This book was one of my top reads in 2016! I listened to the audiobook and now know why so many people have raved about it! We went to the movie back at the end of 2014 and the book was definitely every bit as good as the movie. Such a powerful, powerful true story of courage and forgiveness. Highly recommended!

Do you recommend for a high schooler? I think I saw the movie a few years ago and it was a tough watch. But also a really good movie. So I’m wondering about the book for my 17 year old son.
There is also a youth/ young adult version of Unbroken; it is also excellent, but a slightly shorter read and it leaves out some of the more grisly details. I read the original version and the young adult version because I was considering having my students read it. You can find a copy of the young adult version on thriftbooks.com or abebooks.com for less than $5.
I have read this book and while there are some intense parts I think that it is appropriate for a 17 year old. It gives a very eye opening view of the struggles that POWs went through in WWII. That being said everyone is different and I would encourage you to do your own research. -Jordan, MSM Team
