Jenae from I Can Teach My Child shows you how to make edible playdough. This stuff looks fun and addictive! I’m excited to try it with my children!
Do you have a fun and frugal DIY idea to share? I’d love to hear about it! Read the submission guidelines and submit it here.
We used to have this at Sunday School when I was a kid. It DOES taste REALLY good, but am I the only one that gets skeeved out by the idea of my kids eating something they’ve rolled on their hands, table, etc? Ick! No surface is clean enough for that venture, if you ask me!
HELP! Would love to make a homemade playdoh…but, one of my kids has a severe peanut allergy. So, does anyone have a recipe that is “nut” free??
thx
You could try SunButter. I don’t know if the consistency would be the same, but it would certainly be worth a try!
What is SunButter? Where would I get that/
thx for responding!!
Amazon has it. Just search “SunButter”. 🙂
My mom used to make this for us when we were little. I remember it to this day. I love, love, loved it! We all did. She babysat 14 kids and needed all the activities she could find. I can’t wait to make it for my kids.
Love this idea! My daughter has been studying butterflies in her kinder class. She was so excited when she saw the picture. We’re putting this on our summer “to-do” list 🙂
It tastes DELICIOUS!
I actually ate almost a whole batch worth for my dinner last Wednesday night after VBS. My husband was out of town, the kids had already been fed, and I was left perusing the refrigerator to find something to eat. I ended up scarfing the rest of the boy’s playdough…lots of good protein, right? 😉
Is there a way to make a dairy-free version? My son is allergic to Casein…
Hollaina,
Maybe a soy milk powder?
No playdough of any variety in this house! I may be crazy, but not so far gone that I don’t know better than to drive myself further into insanity with goo in the carpet!!! We’ll just stick with rolled cookies once in a while…
Does anybody know whether or not it tastes good?
Think I will try this one. I used to make homemade play dough for my kids but the recipe (which I have since lost) was mainly salt.
That is so clever! I never even thought to do something like that. Pretty sure if I made that my kids would eat it before they had a chance to play with it. I bet it smells like peanut butter cookies…yum!
Yeah, but I’m trying to get my kid NOT to eat his playdough! 😀 It does look fun, though. I’d probably be sneaking spoonfuls at night.
Thanks for a great blog!
We made this during a day camp I worked at–so much fun! My mom also made this (or something like it) when I was a kid and my brother threw up from eating too much, so watch that your kids don’t consume it all too quickly. 🙂 Can’t wait to make it for my little guy when he’s bigger!
My mother used to make this for us when we were kids. She called it peanut butter candy. It was one of my brother’s favorites. Brings back memories over 40 years ago!
