My trusty kitchen helper, Silas, made this Apple Crisp Pizza with me this afternoon.
We used this pie crust recipe since it’s one of those no-fail pie crusts.
I couldn’t find my one lone pizza pan (can you believe I’ve survived almost ten years of marriage with one pizza pan?!), so I made this on a cookie sheet instead.
The end result was just as I expected — delicious. I ended up baking it for a little longer than it recommended as the center crust wasn’t quite baked. I’m thinking that it might work even better to pre-bake the crust a bit, then top with apples and the crumb topping.
Click here for the Apple Crisp Pizza recipe. It’s a winner — especially if you love apples, apple pie, and apple crisp!

Really would like to get the recipe for this but there is something wrong with the site.

If you put too many pans in the drawer under the oven, it’s possible for the top one to somehow slide over the back side of the drawer and end up under the drawer–in which case one might not think to check there for many weeks. I speak from experience 🙂

Pinned this last night after you posted it to FB. Can’t wait to try it.
You have one more pizza pan than I do. But I’ve only been married 5 years so guess I have time. lol. I always make rectangular pizza in a baking sheet/jelly roll pan. I put store bought frozen pizza on a cookie sheet. I really need to buy a pizza pan….and a doughnut pan so I can finally make those pumpkin doughnuts I found on Pinterest. 🙂

If it makes you feel any better, Crystal, I’ve been married for 28 years and I only have one pizza pan! I also have 3 teens! I guess the reason is that I generally make “deep dish” pizza for my family in a 9×13 (which I have 4 pans this size!). Thank you so much for your site!

This looks like something my husband would love! I wish I could survive with one pizza pan but with my 3 kids ranging from 10 to 16, one pizza is not enough for our family for dinner anymore. Although I was thinking of switching to cookie sheet pizzas anyways because that way you can get 4 cooking at once and if you rotate them half way through they all cook evenly. Doing so would allow me to have leftovers for lunch the next day.

We have used cookie sheets for pizza for years. Not only does it fit easier in the oven, it us easier to cut, and the leftovers fit into the storage bags better too.

Silas is so cute! I swear he is going to be a baker one day.

Looks good! It *may* taste even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream 😉
It’s a great way to use up a jar of the apple pie filling I canned last weekend!

Your pie crust looks amazing!

Oh my! This is going on the menu for dessert tomorrow night. I’ve never come across an apple pizza.

This sound so good. I have some apples on hand right now so I will be making this recipe this weekend. I have made a similar recipe in the past and since everyone is a fan of apple crisp and pizza, I can’t see where I can go wrong with this recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Crystal, you know what I love? I love that in most all your pictures at the kitchen table, Silas is just sitting right on the tabletop! I’m betting that’s the easiest way for him to reach and be able to help, but I just love your allowance of it. Too many would be wrapped up in the idea of “you can’t be on the table” and overlook the value of the children being able to help and participate. So…good for you!

I’m a pretty relaxed mom… and I’m sure it must drive some people batty! 🙂 My philosophy: life is too short to sweat the small stuff.
Thanks for your kind encouragement!

I’ve noticed he’s always on the table too! Soooo cute but I could never do it! I’m such a germ-o-phobe that my husband says I’m actually worse than Monk (the OCD detective). I have a really hard time letting go but I know they need to learn to cook so I just always have them make their own stuff and I make a separate one and eat it. I know that sounds crazy but no matter how much I warn them not to touch their face, hair, nose, etc. after we wash with soap I’ll catch kids doing it. So, making my own pie and letting them make their own or pizza/caramel apples/breadsticks/cake etc. is the only way I can handle cooking with kids!
Looks like a super yummy recipe; gonna have to try it!

I had to laugh about your pizza pan comment because I have survived 10 years with only 1 pizza pan. That, and I’ve also survived 10 years with only 2 kettles. There have been times where I’ve wished I had another kettle or two, but these 2 have served me well. 🙂
I’m going to have to try this recipe. I’m a huge apple crisp fan!

🙂 I’m so glad I’m not the only one… though I’m really wondering where my one pizza pan snuck off to. I’m wondering if Kathrynne put it away in a new location when she unloaded the dishwasher recently! Gotta dig through my cupboards tomorrow to try and locate it. 🙂

Oh yum! I’ll have to try this one! Thanks for sharing the recipe! 🙂
