okra! yum! I just throw it whole in a hot skillet with some butter, olive oil, sliced garlic, salt and pepper. Let it get a nice sear on it then add about 2 T water and cover it to let it finish cooking. Doesn’t take long, less than 5 minutes. So very good!
This sounds great – and easy! Thank you!!
I love okra!! I slice it in chunks, shake in cornmeal and fry in butter till golden brown. Not tops on the healthy scale due to the frying but yummy! I also use it in gumbo.
Oh, yum! I think my family would love this one. 🙂
It’s very good roasted in the oven just like other veggies – S&P, olive oil.
We love roasted veggies, so this is a great idea! And one that somehow hadn’t crossed my mind – thank you!
We don’t cook okra much either, but I know my husbands grandma would cut it in thick slices, coat in seasoning, and deep fry. I’ve never been an okra fan but my dad and husband’s family definitely like it fried!
I like it deep-fried, too – but I’ve only eaten it at restaurants and never attempted it at home. 🙂 I don’t think my kids have ever had it! Guess it’s time to be “adventurous” this week!
