I am so happy to see others shopping at Aldi. It is one of the best kept secrets near me and every time I walk in to the store, I am amazed at the great deals I get and how little I spend. Especially when the products are all natural and organic.
great store. great buys. great post.
You are inspiring me to meal plan my week ahead 🙂

So for Homeland, you don’t have to buy both items to get the bogo price, the items will just ring up half off? I am glad to get the clarification. I don’t know many homeland shoppers to ask!
Gretchen says
It’s tricky at Homeland because sometimes you DO have to buy 2 items. Most the time the tag will say whether or not you have to buy both items. If the item is just going to ring up at half price, the shelf tag will usually say in very small print under the “Buy One Get One Free” something like “You pay $1.99 each” (which is half of the regular price). I hope that helps you!

What is your recipe for venison roast? I’ve been trying to figure one out! 🙂
Gretchen says
Tari, I never actually use a recipe! So it ends up slightly different every time. I usually always include lots of spices, butter, Worcestershire sauce, and carrots and potatoes. Sometimes I make a white gravy to go with it. I often make it similar to this recipe (but just substitute a venison roast instead or beef) http://www.food.com/recipe/herb-pot-roast-and-vegetables-122569 I hope that helps!

Hi Gretchen!
Just wondering what your grocery budget is per week? I’m just curious. I think you do an awesome job of feeding your family well on this amount.
Gretchen says
Thanks! I try and stick to $60 per week for all groceries, toiletries, paper goods, etc.
