It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a Peek Into Our Week post, so I thought it was high time I shared another one. Here’s a little look into our life the past few days:
I was positively giddy to come home from vacation to discover my new adult coloring book and colored pencils waiting for me in the mail. I may be 33 years old, but I’ll never be too old for coloring.
{Here’s the link to the coloring book I got. I’ve also seen them at Barnes & Noble and there are many free printables online, too!}
We finally got our front and back flower gardens weeded. Well, I use the term “flower gardens” pretty loosely, because basically there were just lots and lots of massive weeds growing there right now.
{I’ve always said I don’t have a green thumb, but y’all, I can’t say that any more. I clearly have an amazing knack for growing really, really impressive WEEDS. In fact, I bet my weed-growing skills can totally beat out your weed-growing skills!}
We spent most of Wednesday filming videos for a special project we’re putting together for my book launch (Money-Making Mom comes out November 3!). Those of you who would love a peek into my entrepreneurial journey or who want to start a business are going to really love these videos!
My favorite part? The videos only showed me from the waist up, so guess who got to rock her running shorts and flip flops all day despite multiple shirt and hair changes?!?

Why yes that’s a booster seat I’m sitting on!! #ShortPeopleProblems

Silas has his first loose tooth and he is very, very excited about it. He woke up Thursday morning and said: “I’m going to eat an apple!” And then has spent the last little while eating a bite, wiggling the tooth, pronouncing that it just got looser, ask everyone to feel it and verify that it is, indeed, looser.
Then he repeated this all over. The tooth really isn’t even that loose, but at the rate it’s getting wiggled, it’s going to be coming out very soon!
Today we also had mid-year executive team meetings. And as you can tell by this video of one of my managers (Brian), we were incredibly serious the entire time. Ahem.
{Actually, we ended up getting a TRUCKLOAD of brainstorming and planning done and we can’t wait to implement the various ideas so we can streamline our systems, produce more products, and better serve you all! I’m so excited for what the future holds!}
How has YOUR week been?
P.S. I’ll be in San Diego on Saturday! Do you live near there? If so, I’d love to meet you! Get all the details on where the event will be here.

Here is a great coloring book that looks like a business book to keep in your office: http://www.amazon.com/Effective-Time-Management-Color-Secret/dp/0692425209/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442720883&sr=8-1&keywords=color+me+in+secret
Last week my eldest child started Kindergarten at home. It’s been a lot of fun for both of us (me, mostly). It’s been an adjustment because she has younger siblings at home, but we still had a really nice time. It’s actually brought us all a little closer!
Watching my daughter do so much coloring for school last week makes me want to get one of those adult coloring books!
Just seeing this post (and catching up with the rest) as I just spent the last 3 days internet-free at my mom’s family’s coffee farm where she grew up (in Brazil). It was my son’s first time there and he had so much fun despite the differences with his usual US suburban life. Before leaving he got a loose tooth and would never smile for pics because he was always pushing it with his tongue, so much so that he turned it 180 degrees, luckily it came out that same night. He’s going to be 7 in October and this was his 8th tooth to come out!! It was also a great to catch up with my aunts and uncles, some of whom I had last seen 11 years ago at my wedding. After 2 weeks we will be back to the States on Saturday and it’s back to reality with work, school and life! Which we miss too!
Couldn’t help but say that you look like a model in the booster seat pic! Beautiful smile and amazing hair and make up!!
Yay! I’m so glad you got to go back to Brazil and take your son with you… what a special memory!
I am anxiously awaiting the release date of your new book! Any early sneak preview copies for your biggest fans? 🙂 I’m at the beginning of my new business journey. I’m hoping to help our family out and take a load off of my husband. Your site has been a huge motivation and encouragement to me. I probably wouldn’t have even tried to start a business had it not been for your website! I can’t wait until November to get your book!!!!
We’re going to be announcing details of our launch team really soon! I’d love to have you sign up to be apart of that! Stay tuned. 🙂
The videos sound fantastic!
Question: Are you going to have a launch team for the book, or was that covered by the 100 copies you gave out in return for reviews that could be used for the blurbs? I totally missed out on that but don’t want to miss out on possibly being part of the launch team if there’s going to be one. 🙂
Yes, ma’am! Look for launch team details and a sign-up form soon. We’re finalizing a few things on our end and then we’re going to be ready to launch that.
Moose’s Loose Tooth is another great loose tooth book… : )
ANDREW’S LOOSE TOOTH by Robert Munsch would be a great book to share with Silas. My granddaughter is 7 and still hasn’t lost a tooth.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Sounds like a great week! The highlight of my week is going to San Diego tomorrow for the Say Goodye to Survival Mode event!
Can’t WAIT to meet with you!!
I love to color too. I haven’t bought a grown-up coloring book yet, but I did download a coloring app that I love. The perfectioinist in me likes that I can easily change colors in sections that I’ve already colored if I want. That makes it even more relaxing to me than regular coloring! ?
I found “adult” color books in the sewing/craft section at Walmart last week and I told my hubs I never got the good colored pencils for school so I felt special buying Crayola Brand. I colored a picture and hung it on my 85 yr old mom’s frig!
Yay! This makes me so happy!
My six-year-old son has been waiting and waiting to have his first loose tooth. He’s starting to feel left out now, so it’s good to know that Silas is having his first one now!
I picked up a coloring book at Barnes & Noble a couple weeks ago and I love it. Although I keep reminding myself to call it a “coloring book for adults”. Because when I told my 19yo son I had bought myself an “adult coloring book” he gave me a look of horror thinking I met something completely different.
Ha ha ha! When I last visited my parents, my mom said that she had “adult videos” and not just cartoons for the grandkids in the family room. I said, “Mom do you know what you’re saying!?” I suggested she rephrase it 🙂
I know what you meant! That’s what they are called everywhere, but I told some friends of ours that I’d gotten an adult coloring book and they looked at me pretty shocked until I explained what it actually was!! I kind of like the term “Grown Up” Coloring book better.
I like “Grown Up” coloring book. I’m going to start calling it that now.
My kids love it when I sit down and color with them. It’s relaxing for me and fun for them; I think it’s great!
This week I’m happy to have found a way to bring a time of calm and focus back to my mornings. I wrote about it here: http://everydaymindfulliving.com/snuggle-time-as-meditation/
I’ve just got my first adult colouring book. Loving it. Great to see what you’ve been up to.
I love the idea of adult coloring books! Years ago I worked as a CNA in a nursing home, and the state surveyors frowned on the residents using crayons and coloring books as an activity because they said it was “childish”. I thought that was silly because I like to color, and I find it to be very relaxing. I’m glad there are other people out there who feel the same way!
It’s funny that you posted about adult coloring. I just picked it up this week and i’m loving it. I enjoy having a little creative time everyday! It’s really is very relaxing and my daughter even enjoys coloring with me!
Doodling books are fun, too, and they’re fun to do with my 6 yr old.
I had a few weeds over 6 feet tall last summer. It’s ok though, since we can keep a sense of humor about them
! 🙂
I hope you have a great weekend.
Oh, my goodness, your purple shirt (in the third picture) is gorgeous!!!! Where did you get it?
Is it from the Dressing Your Truth Type 4 store?
Yes! I LOVE it!
Thanks!!!
I adore this post! I don’t know what’s better….the amazing outfit or the new video series that’s coming. Woot!
P.S. I’ve got to check out that coloring book. My sister got a similar one and has so much fun with it.
I sent my kiddo back to school this week, so it has been crazy here. It’s nice to get back to a regular routine, but so hard to send him back. We also went to a you pick farm this week which was so much fun!
Aww! Congrats Silas on your tooth! I hope it comes out soon for you 🙂
I am really close to breaking down and getting one of those adult coloring books. It looks really relaxing. Busy week here getting kids ready to go back to school next week. Grade 8, 10 and College Freshman! YIKES.
