What do you buy for snacks? I have two teenage boys that are always hungry?
For snacks, we make homemade cheap things like popcorn, muffins or oatmeal cookies (once or twice a year, I visit an Amish Bulk Foods store and purchase huge bags of oats, wheat, popcorn kernels, etc.) Also, Harris Teeter runs Double Dollar coupons every month or two, and I often get snack foods items for free (I don’t usually post those hauls because they are infrequent and happen on a random, sporadic day – and only cost a few dollars for a bunch of things so it only adds a negligible amount to my grocery total for the week). My boys eat crazy amounts of things already – so I can’t IMAGINE what their teenage years are going to look like! 🙂
My husband loves those noodles too! I really don’t like them, but they’re fairly cheap even at full price.
It must be a guy thing. 🙂
I bought 10 bags of the brussels sprouts from Aldi yesterday! My husband and I are addicted to them, and that’s the best price I’ve seen all season.
I LOVE Brussel sprouts! But no one else in my family will eat them. 🙁 How do you cook/eat them?
I either roast them in the oven with garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar, or my husband grills them in the grill basket with the same seasonings.
Most of our children don’t like them, which is fine with me since they are generally so expensive. They will eat a salad instead. But my 2 and 3 year old love them.
