Also what ablout leaving the Zuccini out? I am not sure the fam will like that. And do you cook these frozen or defrosted?
Can you sub the cocunut milk in these? My husband hates coconut!
Thanks all- such a timesaver.
Also, Debbie and Alyssa (and Melissa), I am slowly making my way through the recipes. I can say with certainty that the coconut curry chicken and the honey rosemary chicken (posted in today’s round 2 post) are fabulous! Before we lose our garden (and our rosemary), I might do a whole batch of JUST honey rosemary chicken- I think my family would eat that one once every couple weeks. 🙂
I agree with Melissa about the BBQ chicken- I love it that there are tons of veggies, but my family was just so-so on the taste. Maybe I added to many carrots…
Anyhow, if you just want to try one or two, start with the curry and the honey-rosemary chicken. Hope that helps! 🙂
Awesome – I will try those two for sure! Thanks for your input.
Thanks, that does help!
I agree with Debbie…I LOVE the idea of doing this, but only if I know it’s going to turn out good! I’ve spent forever online research freezer crockpot meals, but can’t seem to find any reviews about how they turn out. And the few reviews I’ve read haven’t been very good. 🙁 I’d love it if people could post their favorite freezer/crockpot recipes, which they’ve actually tested out themselves.
I tried Mama baby love’s original freezer to crockpot meals, and it was a time saver for sure, and they contained lots of veggies. As far as taste goes, I thought they were fine and my family really didn’t complain about them, but they weren’t favorites. I had a couple family members asking how many there were left in the freezer still. They were ready to be done with them. Also one bag was only enough for my family of six because they weren’t favorites.
I love the concept and think it has potential, and so I am going to give it another go with some other recipes. I wouldn’t want to eat crockpot meat and veggies on rice every night though.
Your post inspired me to make Playgroup Granola Bars from scratch found on allrecipes.com and also clarified butter (also known as ghee). Thanx.
There are so many of these on Pinterest but I have yet to see someone’s cooked meal and a review of how they actually tasted. I just wonder if all the vegetables end up tasting the same. Anyone out there try these yet??
Oops that wasn’t supposed to be a reply to Fay just a comment/question about the freezer meals!! Sorry.
I’m an Independent Consultant for Tastefully Simple. We have recipes for Freezer meals and I can’t even tell you what a big hit these have been.
I’ve seen people take them to people who are sick, just had a baby or even when someone has passed and they want to give food but know it can’t all be eaten immediately!
Freezer Meals are AWESOME!
I’m going to try the Man-Pleasing Chicken. 🙂
