Today’s question is from Rebecca:
My All You magazine subscription is about to expire. I used to love getting it when it was first published because of the high-dollar coupons. However, now I find that it doesn’t have very many coupons that are relevant to me. I’d like to know if other readers have continued to renew their subscription. Do you think it’s worth it? -Rebecca

I found the same thing – resubscribed after a lapse, and still found it wasn’t worthwhile so let it drop. I was finding $1-2 worth of coupons I could use if I was lucky
Stephanie says
I get All You for free using Coke Rewards.
april says
Ive renewed mine with points for My Coke Rewards…if they ever do away with it as an option, I doubt if I would pay cash out of pocket for it. So sad, because it was a really great magazine!
Edna says
I too am deciding if I’m going to renew my subscription to All You. They don’t have the coupons that I use in them much anymore:( The articles are okay, but can find some of the same issues in other magazines. Can’t decide.
Joanna says
I just received my last issue and I’ve decided not to renew. I agree that the magazine doesn’t have the same amount of coupons that it used to.
Gail says
In 2011 I renewed for 2 years and sent a gift subscription to my daughter. Will not renew again. I am very disappointed in the magazine now. I used to be so excited to receive the great coupons, and get great ideas, but I now think this was something that was implemented by the magazine to build a subscriber base. The coupons are now low value, not the previous higher value coupons that were impossible to find elsewhere, and not for items that I would normally buy, The subscription rates are also much higher than most other magazines. When I subscribed, the coupons paid for the higher subscription rates for the magazine, but they no longer do., This is now an overpriced magazine, with little to no value in the content.
The articles are very generic, and tend to be based on the same themes month after month. This magazine has become like a stagnant relationship. I have done my part by paying for the subscription, and even sending a gift subscription to my Daughter, but they have let me down. The magazine provides lackluster articles, reader stories are not interesting, and the coupons are not worth cutting out, as they are easily available anywhere. When the magazine arrives, I basically just recycle it. This magazine needs to hire a new Editor, or just go away. Save your money.
Paige says
I got my subscription free through My Coke Reward points. I wouldn’t pay money for the magazine. They used to have great coupons but as of late they don’t. It’s not worth spending the money. Too bad. 🙁
Hannah J says
Mine is going to run out soon, and I’m not going to renew it. There haven’t been enough coupons relevant to me to continue it. I love their articles, but I figure I can read most of them off their site. Plus, you can always get a deal on the subscription if you wait long enough if you REALLY want it in print form.
Jennifer says
I feel that the magazine is not as good as it used to be too. I would clip most of the coupons and save articles. It would be one cut up magazine by the time I was through reading one but now I can flip through w/o any clipping in like 10 mins. I’m not sure if I would renew but if I did it would be through Coke Rewards.
heidi says
did not review – it no longer paid for itself and i did not really enjoy the magazine
Athena says
I agree the coupons aren’t as good as they were at first, but I still use some and I love the good tips.
Alla says
I would see if you can find the subscription for free. I did, and this is my third year renewing without paying a cent! I love the tips and crafts more then the coupons, so if it comes down to it- are the articles informativeand helpful to your life? If so, then it’s worth the $1.50/issue.
Shelley @ FamilySavings.com says
I gave it up for a while as I too was disappointed in the coupons too. BUT, then Recyclebank had it for 400 points and so I decided that it was a deal I couldn’t pass up! So I feel much better getting it that way and knowing it didn’t cost me anything but the few moments it took me to earn the points. So if the coupons aren’t so great, I’m not feeling like I’ve wasted my money.
Christy says
I too agree!
Bernadette says
Nope, not worth it. If you’re trying to eat healthy there isn’t much in there. I tried a subscription once but found it wasn’t worth it.
Katherine says
I purchased a subscription when the title was mentioned by multiple bloggers as a source for good coupons and money-saving tips. However, after reading my first couple of issues, I realized that most of the content is available online – just look up some “frugal” bloggers, and you’ll get far more information than what’s available in this magazine. Plus, I think I cut out maybe one coupon from each issue… If any. So the magazine didn’t “pay for itself” like it’s supposed to. I believe I just received my last issue this month… I certainly won’t be renewing!
Marie says
My subscription ends this year and I will NOT be renewing! Coupons aren’t that great and the articles seem to be the same every month. 🙁 At least my subscription was cheap!!! 😉
Rita says
I let my subscription lapse and found that I missed it, pretty much like everyone else not so much for the coupons (which have decreased in the past year), I re-upped my subscription through recyclebank – I don’t spend any money out of pocket for magazine subscriptions, I use either coke rewards or recyclebank points or points from one of my survey sites.
Marlene says
I’m sure that the coupon variety and value in All You has had to drop since the circulation most likely skyrocketed a couple of years ago, thanks to great sites like MSM and others that offered subscriptions at rock-bottom prices. Manufacturers probably just aren’t as likely to run a high-value coupon in a magazine that now has goodness knows how many subscribers. I got a subscription at a good value and then watched the coupon selection dry up as well. We’ve become victims of our own desire for coupons!!
Rose says
I agree! Just like how the free toilet paper and tooth paste also seem to have vanished in the last few years. Thanks (for nothing) Extreme Couponing. 🙁
Lynn Oyama says
Yes, I have noticed the very same thing.
Tracy says
I think you can get quite a few of the coupons online at http://www.allyou.com.
Courtney says
My subscription is about to expire and I am not renewing. The coupons have been a big disappointment lately and the articles are not compelling enough for me to spend $$ to subscribe.
Rachel @ Rachel's Giveaways says
My subscription is about to expire and I won’t renew. I’m trying to eat healthier and I find most of the coupons are for processed products that I no longer buy. It seems like the articles are the same thing over and over again, so it’s not worth it for money savings OR entertainment for me.
Rachel says
I just let my subscription lapse this month. It was never one of my favorite mags but I subscribed for the coupons. It seems like each month they always have a story about “walking off the weight” or “how to save more at the grocery store” which seems a little redundant and not very insightful. I would rather spend my time reading another magazine.
Darcy says
My one year paid subscription recently ended, and although I received notifications in the mail and have seen deals in the blogs for subscriptions, I did not renew it immediately. Luckily, that was just about the time that Recyclebank had their deal and I was able to snatch it up for another year for free! I’m hoping that another similar deal will show up in the next year or so. Or depending on the deal itself, I may pay for another subscription if it’s for a fundraiser (which is how I got the original year subscription – my neighbor’s daughter had a school fundraiser).
I do enjoy the articles and actually do read the magazine. I agree that it’s changed and it’s not as awesome as it used to be, so that will definitely factor in once I see the cost! I don’t think I’ve used many of the coupons in there, but there are a few that have been nice deals and/or are good for like an entire year (eg that recent Stayfree pad coupon through 2014 I think).
Lucy says
I don’t recommend to renew unless you like the articles and content. I don’t think the coupons are not valuable to me anymore. I used to look forward to reading this magazine and find coupons, but now I don’t have interests to read magazine. What a waste.lol
Michelle says
Agree….the coupons use to be great and now not so great. I did not renew and I don’t miss it. There are so many online places to print coupons….and it’s one last thing I have to do is read the magazine before recycling. Money and time saver.
Kelly Hess says
I gave mine up about a year ago. The coupons were no longer useful to me and the articles were all things I already knew already so I did not see the value.
jonie says
Talking about magazine subscriptions….check your local library website if they participate in the Zinio program. Our local library has around 40 free magazines, eg Good Housekeeping, MSL, Rachel Ray and others. Pretty good and free.
Edna says
Jonie, What is the Zinio program? Never heard of it. Would share the info with my library if they could do it.
Molly says
I get my subscription for free with MyCokeRewards.com points. I don’t pay for mine. I literally love this magazine. I would not trade it for anything. I read it from front to cover, sometimes the coupons are not that great, but i still use the use the ones that i do clip and give away the ones that i don’t like. It’s worth it for me, but if you are not happy with it, then you should not buy it, but, on the other hand, if you like reading the magazine and just not happy with the coupons, get the subscription for free from Coke.
Amy says
I just renewed through recyclebank; otherwise I wouldn’t have “paid” for another year. I do like the articles and content, but a lot of it can be found for free on Pinterest!!!
Jennifer says
I did not renew. I felt that the coupons were not as good as they were when I first subscribed a few years ago.
Becky says
As mentioned by many already, there are ways to get All You free or cheap (recycle bank, $2 add on with another free magazine subscription, etc.); but I agree that it is no longer worth paying full price for if you’re buying it just for the coupons. That being said, I almost always find an enticing new recipe that often becomes a family favorite. 🙂
Victoria says
You can get it free for 333 points at mycokerewards.com. Even if you don’t drink pop I know a lot of people who do that just toss the points without entering them. They are found on 12 packs, 24 packs, and even bottles of coke products. 333 points does not take long to collect (well not for me anyways it is the one good thing about my husband’s addition to soda, although can I say that I am really proud of him he has cut back to just 2 cans a day lately, and although I got to say he was cranky!!!!! the first while he is doing better now and sticking to it, I would love to see him quit it all together but 2 cans is half of what he was drinking so I am not pushing)
stephanie says
I really looked at what I was buying & if I was using the coupons from All You. In the end, I couldn’t justify continuing the subscription & cancelled after 1 year. I really wasn’t saving that much money & wasn’t using the majority of their coupons. So, take a look at what your using, buying & how it relates to your savings. In the 2 years I have been without the magazine, I can only recall about 2 times when I thought “i wish I had that coupon”.
Kristen @ Joyfullythriving says
I just received my last subscription issue earlier this week and was pondering if I would renew. Like so many others, the coupons have really decreased in the past two years I’ve subscribed. I do enjoy the stories and consider it a light reading magazine with quick tips. If I can find a really great deal – or a free deal – I’ll resubscribe. Otherwise, I’m planning to let my subscription expire, too.
Jen says
No not worth it for the coupons at all. I do enjoy the content, but wouldn’t renew just for that.
Vanessa says
I was able to get a one year subscription for free a few months ago using Recyclebank Points. It’s very rare that I use the coupons, but I do like the recipes. Recyclebank isn’t offering this reward right now, but their rewards change and I’m pretty sure they will offer it again.
Michelle M says
Unfortunately, I have found the coupons to be not as good as they used to be. The articles and some of the tips are very handy. I just waited until I came upon a very reduced renewal offer before I signed up again.
Julie@couponcrazygirl says
Half priced books often has All You for only $.25. Because the coupons don’t expire right away, I can buy them when they are a month or two old.
Pam says
I just saw a free subscription not all that long ago. Was it recycle bank? Anyone know? I know it wasn’t coke rewards.
Vanessa says
It was Recyclebank. I don’t see it under their rewards right now though.
Victoria says
mycokerewards does have a free subscription for 1 year for 333 points.
Brenda Jankowski says
Totally worth it for the coupons and tips!
Luba says
I have not had the subscription for over a year and have not missed it except for a coupon or two mentioned sometimes for a good deal. However, that good deal was usually on candy. I have no plans to re-subscribe. 🙂
Renee says
The coupons aren’t what they were, true. I get mine free with my Coke Rewards points. That might be an option for you.
Nina says
I had a subscription for several years. It was worth it in the beginning. I renewed it through My Coke Rewards. But I have found it is not even worth me spending my points to renew it. I may if Coke has it as a Wednesday deal.
Mara Yager says
DEFINITELY let mine expire! That magazine is worthless now! IDK what happened, but it’s not what it used to be. Not worth it!! Spend the money on a second hand printer and print coupons from home instead!
Carla says
I do miss getting it! I just am cutting back on things due to our finances. I would love to get it again sometime! I really like the picture puzzle where you have to find the differences! I may be weird like that, but it was the first thing I would turn to! I only wish they would keep the horoscopes out!
Lana says
It has been at least 18 months since my subscription ran out and I do not intend to renew. I found that I was not using the coupons and I was not interested in the magazine in general so it was a waste of money.
Bethany says
I have about 3 more years on my subscription so not a decision I have to make now. Got the renewal subscription for much less than normal. I always find a couple coupons for things that I use and I do read the articles. I pay much less than $1 an issue so if I get a couple coupons that I can double, I’m happy.
Christie says
I would not pay to renew, but I don’t mind using my Recycle Bank points for it. I only started getting it a year ago, and I think I missed out on it’s good coupon days. I have maybe used one coupon from it. But I enjoy flipping through it, so as long as I can get it for free I will continue.
Melony says
I’ve also noticed that the coupons offered in All You have become less and less lately. I was previously having multiple subscriptions delivered to my house, but have let all but one lapse. I do enjoy the articles….and receiving one issue gives me a chance to check out the coupons offered. On the rare occasion that I come across a really good high value coupon, I can always pick up a couple of extra magazines at Walmart. I know they cost a little bit more doing it this way. But I’ve found that I really don’t have to do this very often. Maybe only a couple of times a year.
Emily says
I didn’t renew my subscription last year and haven’t missed it a bit. I found that the coupons were only for processed foods and for expensive as the magazine is, it wasn’t wasn’t worth the cost.
Stef says
After a year of having it, I finally used a coupon this month. I’m going to let mine expire as I have a free Redbook and Shape magazine subscriptions that are more relevant to me. I did like some of the recipes and stories though.
[email protected] says
I just got a free renewal through recyclebank.com a few weeks ago. You’re right, is has definitely gone downhill, and I wouldn’t renew otherwise.
The articles are ok, but even with the discounted subscription, it’s still too much. I get about 10 other magazines with good recipes through free, or almost free, subscription offers. All You is not worth it anymore, IMO.
Rachel@couponingbiotwins says
I would try to score a free subscription with recycle bank points. That is what I did a few months back. Crystal was the one who actually did a post on it. That way you can still enjoy getting the magazine and coupons but don’t have to worry about getting your money’s worth. Not sure if they are still offering a deal on it through recycle bank but Id keep checking back. 🙂
Amy f;) says
I don’t get it anymore. I thought there were less and less coupons I could actually use (lots of the coupons were for things that while tasty, weren’t very healthy or for personal care products that I learned how to make myself at home).
Christy M. says
I managed to get a free All You subscription (with Recycle Bank points I think), so that may be an option for you. But if you find you are not using the coupons, definitely don’t pay for a subscription, even if a lot of other people find it worth it to them!
Julie says
I got a free subscription through Recyclebank as well. Any coupons I get are icing on the cake! 😀
Tonya says
I stopped renewing mine. Like you, I felt the coupons were for things that I don’t find useful and items I’d only purchase because I had a coupon for them. I recently bought an issue and found only $1 in coupons that were relevant to me – didn’t even cover the cost of the magazine. It wasn’t a loss though because I do enjoy reading the content in it, but it’s not something I care to subscribe to anymore or purchase with regularity.
Laura_in_TX says
I think I’m not going to renew mine due to the same reasons. Remember when we’d get a coupon in most every issue for a free item? Not any longer…
Blair says
I used to get three subscriptions and now am down to one. When it expires in a few months, I will not renew it. The coupons offered in the magazine are terrible. They used to be so good and now are not worth the cost of the subscription.
Whitney says
I feel the same way. I bought my subscription after I got tired of missing out on so many high value coupons – then a few months into my subscription they seemed to dry up. I’ve also found that most of the articles contain information I already know, and the featured “Super Savers” seem to know very little about saving money sometimes.
And I’ve almost written to the magazine about the outfits featured on the style pages. Instead of thinking “Oooh, I want that!” I’m usually left cringing.
Jenny W says
This is what happened to me. There used to be tons of blog posts about how to get great deals with all you coupons, but I haven’t seen any in a long time.
Jessica @Proverbslady.com says
One of my friends and I were just discussing this. We both agreed that the coupons are just not as good as they once were. I let my subscription go. I didn’t fell that I could get the value out of it any longer. However, if I could get it for free I would continue to subscribe. 🙂
RuthS says
Do you read the magazine? Personally, I usually look for coupons and only read one or two articles, so once my subscription expires, I don’t plan to renew. (I bought a 4 or 5 year subscription a few years ago for really cheap). I figure if it’s not something I would read if it wasn’t delivered to my house, I probably shouldn’t renew. (As opposed to my HGTV magazines which I devour and savor 🙂
Janet says
I renew mine with my coke reward points. I enjoy reading it and usually find at least a couple coupons that I will use.
Need A Nap2 says
I also got mine with Coke Rewards, there was a really good deal a few weeks ago. I looked in the next to last issue and there was maybe one coupon that I couldn’t have printed from online. The lack of good coupons was why I previously let my subscription lapse.
Like someone else commented, maybe if there is a really good coupon, you could by the issue at the store or purchase the coupon from a coupon cutting service?
April D. says
I also renewed but with recyclebank points that I had–I rarely use the coupons but I do pass them on to others. I like the articles and some of the recipes are good…its easy reading, especially by the pool right now:) I think it all depends on if you like the magazine minus the coupons.
carol says
I also got my subscription free with coke points. I noticed that I wasn’t cutting as many coupons as I used to, too. They do have some nice articles, but I guess I was drawn in by the coupons.
Liz says
I stopped subscribing because I didn’t use most of the coupons. I did enjoy the money saving articles, but i can easily find those online.
Jennifer says
I used to buy it but don’t anymore because I think the value and variety of coupons has decreased significantly. The stories are fun to read but aren’t worth the price of the subscription, I don’t think. There is just as much fun and inspiration on Crystal’s site for free.
stephanie says
I gave it up a long time ago. There just were enough relevent coupons to me. I did enjoy some of the articles and ideas, but I get so many free mags (thanks Money Saving Mom) that I don’t really have time to read it anyway.
Lydia says
Ditto! I love the magazine itself but for me, the coupons were just not that great and I didn’t feel like it was worth it.
Diane says
I agree. I dropped my subscription about a year ago.
Nicole says
I just renewed mine a few months ago. I let my subscription lapse for a while. I did miss it, but I waited until a great subscription offer was made and then I renewed. I did miss it when I didn’t receive it. I would look at the magazine in the store when I wasn’t receiving it and there were usually a couple of coupons in the magazine that I would have used if I had received it.
Kim M says
I do, but not so much for the coupons as for the stories. I’d always end up buying a copy in the store anyway, when I didnt have the subscription, so its saving a little in the long run.
