We’re working with Silas on learning to recognize his numbers right now. So this Clothespin Number Match-up Busy Bag from Confessions of a Homeschooler has been perfect for practicing!
All it requires is a pack of clothespins (check the dollar store for these), this printable, and a plastic bag.
Laminate or print the Clothes Pin Number Match-up on thick cardstock, write the numbers on clothespins, and stick it all in a plastic bag to have handy for when you want to keep your youngster busy while you’re working on something else.

Could you print the wheels on the front and back of a single page of paper so the wheel is double sided? I’m part of a busy bag exchange and looking for ways to make it as efficient as possible. 🙂
Thanks!

Yes, that’s what we’ve done with all of ours.

I made one of these for my son last year. He still uses it occasionally now. I added colors to the back side of the disk and made sure to add the color name to the clothes pin so he can learn his color names too.

This looks fun. I don’t have a color printer, so I used a dinner plate for a template, and made my own. I altered it slightly, using different shapes for each number, and used colors that correspond to Cuisenaire rods. 🙂 My kids are chomping at the bit to “play the game” and asking all kinds of questions: I told them to clean their room and we’ll “play” it. 😉

Drawing the dots on the clothespin (1 dot on clothespin 1, 2 dots on clothespin 2, etc) would give the child instant feedback about whether he got the answer “right” and may be a nice addition so he could work more independently.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was looking for things to help reinforce what my son, Holden, was learning in his K homeschool lessons. We love extra ideas to make learning fun and this fits the bill perfectly!
