This IS adorable and certainly cheaper than an expensive gift shop find, but am I the only one who thinks using more than one or two cupcake liners for a craft is a waste? Where I live, they are not cheap (I find myself cringing when I have to add their price into the cost of baking and see how few there are in a package — and they are plain) and crafting/cake supply stores are quite a distance away to be able to buy in bulk. I do buy paint and good art supplies online, but for some reason this strikes me as odd. As if someone were asking me to using my baking parchment ($4 a roll regular price roughly) to something.
The inspiration is interesting though. I am wondering if the same idea could be applied to fabric or paper scraps? Or dollar store paper doilies? Or can readers let me know how they save on cupcake liners other than buying them out of season. I used “back to school” liners for muffins a whole year when I bought them on clearance. They were the ugly, black background things, but they worked.
Cute!!!
