I read somewhere (maybe here) of people doing this so last week I just bunched up one and tied together with a rubber band!

I love this idea! I don’t buy onions often, but I do buy 2 bags of oranges a week and I am thinking it would work with those as well. I am going to have to try it out next week.

I LOVE these! What a simple and creative way to re-purpose an item that is so often thrown away. Can’t wait to use up our current onions so I can try it. The only other thing I’ve used onion bags for is to hold bar soap slivers to make a soap-on-rope. Thank you for the great idea and step-by-step pictures.

I have used the onion bag for a scrubbie for years. I don’t even bother doing anything except folding it into thirds. I love that they don’t harbor germs like a sponge, and they are so inexpensive that if they get really gross you can just throw it away.

When we lived over seas, the ladies would make luffa’s out of them for bath time. So smart!
