s great entertainment apparently! Shows how much I vacuum. 🙂
I vacuum at least twice a week, and my kids STILL find it entertaining…. it’s not a reflection on your housekeeping! 🙂
My husband was telling me that one of his friends saw Dick Butkus when he was in Las Vegas that day. Apparently my 4yo was listening because he promptly cried out “Ewwww!”
Gotta read this: http://mylittlebitoflife.com/?p=2836.
She’s great, print that pic & keep it to give you inspiration to keep hanging in there on those super tough days!! 🙂
Now that is FUNNY!! Thanks for sharing!!
I told my 4 yo the other day that if she needed to “tinkle” while she was in the shower she could do it over the drain rather than risking slipping in the bathroom trying to get to the toilet. I said the water would rinse it down.There was a pause and then I heard “mommy, it’s MAGIC!”
Some people I know that live off the grid in Mexico were visiting the States. The three year old was enamored with flushing the toilet. He kept doing it again and again until his sister wisely reprimanded, “Stop it Asa! You are going to wear out the batteries!”
Love this! 🙂
Convo with my 3-year-old:
Me: Jameson- why are you taking your clothes off?
Jameson: Because I need to swim in the pool (aka- his line of pillows in our hallway that he is pretending it is a pool).
Me: You need to keep your clothes on in the pretend pool.
Jameson: But I’ll get all wet! I can’t swim in clothes!
Me: You are just going to have to use your imagination and pretend your clothes are swimming clothes.
Jameson: But I can’t use my imagination!
Apparently Jameson has selective imagination as he is able to pretend that pillows are a pool that he can get wet in, but pretending that his clothes are swimming clothes is a ridiculous thought…
How sweet! This is just one more wonderful thing that you are teaching your children through your words and actions – that family will always come first.
My son says a zillion hilarious things a day (to me anyhow), but this one sticks out from earlier this year (he’s two): While we were looking in the mirror, he said, “My have a two-head! Mommy have a two-head, too!” (Referring to our four/foreheads, of course! lol)
Also, this morning, he randomly informed me, “Mommy, you have a butt.” *sigh*
Haha!
This morning at breakfast, my 4 year old daughter was eating her toast. She had half a slice left on her plate. “Want the last piece of toast, mommy?” she asked as I sat down to feed the baby. “No honey, you go ahead and eat it. I’ll get my breakfast after I’m done feeding brother,” I replied. “Please?” she continued. “It would be my pleasure to share.”
And so share we did.
This brings tears to my eyes. What a precious moment!
Awww!
My husband has taught our kids to say, “Thank you for the yummy food Mommy” at dinner. One time my 3 year old was eating and burped really loud. My husband gave him a look and said, “Luke, what do you say?” His reply, “Thank you for the yummy food!”
One time I asked my kids (3 and 5) to pick up. They were doing a great job, and I guess to make it more fun they started singing, “It’s a hard knock life. for. us.” Yeah, they have a hard knock life…
I try to put their funny things on my blog so I remember.
themarshallfamilyadventures.blogspot.com
Heard on occasion in my house is the phrase from the move the Sandlot “You’re killing me smalls”. Generally when I am frustrated with one of my “small” ones but don’t want to take it out on them. Until the day came when my 3 year old said “You kill my life small”. Now we don’t say that phrase so much.
After doing a couple puzzles with my 4 ye old son, I told him I had to do some chores and that he could keep working on puzzles on his own. He kept begging me to do more puzzles. After those febrile attempts he said, “Mommy, Bible says Be ye kind and you need to be ye kind and help me with my puzzle!”
I had to add one more post. 😉 This does not involve my own children but it *was* funny so I couldn’t resist sharing. I was sitting on a bench at the playground while my children played a few days ago. There was a dad there playing tag with with his two very young sons when we arrived. They looked to be about 4 and 5 years old. As I got settled on the bench, I head the boys giggling hysterically. They were making up websites, saying, “www.Daddy Can’t Run.com. Hahahaha!” Then the other brother would take a turn and say, “www.Daddy Needs to Rest Up.com.” I couldn’t help but giggle inside myself.
One day my 4 year old was being silly and so I asked him “Where did I find you?!”
Without skipping a beat he exclaimed “From God Mommy!”
When I was washing dishes in the kitchen yesterday, my 4 yo daughter all of a sudden told me she wanted to wipe off the kitchen table. As she was doing it with great fervor and enthusiasm, she kept saying over and over “I’m doing this for love and obedience of my parents!” very emphatically. It touched my heart! We have told her things like that occasionally but I’m not sure where she heard it most recently? Maybe her nursery class in church? Either way, I was surprised to hear her say it and also blessed to hear it and encourage her heart!
We asked our 4 year old if she had packed something quiet to do when she went to church with her nana and poppa….
she replied:
“yes mommy, I packed bubbles! They are quiet.”
I laughed for days everytime I got that visual.
While taking my 3 yr old potty the other day, we got in the bathroom and he started to wash his hands. I mentioned maybe he should do that AFTER he went potty, to which he responded “I love you, but I don’t get this!” Made me laugh! 😉
I could tell you sooo many stories about my 10 year old son and our trips to take communion in church. Let’s just say he has caused members of our church family to giggle on more than one occasion (he doesn’t mean to be funny, but he has some mild special needs and thus just doesn’t realize that some of his actions are exactly that.) But it’s not one of the funny moments I want to share. Rather, it’s his very tender heart. He will often look up while the communion line is forming and be so deeply moved by it. “Oh, Mommy, look! So many people have asked Jesus into their hearts.” I thank God every single day that we were given the privilege of adopting this wise and sensative child into our family.
p.s. I don’t mean that his special needs “read” as funny (it sounded that way when I read my post). I only meant that he truly is a funny boy but doesn’t always “get” that.
My 3 year old son loves puzzles. One day he was looking at a piece of paper and acted like he was reading it. He said “Mommy, this says we need to go to the store and buy more puzzles!”
My 3 year old grabbed a piece of paper the other day and said “I’m going to make Meemaw and email.”
My 8 year old daughter got a children’s bible from our church a few weeks back. She asked if she could take it to school the next day to read during her free reading time. I said sure and she said ” I want everyone to know that I am a Christian”. Made me smile!
Your children are absolutely precious! Beautiful family!
My just turned three year old has been really into the Disney movie Lemonade Mouth. It’s about a group of kids who come together and form a band and inevitably become big stars. It is a great movie with great music through the whole thing, and my three year old little boy always asks to watch “made mouth” lol..anyway, in the beginning the rebel girl of the group is having dinner with her “perfect” family (mom inventing biodegradable plastics, dad researching cures for cancer, twin brother geniuses) and she is kinda the outcast of the family…and she says in the middle of dinner one night very passionately, “I could start a revolution!” The other day while sitting at the table eating lunch with my son he says it out of the blue just as passionately as she did in the movie…it was the cutest thing EVER!
The other day I opened the door to a salesman and my dog started going crazy so I went and put her in the backyard. Then I hear my 4 year old son yell don’t worry mom I got him!! I turn around to see him wearing a police badge and pointing a toy gun at the salesman! 🙂
That is hilarious – He’ll make a good protector someday. 🙂
MY 14 month old looked at his 11 day old brother this morning and said “mama bubba bye bye” and started waving. Think he is feeling left out? lol
MY 3 year old was at the lake with his papawl and had to go to the bath room. Dad told him just to potty off the side of the boat. So he did… then he got very concerned. With the most serious look on his face he said “Papawl, how do I flush?” LOL I guess my nagging about flushing after you pee finally kicked in!
🙂
The other day I was doing something and my 4 yr old was trying to tell me something important to him and he could tell I was not really listening. He came over and put his hand on my leg and said ” Mom, it’s me, Dominick. I have something to say.” Needless to say I spent the next hour having a great talk with my boy. Funny how it takes a 4 yr old to remind you to listen when life gets in the way.
While helping me plan the menu for Easter Sunday, my 6yr old daughter said “I don’t want to have those deviled eggs.” I asked her why not and she said “cause the devil is the bad one that made everything bad in that pretty garden God made.” She waited a minute then said “Can we call ’em angel eggs?” 😉
We have been studying the book of Jonah during our family devotions. We were watching a basketball game on TV the other day. My 5 year old asked her Daddy who he was rooting for. He told her the name of the team. She asks, “Who are they playing, the Ninevites?”
My grandson (4 years old) gets so excited when grandpa comes home. He calls the time he spends with him “guy time”. He will stand at the top of the steps and call down ” are you ready for our guy time”. Guy time is a secret snack and grandson on the iPad and grandpa working on his work computer or the two of them snuggling in the chair watching a fire on a cold winter night.
My four year old, E, keeps us laughing, but this is one of my favorites:
E: Mom, lions are carnivores.
Me: Yeah! They are! (shocked she knows what carnivores are) What are cows?
E: Meat.
I couldn’t stop laughing 🙂
ha! that’s amazing. 🙂
First words of my first (boy): “I luv you” “truck” “shoes” & the usual mama – dada words 🙂
First words of my second (girl): “No, bubba!” “ouch” “yes mam” “amen” “bite” (not food related, Yikes!) & “ewww”
It’s so funny the differences between them & what they pick up on!!!
How very, very precious! Our almost 3 yr old keeps us in stitches most of the time. She’s trying to make sense of the fact that everyone is allowed to touch the tv, dvd, computer, etc. except her (my next oldest is 10). So she has started saying things like, “When I was a big boy like Benjamin I could open the dvd.” “When Christian was a little girl like me he couldn’t touch the computer” and on and on.
One of my favorites is when my daughter told someone that her daddy had pickle colored skin. I asked what??? Do you mean olive colored skin? She says,..oh yah olive colored skin. We have a transracial family, 1 peach colored momma, 1 olive colored dadda, 2 chocolated colored siblings and 1 peach colored sibling.
My oldest who is 30 now but when she was 2 I told her Mommy had eyes in the back of her head. I was sitting on the couch later that day and my daughter walked behind me and was playing with my hair. I asked what she was doing and she stated that she was looking for mommys eyes in the back of my head. With a very serious face she asked what color they were. All I could do was laugh.
What a wonderful picture. Because she was diligent to spell it and write it out you know how much she means it!
Our 4 yr old Turkey is full of hilarious stuff. The funniest ever was when his Nana came to visit when he was 3:
Turkey “Mercury, Venus,…..”
Nana “What planet do you live on?”
Turkey “Earth! What planet do you live on, Nana?”
This one was pretty good too : As his Daddy weeded the flower bed: “The plants don’t appreciate that Daddy!”
I used to be good about putting them into a blog post to publish when I got a half dozen or so, but it’s been quite some time-I think I’d better be more diligent to write down those sweet memories!
“Earth! What planet do you live on, Nana?”
Ok, that is classic. How did she respond?!? 🙂
I’m almost 34, my son is almost 5. I’m finishing up my Ph.D. so I’ve been working extra hours (in addition to my full time job) to prepare for my defense next week. I have tried to explain to the kids that I’m not around as much because I have school but I will be done in a few weeks and things will be back to normal. My son said to me this morning “Mommy you must be very young. Not like Daddy, he is very old. You are young because you still go to school like us!” Haha. I wish!
all the best on the defense
My son, 5 months old, has to have his pacifier to fall asleep. A couple of nights ago, I put him in the crib while he was partially awake. He lied there for a minute then pulled the pacifier out of his mouth, stared at it and handed it to me. A few seconds later, he was screaming. Apparently, he was not ready to sleep.
Last summer I was teaching the preschool VBS class at our church (where my hubby is pastor). After discovering that my son was the “Pastor’s Son”, one of the little preschoolers told his big brother, “Did you know Danny’s dad is the LORD?” 😀 I wondered what my mother-in-law would think of that one! Ha!
LOL!
My just turned 4 year old sometimes confuses definitions of words. Today he confused “spin” and “change.”
We were at a store and he found a globe. He started spinning it and then said, “Look Mommy! I’m changing the world for God. God wants us to change the world!”
My heart…melted.
Awww…that is so sweet…maybe he really wasn’t mixing them up at all 🙂
Last Sunday, my 7 yo son ended up being the only boy among several girls. I overheard them playing and then heard him say “I can play! Because I’m a tomgirl today!” 🙂 Made me laugh 🙂
Your kids are so cute! You have a beautiful family inside and out! Kaitlynn does a great job writing. My four year old is still working on her spacing between words. I was telling our friends the other day that our two year old is a homebody and my four year old was anxious to jump in to tell our friends that she herself is an “everywhere body!”
My 4 year old and I watch The Biggest Loser together and the other week they were surfing. She turns to me and says “I can surf.” so I asked her how she knows to surf because she has never surfed. Her response “I believe I can, so I can. As long as I believe in my heart, I can do anything.” she made me so proud that she has learned that she can do anything she wants as long as she believes!
My 7 year old was hot one night and asked for the fan to be turned on in his room. But, when I came in the room in the morning, I saw that the fan was pointed directly at his 2 year old brother who was huddled under the blankets. I shut off the fan and asked him if he was very cold last night. He replied, “Yah, and my ears where coughing.”
My three year old was playing musical instruments with his sister (21 mos.) and he wanted me to go sit on the step of our sunken living room so I could listen to the “concert”. Then he said, “I know, let’s pretend we’re in church! We can play loud, though, because God says it’s OK.” (We usually have a small group of musicians to accompany our pianist at church.) I later realized that he must have said this because I am always saying things to him like, “God wants us to be quiet in church.” 🙂
When my son was in kindergarten, his teacher called on evening to tell us that she was asking the children in the class what they wanted to be when they grew up. One-by-one they said basketball player, fireman, truck driver…….ours said he wanted to be a herpetologist. She was calling to ask us what a herpetologist was.
My four year old son asked out of the blue — ‘hey, when is the Easter Bunny’s birthday?’
And the other day he was cranky because the drawstring on his shorts was “tied apart” (he meant ‘untied.’)
I have been teaching my 27 month old son to sing various songs. His favorite is “Jesus Loves Me”, and often starts singing his version to anyone and everyone he sees “Jesus love you, Bible love you!!!”
It makes me melt, he is so sweet!!
My 24 month old had been looking forward to a visit from our neighbor for days. He was practically popping from excitement when she walked through the door.
Half way through our visit, he asked to watch Curious George (it keeps him occupied while I feed the baby.) I told him he could watch George after our guest left. He looked my friend straight in the eye and said: “Buh-bye!”
Bah!:)
Earlier I was watering my veggies my 2 year old and I planted. When I looked into the lettuce container, there was something growing in there that wasn’t lettuce. I asked her what it was and she said “Corn”. So after checking and making sure it was corn I asked her why she planted corn with the lettuce. She said ” The lettuce lonely, it needed friend.” Really?? My 2 year old??? Good grief!!
Oh that’s so funny that you bring this up today because I just posted on my facebook wall something my daughter said that I thought was hillarious!
I asked her to fix her bed this morning and her response was, “I’m on it mommy!”
My son who just turned two, brought a cup of milk into the living room last night. He set it down on the end table and then got a coaster to put under it. It made me smile 🙂 He’s such a little man.
We don’t have children, but I baby sat for some friends last weekend and we had some really heart warming moments. My husband is a police officer and they had never seen him in uniform, so we visited him at work and they asked a million questions, got to see the car, ect. It was very heart warming because children are often scared of my husband in uniform (either mommy’s been picked up by the police before or parents use them as a scapegoat to decent parenting, i.e. “Be good or he’s going to take you to jail!”) and they were excited to see him at work.
Also, there was this exchange:
Boy1: Do you believe in Santa.
Me: I don’t.
Boy1: But you believe in Jesus, so why not Santa?
Me: Jesus is different, He is real and very much alive.
Boy1: Jesus isn’t alive, He died on the cross!
Boy2: DON’T YOU REMEMBER EASTER?!?!?!?!?!?!?! HE CAME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your daughter’s handwriting is beautiful for a 4 year old. I’m impressed! What a sweet thing for her to write…wise beyond her years!
My 3 year old keeps me on my toes every single day. Recently, when opening the fridge she exclaimed: “Ewwww, what’s in here? It smells like BOY!!!!”
And her most recent made-up joke:
“What did the chicken say to the road because he didn’t want to cross it?”
“I’m too chicken!”
Kids are so much fun. Thanks for sharing and allowing us moms to share too 😉
oops…here’s the link http://a-heart4home.blogspot.com/2012/03/free-kids-quotes-printable-come-link-up.html
This is awesome, thank you! I’m so bad about writing things down, but I need to!
On the way home from eating out last night our four year old said she wished we would have gotten more ice cream. We reminded her to be thankful for what she did have. Then she said, “I’m thankful…but my belly isn’t.”
We also offer a free Kids’ Quotes printable through our blog to make it easy to record the funny things your child says.
The printables are great! I was changing my little boy’s diaper (he was 2 yr. at the time) and found his little bottom was quite red. “Oh,” I said, “we need to put some cream on your bottom. It’s in bad shape.” He leaned up to look at me and replied, “Is it a triangle?”
LOL!
LIKE!
the sock conversation is priceless!!
My 2.5 year old son has the cutest request…and how can I resist when he says “Mommy, may I hold you please?”
Oh my little girls used to look up at me and say, “I wanna hold you Mommy”. Oh how I miss that…
My 3-year old son recently asked me how to spell sleeping.
I said, “S…”
He said, “No, mom, it’s ZZZ.”
😀
My sons and I were talking about what a great cook my mom was, she passed away almost 2 years ago. My 5 year old said that all of her food came with good sauce on it. My 11 year old said, “Yes it did. I was love.” It made me so happy they remember her so well and still love her so much.
I was just thinking earlier that I was content in the childless phase of life that God has me in but after reading this I am compelled to fill my whole house with kiddos!
That photo is priceless. Maybe in a year or so the photo will serve as a reminder of the “good old days”. LOL
I needed this chuckle! Your children are precious.
My daughter is almost 2.5 and she is beginning to say small sentences.
one day she dropped crayons on the floor and said “oh air is it?” picks one up and says (with a big smile) “oh ea it is!”
and just today she pointed to my foot and said “uh oh” (there is nothing wrong with my foot) put her hands together mumbled and said “maymen” = amen..it was too cute!
My son is severely speech delayed due to his Autism, but the other day I told him he was a cheese. He looked at me like I had lost my mind and matter-of-factly replied, “I’m a boy.”
Love it!
Too many to remember or to record! (One good reason why I should blog!) My two oldest boys (7, 5) were talking in their room and I overheard their conversation while I was in the next room putting away laundry. Conversation went like this: Oldest: Did you know your body has muscles and bones and tissues? Younger: Tissues?! Oldest: Yes, tissues. Younger: What in the world? Did you blow your nose the wrong way or something?
Cracked me up!
THAT is HYSTERICAL! 🙂
Oh this made me laugh out loud!!!
We took our sick kitty cat to the vet the other day as a family. When the vet was ready to examine him, she said “I think your mommy will need to hold you while I listen.” My 6-yr-old daughter jumped up immediately to help! She thinks she’s our cat’s “mother.” Adorable.
Awww~
Mine cracks me up all the time;). He likes to talk about when he was a kid–he’s 11;)
