I make homemade English muffins in double batches and freeze them for quick breakfasts. They taste almost as good from the freezer as they do when they’re fresh. Here’s my recipe: http://kansaslife.wordpress.com/2013/01/27/homemade-english-muffins/

I want to try these!! Do you think regular milk could be used instead of the powdered milk? I know the powdered milk to water ratio is 1/3 more concentrated than liquid milk. Maybe I could try 1/2 a recipe.

In the ones I make, the powdered milk really makes a difference because it’s so much more milk than the liquid.

Homemade English muffins was already on my list of projects to try this week! I’ll have to compare these recipes to what I have already.
On another note, I tried the Whole Wheat Muffins yesterday and love them. Can’t beat how simple and easy they are to make either! -
Very excited to try these!

These look wonderful! I have made bagels from scratch before, but never english muffins. where do you buy powdered milk?

You can buy it in almost any grocery store. Usually, I see it in the baking aisles by the evaporated milk.

Here is a recipe that I made last week that uses regular milk. They were very good but a little sticky to work with during the shaping process. Cooking them on the electric griddle made the job so much easier than cooking them in a skillet on the stove. Make sure to give them a nice long rise after shaping to get those nice nooks ‘n crannies.
