Well, last week didn’t quite pan like I had planned… I ended up getting mastitis on Tuesday and was pretty much bed-ridden Wednesday through Friday. Because of this, I didn’t get as many of my goals finished this last week as I had hoped. But that’s okay, my body needed to just rest!
Here’s my update on last week’s goals:

Look for my review tomorrow! 🙂
Finish reading Get Out of Your Head is on my list also!
It’s such a great book!
Mastitis is so painful! Sorry to hear that, but glad you are feeling better. I had it several times…both times ended up at the hospital where I was advised to stop nursing because of the pain of nursing with the infection. After labor, I felt I could do anything so I just ignored them and nursed through. Horribly painful for a few days, but then smooth sailing.
Oh yikes!! I’m so sorry you had it so bad!
I had mastitis twice (once each with my first two kids). After that, whenever I felt it coming on, I would take ibuprofen for a day, drink more water, and try to rest and that helped me keep from getting a full blown case of it again. Maybe that will help you – or hope you can figure out what will work for you.
Thanks so much for the suggestions!
I just had mastitis as well a couple weeks ago. Happened to be on my older two kids birthday week 🥴 One of the hardest lesson I’ve learned from being a mother is when to just STOP. I believe getting mastitis was my bodies way of MAKING me slow down 😆 Nursing has been the most challenging thing I have ever done! Your doing great! Keep it up mama!❤️
Yes! It was a good reminder to me that I can’t run at the pace that I usually could when I just had the older three! I have SO much more energy now than I’ve had for 10 months and I’m having to remind myself over and over again to PACE myself!
I got mastitis all.the.timE. With my kiddos, and finally with my fourth I was recommended taking lecithin, and it was amazing! As soon as I started talking it, I never got it again (and between my four kiddos I had probably had it 15-20 times). Would highly recommend it!
I hope you’re feeling better! The Giver and the rest of the series is awesome! I hope your kids love it. So many great themes/lessons for the kids.
I read it a few years ago and LOVED it, so I’m super excited to read it to the kids!
My heart goes out to you. I had mastitis while nursing my daughter, and I remember how painful and exhausting it was. Take good care of yourself and give yourself time to heal!
I’m so grateful that I’m feeling MUCH better now!
