I make one very similar to this. We simply love it and keep it on hand all the time.
I have it listed on my favorite things pages on my blog: http://thetimekeeper.wordpress.com/favorite-things/

This sounds fabulous…but I am watching my calories…any way to make this less fat-laden? 🙂

Sure, allie!
Use less mayo, more lemon juice. You can also use nonfat buttermilk and nonfat sour cream and lowfat mayo.

My husband and I have been making homemade ranch for quite a while. To REALLY cut those calories, we don’t use mayo or sour cream. We use 100% plain yogurt. A little bit of a different texture and not as rich, but very thick and flavorful. WAY less calories than fat free store bought ranch, even when using the full fat yogurt, and way tastier.

Thank you!

This is something I’ve recently learned to do (make dressings) and I feel like such a dork for not thinking of it sooner! 🙂 It’s SO EASY and it tastes better than store-bought AND it’s healthier since it doesn’t have all the preservatives!
