This past week was a very full week. In fact, it was one of those weeks that when you looked at the calendar at the beginning of the week, you weren’t really sure how you were going to make it through the week. But God was so faithful to carry me through one day at a time and help me accomplish everything that needed to get accomplished, plus some extras.
That said, I had hoped to get some books from my book stack finished and that just didn’t happen. So there won’t be a What I’m Reading Update, because there’s basically nothing to update there. It’s a new week this week and I’m hopeful that I’ll actually get through more than a few chapters this week. 🙂
I did finish On The Alaskan Trail with the kids. It was a sort of “meh” read and I felt like we just plowed through it so I could check it off the list. I’m hopeful that this week’s pick (Teddy Button) will be more engaging. We’ll see!
I also was happy that I made Sourdough Starter and it seems to be alive and working! I think it’s just about ready for my first sourdough loaf… I can’t wait! Read more about it here.

Turning off the computer for a couple of hours is a great start. I need to step away from the computer for longer periods of time too.
This week I hope to run/walk 10 miles and also plant some carrot seeds in my garden box.

Thank you for sharing what you read, Crystal! I especially like hearing your read-aloud selections. Do you have a master list of read-aloud selections that you select from or is that something you actively research? I am always looking for more and have read several of the books you have suggested. I would love to see you post a master list sometime…..or maybe you already have?
Blessings!

I get ideas from books about books, blogs from others, reader’s suggestions, and homeschool conferences. I never seem to lack for new ideas!
You can see all of the books we’ve read together the past few years on my Pinterest page: http://www.Pinterest.com/msmblog

We have run into a few books, we just read to get through too. 🙂
Glad to hear your sourdough starter is alive and working. I haven’t made any for a while but since we will be starting to bake bread each week again. I may have to start some myself.
Hope this week is a little less busy for you.

Hi, Crystal! When I grow-up I want to be as great at time-management as you! 😀 I so admire how you and so many other moms get so many tasks done on a daily basis. Though I would really love to have your TM skills, I came to the conclusion I cannot compare myself to others when I have challenges I need to work with. It takes me twice as much time (or more) than others to get things done. I am learning to accept (after more than 40 years!) that I need be realistic and go at my own pace.
I’m getting back on track with my goals and blogging about them. I finally feel I’m able to handle adding more to my list after 5 months! I’m excited to use my pretty colored markers and pens to track them and my goals for the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge. Little things like that motivate me! 🙂
Have a great week, everyone!

Yes, it is SO important to compare ourselves only with ourselves. Because otherwise, we’ll always find someone (or many someones!) that we don’t measure up to.
For what it’s worth: I think you’re doing an AMAZING job. Keep it up! And thank you so much for your sweet email this morning. That blessed me!
Lety says
So true! As much as I see it stated on blogs and memes, I need to be mindful about not comparing myself.
Thank YOU, dear Crystal, for all you do to motivate me!!! I am so blessed to have you rooting for me! 🙂

My last week was very similar to yours! Some weeks you are just happy to FINISH! 🙂 Best of luck on your goals this week. Do you have a movie picked out for your date? (I have a hard time just “sitting” and watching a movie!) Have a wonderful week and thanks for the link-up!

I think we’re going to do the new Captain America movie… we’ve enjoyed the others in the series so far!
