I am very excited to see Aldi bringing an organic line to the store! I have enjoyed the test items they put out months ago. However, a good portion of this list is still junk food. Just because it says organic, doesn’t necessarily mean it is good for you. I am excited to try the ground beef! I would love to see more organic produce and eggs and milk.
Rachel says
I actually work for aldi so the organic products are going to continuously grow in selection since they are planning to expand into California, I was told they are going to try to be like a trader joes out there which means they will put those products in all their stores which is extremely exciting!
Denise B says
Excited to see these products at Aldis. Actually found organic applesauce in November, but not since then. Hoping they bring it back.
Melissa M. Miller says
I’m super stoked about this! I’ve been wanting to make better for me foods, but some of it’s just so darn expensive, especially grass fed beef. How can Aldi do this? Well, they own Trader Joes.
Sarah Z says
So, if these are officially labelled organic — does this mean they are all GMO free as well?
sharon says
Unless it says GMO free, it can still be GMO. Organic is just the way it is grown. Canola oil is GMO and most people think it’s a good oil to use. NOT!.
Kristin Leonard says
Organic is usually gmo free. If you choose organic products you are avoiding gmo’s. Here are the details:http://gmo-awareness.com/2011/05/05/is-organic-always-gmo-free/
margaret says
Foods bearing the USDA organic seal are 100% organic. GMO’s are NOT organic and not allowed in foods bearing the USDA seal. Other foods, including natural and “made with organic ingredients” can have GMO’s unless labeled GMO free.
joanna n. says
if it’s certified organic, it must be gmo free.
R Marie says
Another thing to remember about Aldi’s is they do not accept credit cards. Debit cards are accepted.
Liz says
How can there be organic honey? Bees are going to fly to whatever flowers they want, whether or not those flowers were grown in an organic way.
Amanda says
my guess is that they are farm bees maybe in some sort of enclosed area that restricts where they can go. Good question though!
Sarah Z says
It could be that the bees are not allowed on GMO crops or if they need supplemented w/ sugar water during droughts they are given organic sugar water, etc. and there are no artificial additives.
Tara says
It might have to do with the heating processin most honey goes through and is basically worthless to eat. It could be considered organic because it doesn’t go through that process.
Patti says
The bees have a certain amount of distance that they fly to the flowers. There cannot be any weed killer or other things sprayed within that area and then the honey is organic.
Jenn says
It’s labeled organic in the sense that it’s not processed to death
Adam says
The USDA does not have a organic standard for honey, so any honey can bear that special logo in the US.
Melanie @ Carmel Moments says
I’m so excited about this!
Mindy says
Yesterday I found organic apples, baby carrots, and bananas at my Aldi store
in Ohio!
Cathy says
On the organic grass-fed beef, does this mean it’s only available on Wednesdays or that it’s only that price on Wednesdays? Thanks!
MSM Team says
It usually means that new prices/sale prices begin on Wednesday each week.
Cathy says
OK, thanks!
