Welcome back to the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified} series!
From November 5 to December 7 (skipping the week of Thanksgiving), every weekday morning at 9 a.m. EST, I’ll be posting the day’s assignment and then every evening at 7 p.m. EST, I’ll be posting my progress and pictures, along with a link-up for you to share your progress and pictures, too.
Day 18 Assignment
::Get dressed in something that makes you feel great {there’s something about dressing in clothes that make you feel great that just gives you more energy and zest for life! Get your free copy of SarahMae’s ebook, Frumps to Pumps, if you need more motivation in this.}
::Sit down with a cup of coffee or tea, refer to your list of weekly goals, and make a list of no more than 5-7 specific things you want to accomplish today.
::Set the timer for 15 minutes and vacuum the main living areas of your home.
::Vacuum your carpeted closets. Sweep or mop the floor in those closets without carpet. Remove all items from the closet floor and get rid of clutter, trash, and items that don’t belong in that closet.
Take pictures of your accomplishments and blog about them, if you’d like. And then come back here at 7 p.m. EST to share your progress posts or tell us about your accomplishments in a comment.

I caught up on all three challenges from Mon, Tues, and Wed yesterday! And a couple pounds lighter today than I was a few days ago so I’m thinking I’m burning some calories between my yard work workouts and the hours of cleaning I spend working up a sweat. Love this series!

Trying to keep up….I still have the second floor vents to clean. And when I cleaned the kitchen vent under the table that I thought was scratched from the chairs it turns out it was just dirt! Hooray! At least the closets were easy because the floors are pretty clear (its the shelves that are too full 🙂

This doesn’t really pertain to the floors, but it does pertain to closets… In going through my closets recently I keep thinking about the concept of only wearing 10% of my clothing 90% of the time. I would love to see an updated post on your minimalist wardrobe when you have the time. Thank you!

Wow, great timing, I just finished the 3rd of our closets last night! Only 2 more to go. I agree this can be a pretty in-depth project, which is why I’ve been taking one each day to fully declutter and clean. It’s very rewarding when done though.
Please remind people to use masks! I just figured out last night that I probably have dust allergy, because of my reaction to cleaning the thick layer of dust on the floor. (My husband hadn’t cleaned it since he first moved in 9 years ago…)

I don’t post much, but I love these daily “chores”. It really helps me keep my home clean and organized. I have been able to de-clutter every room and donate so much. Now it’s much easier to clean and your daily posts are great motivators for me!

The closets are my big projects. I cannot even see the floor in one of them, so I will be working on one for 15 min instead. But I really am proud of myself for keeping up with everything else. My kitchen is much more organized.

Whew! Good project/challenge. 🙂 Just purchased new vacuum bags, too. (To vacuum is one of my least favorite chores. Ironing would be the next least favorite.)
On the bright side, this will be an excellent addition to my morning exercise routine, which I did earlier. Also, I guess I have somewhat of a head start since I’ve already de-cluttered the closets. (Try to do this on a regular basis.)
Don’t have closets that are not carpeted, so I guess I’ll sweep and mop the kitchen floor. The kitchen floor seems to be a never ending chore. 🙂

Okay now these tasks are asking for the moon and the stars! The only closet that isn’t stacked from floor to ceiling with stuff is the closet that opens up to the piping we never finished LOL I’m prepping myself to see your pictures tonight and I’m sure everything is hung up just ‘so’ without a thing on the floor LOL 🙂 I’ll think about under taking this one this weekend. Tell that book to bring us back to simple things that don’t take 48 hrs just to comprehend how to tackle it 😉 Have a great day 🙂
