Oh, I love this! Jenae from I Can Teach My Child has a Build-Your-Own Snowman Kit complete with a downloadable template and printable tags.
These would make fantastic gifts to give to young children. Or, you could print them to use for a fun project in December.
And don’t forget about the printable Felt Snowflake Busy Bag.

I know what I’m doing tonight! I made the snowflakes a few days ago, and they are a hit. I also saw an idea online for a giant felt tree. I got a yard of green felt at the store (with a coupon, of course) and cut out two large trees. I hung those on the wall, and I am still in the process of making simple felt ornaments so my girls can decorate their very own trees. It is a wonderfully simple project–since felt sticks to felt, here is no need to attach Velcro or anything to the pieces. Tonight, my four-year-old went through my felt scrap stash and made an abstract elephant on her tree. She is my little creative crafter in the making!

I really love this idea! I made my kiddos a pumpkin face similar to this a few years ago and they love playing with it every fall. I had been thinking of doing one but just envisioned a snowman face. I’m glad I saw this-now I’ll be making the whole body-way more fun! Thanks for the great idea! 🙂

Very cute, especially for those of us who don’t get snow and have children asking to build snowmen!

Okay, some people might not like this comment, but here I go…
if you make this, please skip the pipe. I know it’s in the Frosty story… but it’s not a good example for your little ones.
I have a Master of Public Health degree and 8 years of experience as an epidemiologist and now am a SAHM. I wouldn’t provide a toy to my child that contained any representation of a pipe or another smoking device. I do regularly discuss with my 5yo why smoking is bad for the body, the spirit and the wallet.
(stepping off soap box)
Otherwise I think this is awesome and I just might make some with the boatload of felt I got at Joann’s on Black Friday 🙂

Jessica, thanks for sharing your thoughts. The pipe isn’t include in the template…it was kind of a spontaneous decision as I was cutting out the felt. I can totally see why you (and everyone else) would want to skip this step! I’m certainly do not condone smoking!
I guess I just got a little too carried away thinking of Frosty and his corn-cob pipe. 🙂

Oops…that was supposed to say “I certainly do not condone smoking” instead of ‘I’m’. 🙂
