Organic ketchup for under $2!? You’re living the dream! I can’t seem to find it for less than $5 which seems outrageous to me considering the bottles are always smaller.
$5 sounds ridiculous!! I’m assuming you don’t live near an Aldi. 🙁
I love your Valentine’s Day menu. It sounds really fun. I’m curious… how do you make your chicken gravy over rice?
I melt some butter in a saucepan (saute in some chopped onion and fresh garlic if you like them) and then stir in some flour and cook/stir until starting to brown. Gradually whisk in a combination of milk and water/broth and continue to cook until desired thickness. Throw in some cubed, cooked chicken and season to taste (salt, lots of fresh pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and basil). Serve over rice.
That sounds delicious. I will be making this soon. My family loves so many of the recipes we have found on MSM. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
I got tired just reading your lists, im terrible at making them.
Ha! Well, I am NOT an organized person by nature, so I’m in huge trouble if I don’t make lists. 😉
Can I ask how you prepare your venison roast? Do you have marinades or sauces or special seasoning?
I don’t use any special marinades or seasonings. I just add some sort of fat (butter or olive oil), some sort of liquid (broth or a mixture of soy sauce/water) and generous amounts of garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and whatever other seasonings I feel inspired to add. 🙂 I cook it on low for 8-10 hours. Hope that helps!
Awesome prices at both stores! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I agree on the prices. My Aldi’s prices are definitely higher than this and seem to be creeping even higher. Ugh. Great job Brigette! I love reading these every week!
Oh, that’s too bad about your Aldi prices. My Aldi seems to be LOWERING their prices recently (weird, I know, but I think it’s because Lidl recently opened in our city.)
Thank you for your encouragement!
Thanks! 🙂
