I feel like I am slowing getting the hang of monthly/yearly goals. Maybe in a couple months I’ll be able to get the hang of breaking them down further into weekly goals. 🙂
Jessica says
Hi, I was looking at your goals and my goals and I realized your goals never include home maintenance or improvement. No find plumber, paint kids room, rake leaves and similar items that seem to take up a chunk of my time but don’t happen every day or week. Do you not consider those part of your home management goals? Do they just fall under chores or does Jesse handle those items? Just wondering. I do live in an old house, so “the house” is a large task. Thanks!
Patti says
I now have my list of total yearly goals for my life, home, and finances. I also have started listing my weekly goals in my calendar (like you do) and checking them off as I do them. This helps me set my daily goals. So everything I do now is with a purpose and even if it is slow going, it is what I need and want to do – not just whimsy. I am looking forward to seeing real results at the end of this year. Thanks for your updates – they keep me motivated to keep going!!
Anna Hettick says
I linked up this week! So excited to be able to stay at home again! (Soon!)
Jenna says
Thanks for posting your weekly goals. Every time I see yours it motivates me to think about my plans for the week and how I can be more intentional at working towards my own goals. I recently started your book and am truly enjoy all your talk of goal setting and creating a plan. Thanks for all that you do for your readers!
Shelly says
I just started posting goals this month and it really does help me stay focused each week on what is important to me to get done.
Julie@ Flitterbugs says
What did you think of “Loving The Little Years”? It is one of my favorites….I read it 3 times in the past 6 months:)
Laura Jane says
I had never heard of the 700 club – guess that’s what happens when you don’t have TV, but I’m sure you’ll be great. If I could I would watch you – hopefully they’ll be a clip somewhere on-line. I’ve been listening to your audiobook and I’m loving it so far. I’m also excited that you’re doing project life. This is my first year to do it, but you’re far ahead of me. I’ve only completed one layout (although I don’t plan on a layout every single week).
Jen @ Master the Art of Saving says
Great job on your goals. It’s always inspiring to see your weekly goal check-ins. 🙂

I just set up our DVR to record Thursday….CONGRATS!! That’s awesome. You’ll do fabulous!!
Melissa says
Hi Crystal,
THANK YOU for starting this series. I’ve added new categories to my goals, with inspiration from yours, and it’s working out wonderfully.
I noticed you listen to a lot of audio books (I love being able to multi-task with them, too) but they’re so expensive! If you don’t mind my asking–do you just get them on Amazon, or a membership like Audible.com or at the library?
Mackenzie @ The Random Path says
I hit all my goals for January except for one; I think with moving, I just had too much on my plate and couldn’t make it to the consignment store. Oh well, that’s life 🙂
Nicole says
Looks like a great week! Good luck on Thursday!
Carolynn @ mylittlebitoflife.com says
I’ll have to DVR your appearance on the show. You will do great I’m sure! Try to enjoy your short trip! 🙂

Crystal, I’ll be cheering you on when I watch 700 club on Thursday. I am also from Virginia Beach. My cousin works on the set of 700 club and will most likely do your hair! She does hair for the hosts of the show and sometimes the guests too. I’m trying to get your book to her for a signing. Not sure if i’m going to see her before then…either way, good luck! I’m sure you will do great 🙂
CultOfMoney says
Wow, live TV! You’re such a star! You’ll do great I’m sure. You’re very good at getting through your to-do list, mine always has a bunch of hold-overs from the prior week.
Leighann says
My goals for this week:
Start art classes with my 2.5 year old at our local community art center on Wednesdays
Go to the gym 1 time (and hope against hope that I don’t get sick again!)
Read: Homeschooling the Early Years, Homeschooling the Middle Years, Homeschooling on a Shoestring, Gardening For Dummies, Winter’s Heart, Inspired Wire, and Wire Wrapping (almost finished with Gardening for Dummies today, and 2/3 of the way through Winter’s Heart)
Keep a log of my eating habits on myfitnesspal.com
Don’t be nervous about the 700 Club! Block the cameras out; just pretend that you are sitting there giving an interview, or are conducting a very small class of friendly folk. I’m sure you will do wonderfully 🙂
Leighann says
I have to add 2 more books to my list. Yay for unexpected requests being fulfilled from the library!
Annette says
How are you liking, “Blue Like Playdough”? I’m thinking about buying it?

I have to try the rice milk recipe! It looks yummy and fairly easy. I am on week 5 of Couch to 5k myself. I never thought I would enjoy running but I love it so far!
Crystal from Crystal's Ramblings says
I felt like I was pretty successful last week, and got quite a few things checked off of my list.
Crystal, I want to thank you for advice to pace myself as I start selling my crafts. I decided not to do ANYTHING with my craft stuff on Sunday. I cleaned up my kitchen counter (where everything was all spread out driving me crazy). I sorted it into finished, needs to be finished, etc. Then I put it all away and didn’t touch it. I was amazed by how refreshed I felt and even how creative I felt. I really, really wanted to do stuff because I had some new ideas, but I didn’t. Thank you for your advice!
Victoria says
Just curious but how long is the couch to 5K program? My 15 year old asked to run with me with the goal of doing a full marathon the year he graduates. So far he is up to just over 3 miles of continual running. He started in late November, so that’s about 10 weeks ago. I started him with lots of walking breaks and gradually took them away, and added more time. Is that kind of like the couch to 5k program? (oh and last week he beat me! I tried my best but I just couldn’t keep up any longer! made his mamma proud!)
Meredith says
I have to say, since you started this series, I’ve been getting so much more done, both around the house and at work. Thanks for the push!! I’m more productive for it!

Couch to 5K program is awesome! My husband did it last year and I did the first 6 weeks before it got too cold and impractical for me to do it with the children, but I’m planning on getting back to it in the spring.

Wonderful! I have got it saved in my favorites from when you first posted it but haven’t had a chance to really look into it. I will have to make it a priority this week!

I just saw that you are coming to VA for the 700 Club. Could I convince you to do a meetup with your Tidewater fans? Pretty please? 🙂
Crystal says
Since I’m not flying in until pretty late on Wednesday night and have to be at the studios early on Thursday morning, I think it’s not going to work out this time.
However, I AM hoping that a meet-up will work out for VA readers when my husband and I come for the HEAV homeschool conference in June. I’ll post details about that once we’ve finalized things!
Heather says
I am so excited to see you on the 700 club!!
