I actually use them the same as normal pads during that time of the month – especially the liners, which as far as I can tell work exactly the same.
Is there a place to donate things like Tena pads? They’re often on great sales. I don’t need them, but I know many people who do are on fixed incomes and could use them. I don’t want to embarrass folks by running around asking them!
Elizabeth, I usually donate personal hygiene products to our church’s food pantry (or you could do another food pantry in your area). They are very appreciative as if one doesn’t have enough money for food, many times they don’t have money for personal hygiene items as well.
You may wish to call before you drop off, though. I assume this might vary by food pantry.
Maybe like a women’s shelter or a nursing home?
I dropped off some donations at a local women’s shelter, and she told me that pads and tampons were their biggest need. Everyone needs them, and they fly through them with a house full of women! I always try to get extras to donate when I can.
