Brigette’s $58 Grocery Shopping Trip, Zaycon Order, and Weekly Menu Plan for 6

Zaycon

I decided to go out on a limb and try something different at Zaycon  – boneless, skinless chicken thighs! I’ve been purchasing all my boneless chicken breasts and hamburger meat at Zaycon for the last couple of years, and have been extremely impressed and pleased.

I have to admit that I didn’t actually read about the thighs before purchasing them, so I was SHOCKED to open my box and find 10 3-lbs bags of FROZEN chicken (only 9 are pictured here because I didn’t get a picture before we ate Bag #1 :))!!

The only things I’ve ever purchased from Zaycon in the past haven’t been frozen, and I’ve loved the “fresh” factor. Having said that, it was awfully nice to not have to go to all the prep work of getting them ready for the freezer – I just had to throw them in!

I also got a huge thumbs-up from the entire family when we ate that first bag, and my husband told me to absolutely order them again. Based on sale prices on frozen thighs at my local supermarkets, these are still cheaper than I could buy locally. I’m still a loyal Zaycon customer, and I will probably buy these again in the future. But I will also (probably ;)) read the fine print from now on on any new product I decide to try.

What state do you live in? I was save a fortunate going to your Aldi’s. Prices at my Aldi’s doesn’t even touch this.

I have only used Zaycon once, and I did not like that they changed delivery dates twice at the last minute. At 40 miles away and trying to work it around my work schedule, was not good. I got the 80/20 hamburger and it is not nearly as good as my local ground chuck, I used to get left overs out of a pound of taco meat for 2 lunches but now we have no left overs. I ordered the link sausages and the shrimp, I will see in January if I will continue to use them.
