Do you know if the Ritz coupon is still available? What zip did you use? I don’t see it.
Thanks

Someone gave me some deer meat a couple of days ago. 🙂 Do you have any suggestions on how to season it? I didn’t care for it as traditional roast, potatoes, & carrots before when I had some. I probably just didn’t know how to season it. I know I’ve liked it shredded in enchiladas.
Erin says
I don’t care for it in the “traditional” ways, either. Try jerky. Or really in any kind of sauce that will disguise the flavor.

It’s also great in a slow cooker with speghetti sauce. I’ve used it with Chili, a green pepper/rice recipe, and in Crystal’s twice baked taco potato recipe.
The best advice I can give you is to have it grounded into hamburger like meat and cook it in a dish with a sauce. I love it!

We eat a lot of venison and are accustomed to the flavor now. I’d suggest covering the top of roasts with bacon if you decide to make a roast again. Otherwise, grinding it up and using in place of ground beef in tacos, spaghetti, etc. (dishes with additional seasonings) will work great. I also add a little sausage/bacon grease to the pan when using the steaks in stir-fry.

I agree with the taco suggestion. That one worked well for us.

Thank you so much for sharing the reasonable and moderately priced shopping trips…other websites post “all for $4.31” and have a ton of things, and there’s no way I would ever have that kind of luck….but $40.75, that’s way more reasonable. 🙂
Luba says
Agreed! It’s more reasonable, and there is actual food pictured. 🙂

how can I submit a good shopping trip picture I had yesterday?
Crystal says
You can submit shopping trip pictures/posts here: https://moneysavingmom.com/guest-post-submission-form

I noticed that you used a coupon for the Rice Thins from a mailer. Is this a Nabisco brand mailer that one can sign up for? (My husband has just been put on a gluten free diet, so I am learning the ropes where that is concerned.)
asmith says
I think it was a Walmart sample that is no longer available.
We like the Ronzoni gluten free pasta (coupon on their website) and King Arthur’s multipurpose flour. I hope all goes well with your husband going gluten free. My daughter has been eating gluten free and it has cleared up some issues that the doctors could not diagnosis.

Have you noticed the price of potatoes this fall? They are higher than last year.
Brandy @ The Prudent Homemaker says
MUCH higher! Normally I pay .10 to .20 a pound on sale. We eat 1300-1400 pounds a year. I found a place that had them for .10 a pound, limit 1 10-pound bag. They let us do multiple transactions and we bought 160 pounds. Plus I bought 48 pounds at another store for .12 a pound (both bought last month). It’s a far cry from the 300-500 I normally buy in November when they go on sale.
